Why are we entering Politics?
For the past two years millions of common Indians came out on streets to fight against the biggest evil in our country today - corruption. This people's anti-corruption movement has exposed the ugly and greedy face of our politicians. No political party in India today works for the common man's needs. The Janlokpal Movement was a call to all the politicians of India to listen to the common man's plea. For almost 2 years we tried every single way available to plead our cause to the government - peaceful protesting, courting arrest, indefinite fasting several rounds of negotiations with the ruling government - we tried everything possible to convince the government to form a strong anti- corruption law. But despite the huge wave of public support in favour of a strong anti-corruption law, all political parties cheated the people of India and deliberately sabotaged the Janlokpal Bill. The time for peaceful fasts and protests is gone. This is the time for action. Since most political parties are corrupt, greedy and thick skinned, it's time to bring political power back into the people's hands. We are not saying that every single politician is corrupt and greedy. There are many good intentioned people in politics today who want to work honestly for the people of India. But the current system of polity does not allow honest politicians to function. We are also not claiming that every single person who joins our party will be hundred percent honest. We are saying that it is the system that has become very corrupt and needs to be changed immediately. Our aim in entering politics is not to come to power; we have entered politics to change the current corrupt and self-serving system of politics forever. So that no matter who comes to power in the future, the system is strong enough to withstand corruption at any level of governance.
Aam Aadmi Party is happy to announce that the Election Commission has allotted the party a reserved symbol of 'Broom' for all the 70 assembly constituencies of Delhi. With this the party has crossed the second milestone (after party's registration) on its way to cleaning up the polity of the country. With the Broom which symbolizes dignity of labour, the party hopes to clean the filth which has permeated our government and our legislature. The country needs a clean sweep of its corrupted main stream political parties. Key Agenda Items1) Jan Lokpal BillAam Aadmi party will pass a powerful anti corruption law, Janlokpal, to remove corruption from our system. Under this law, people will be able to complain directly and imprison corrupt politicians and bureaucrats. Today a corruption case gets extended for years in our courts. In this time the corrupt politician is re-elected many times over to loot the nation. Many times accused politicians have died before being declared corrupt by the courts. Janlokpal Act will ensure that investigation of corruption charges and prosecution is done under fast tract conditions within 6 months. If found guilty the corrupt official shall serve appropriate jail time from 1 year to life, depending on the severity of the case, his or her property will be seized and he or she will be dismissed from job. If our party’s government comes into existence, those found guilty of corruption charges in graft scandals in recent years will be jailed within six months. When a common man goes to an office, he is asked for a bribe. Under Janlokpal, every function of a government officer, the officer responsible and the time limit within which the work must be completed will be clearly defined. If the concerned officer doesn’t do the work within the stipulated time, Lokpal will penalize such officer, compensate the sufferer and get the work done in 30 days. 2) Right To RejectWhen we go to cast our vote, we know that almost all the candidates are either corrupt or criminals. But our current voting system forces us to choose any one candidate and waste our vote on someone we know is unfit for the job. We the people's party plan to give the voter an alternate choice - a Reject All button. All voting machines shall have a “reject all” button at the bottom. If you dislike all candidates, you will have an option to use this button. If this button gets majority of votes, the elections to that constituency will be cancelled and fresh elections will be held within a month. The parties and candidates rejected in the cancelled elections will forfeit their right to contest again in the re-elections. 3) Right to RecallToday we give our vote to a candidate, he or she wins the election, and then they disappear from our life. Today most elected representatives make no time to listen to the problems of their constituents. And in the current electoral system, the people have no choice but to suffer this candidate for 5 years. We want to create an alternative. We will enact a Right to Recall law wherein the common man does not have to wait for 5 years to remove a corrupt MLA or MP from office. People can complain to the election commission anytime to recall their representative and call for fresh elections. 4) Political DecentralizationThe biggest problem facing our democracy today is that no one in government can or wants to hear the common man's basic needs. This is the situation in the whole of our country. People need basic amenities and the government provides something else. Decisions affecting millions of common Indians are taken by a few select leaders of the ruling party in Parliament. Democracy has become a slave of the leader of the ruling-party. We believe that good governance happens when people have the power to influence decisions that shape their life. This is a major change that India needs badly. No present day party will usher in this systemic change. For this very reason, our anti corruption movement has been forced to enter politics. Today all big and small decisions that affect the nation are taken by a few select members of this body of governance. Once the ruling party comes to power, a few top leaders at the head of the party and a handful of influential corporate honchos decide all policies. Where is the voice of the common man in this decision making process? There is no Right to Recall in our country today. So once we elect a leader, we are stuck with him for 5 years. And this gives the current breed of politicians enough time to loot the resources of the country. Is this the true meaning of Democracy? Of course not. In a true democracy The people have the power. Governments should be responsible to the people, not the other way around. This is the goal of Aam Aadmi Party - to give the power back in the hands of the people of India. This is SWARAJ or self rule - but can it be done practically? The answer is YES! SWARAJ and decentralisation of power can be done in a fully democratic system and many countries in the world have done it. India can also create a system which makes the government directly responsible to the people. Aam Aadmi Party aims to decentralise the system of governance in such a way that people can influence the policies that affect their local area. All the provisions to create SWARAJ are defined in the Constitution of India. All it takes is the political will to implement the spirit of the Constitution on the ground level. No political party in India today will do this. It is this corrupt and selfish current political system, that forms the Executive pillar of our democracy, that we aim to change. How are we different?1) There is no central high command in Aam Aadmi party. The party structure follows a bottom to top approach where the council members elect the Executive Body and also holds the power to recall it. 2) No MLA or MP of this party will use red lights or any other beacons on his or her vehicles. 3) No MLA or MP of this party will use any special security. We believe that elected people's representatives need the same security as a common man. 4) No MLA or MP of our party will live in opulent and luxurious government housing. 5) No one would need to buy an election ticket in our party. Candidates contesting elections from an area will be selected by the people of that area. 6) In all political parties today criminals and mafia goons are given election tickets. Such people will never be given tickets in our party. A thorough screening process will ensure that no one with a criminal record or proven corruption charges could stand for elections from our party. 7) This party will function with full financial transparency. Every single rupee collected by donations to run this people's party will be publicly declared on the party's website and all expenditures will also be declared on the website. 8) Every member of the Aam Aadmi party will have to follow a strict internal code of conduct or internal Lokpal. This independent body will be headed by 3 jurists and other eminent personalities with impeccable public records and will investigate charges of corruption, crime, substance abuse and moral turpitude against all office bearing members of the party. Any citizen can present proof of wrongdoing against a party member. If internal Lokpal finds the party member guilty, he or she will be subjected to appropriate disciplinary action as decided by the internal Lokpal. 9) No two members of the same family will be eligible to contest elections in our party and no two members of the same family can become members of the Executive Body. 10) Today we give our vote to a candidate, he or she wins the election, and then they disappear from our life. Today most elected representatives make no time to listen to the problems of their constituents. And in the current electoral system, the people have no choice but to suffer this candidate for 5 years. We want to create an alternative. I read this article on a website! i don't completely agree with this but its still worth reading for those people who think science can replace god. here are some facts you should learn before comparing god with a human & how he can only be in a human form to reach and teach us.
WHERE IS GOD?
Where is God? People say, "show me God." But if God is invisible, how can he show himself?
Where is God? Show me GodImagine there are two people on a flat piece of paper. These people are two-dimensional, having height and width but no depth; the paper is the extent of their world. Can they see you? No. They can see only what's on the paper (in their world). They have no depth perception. Now pretend you use your finger to touch the paper. Now can they see you? They cannot see all of you, but they can see the tip of your finger, the part that has entered their world.
Where is God? God is Hidden
That is an analogy of our situation with God. God exists outside our dimensions. He can exist outside of time and space as we know it. Therefore, it is difficult to "see" Him. We are like the flat people on the two-dimensional paper. We can't see what's in a third dimension. But in this case, we exist in four dimensions (height, width, depth, time), and God exists beyond that.
So how are we to know such a Being? Just as the "flat people" on the paper could not know about you unless you touched the paper, we cannot detect God unless he reveals himself. He must "touch the paper" of our world. God has to step down in dimensions.
Where is God? The Invisible God Revealed
As we study human history, especially religious history, do we find any instances where God "touched the paper" of our world? Consider that God's "finger" has touched our world in a person known as Jesus Christ. Jesus claimed to be God1, said that to see him was to see God2, said that he was the only person who had come directly from God to our world3, and forgave people of their sins, which only God can do.4 Many other passages of the New Testament affirm Jesus' deity.5 He was God who "became flesh and made his dwelling among us."6 He is the "image of the invisible God."7
If we are the "flat people" it makes sense that the multi-dimensional Creator God entered our four-dimensional world by becoming a human being. He revealed himself to us. But why would God do that?
Where is God? Why He Came
There is a story told of an old farmer who lived by himself in a cabin. Next to his cabin was a barn. One very cold wintery night, birds began to crash into the windows of his warm cabin, trying to escape the deadly cold. So the old man went outside and opened the barn door. It was warm inside the barn. He waved his arms and shouted at the birds to go into the barn, into safety. But they did not understand him.
It was then that the old man wished that he could become one of them. If he could become a bird, then he could lead the other birds into the barn, to avoid death. And at that moment the old farmer understood why Jesus had come. Though the old man could not become a bird, God could become a man. So he did. "For God so loved the world that he sent his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life."8

Anand Karaj (Punjabi: ਅਨੰਦ ਕਾਰਜ, anand kāraj) is the Sikh marriage ceremony, meaning "Blissful Union" or "Joyful Union", that was introduced by Guru Amar Das. The four Lavan (marriage hymns which take place during the marriage ceremony) were composed by his successor, Guru Ram Das.
The history of Anand marriage ceremony is traced back to the time of Guru Amar Das (1479--1574), who composed the long 40 stanza hymn Anandu, in the Ramkali measure, suitable to be sung or recited on all occasions of religious import. His successor, Guru Ram Das, composed a four stanza hymn, Lavan, which is recited and sung to solemnize nuptials
Guru Amar Das (Gurmukhi: ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰ ਦਾਸ) (5 May 1479 -- 1 September 1574) was the third of the Ten Gurus of Sikhism and was given the title of Sikh Guru on 26 March 1552. Guru Amar Das Ji became Sikh Guru at the age of 73 following in the footsteps of his teacher Sri Guru Angad Dev Sahib Ji, who died on 29 March 1552 at age 48.
Guru Amar Das ji established his headquarters in the town of Goindwal Sahib, which was established by Sri Guru Angad Dev Sahib Ji. Guru Amar Das Ji strongly discouraged the caste system. He raised the status of women by prohibiting the practice of Sati (a wife's suicide on her husband's funeral pyre) and "Parrda" (veil covering the face).
He created the prayer ritual called Anand Sahib, which is one of the Five Banis recited daily. He also contributed 907 hymns to the Sri Guru Granth Sahib!
Guru Amar Das Ji established 22 branches called Manjis and appointed a local Sikh preacher for each location.
Guru Amar Das ji died on 1 September 1574(1574-09-01) (aged 95) in Amritsar, Punjab and was succeeded by Guru Ram Das (4th Guru of Sikhism).
The 4 verses of Lavan explain the four stages of love and married life. After translation into English the Lavan quartet or the Sikh epithalamium would read as follows:
First Lavan (Emphasizes the performance of duty to the family and the community) By the first nuptial circuiting The Lord sheweth ye His Ordinance for the daily duties of wedded life The Scriptures are the Word of the Lord, Learn righteousness, through them, And the Lord will free ye from sin. Hold fast to righteousness, Contemplate the Name of the Lord, Fixing it in your memory as the scriptures have prescribed. Devote yourselves to the Perfect and True Guru. And all your sins shall depart. Fortunate are those whose minds Are imbued with the sweetness of His Name, To them happiness comes without effort; The slave Nanak proclaimeth That in the first circling The marriage rite hath begun.
Second Lavan (Signifies the stage of yearning and love for each other) By the second circumambulation, Ye are to understand that the Lord Hath caused ye to meet the True Guru, The fear in your hearts has departed; The filth of selfness in your minds is washed away, By having the fear of God and by singing His praises I stand before Him with reverence, The Lord God is the soul of the universe! There is naught that He doth not pervade. Within us and without, there is One God only; In the company of saints Then are heard the songs of rejoicing. The slave Nanak proclaimeth that in the second circling Divine Music is heard.
Third Lavan (Signifies the stage of detachment or Virag) In the third roundabout, There is a longing for the Lord And detachment from the world. In the company of the saints, By our great good fortune, We encounter the Lord. The Lord is found in His purit, Through His exaltation, Through the singing of His hymns. By great good fortune we have risen. In the company of the saints Wherein is told the story Of the Ineffable Lord. The Holy Name echoes in the heart: Echoes and absorbs us. We repeat the Name of the Lord, Being blessed by a fortunate destiny Written from of old on our foreheads. The slave Nanak proclaimeth That in the third circling The love of God has been awakened in the heart.
Fourth Lavan (Signifies the final stage of harmony and union in married life during which human love blends into the love for God) In the fourth walk-around, The mind reaches to knowledge of the Divine And God is innerly grasped: Through the Grace of the Guru We have attained with ease to the Lord; The sweetness of the Beloved Pervades us, body and soul. Dear and pleasing is the Lord to us: Night and day our minds are fixed on Him. By exalting the Lord We have attained the Lord: The fruit our hearts desired; The Beloved has finished His work. The soul, the spouse, delighteth in the Beloved's Name. Felicitations fill our minds; The Name rings in our hearts: The Lord God is united with His Holy Bride. The heart of the Bride flowers with His Name. The slave Nanak proclaimeth That in the fourth circling We have found the Eternal Lord. (SGGS 773 -74)

ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ (20 ਸਤੰਬਰ 1905 - 3 ਮਈ 1978)[੧] ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਗਤੀਵਾਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਰੋਮਾਂਸਵਾਦੀ ਸਾਹਿਤਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਪਾਦਕ ਸਨ। ਵਧੇਰੇ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਕਵੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਹੈ। ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਅਸਲ ਅਰਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਆਧੁਨਿਕਤਾ ਦਾ ਆਗਾਜ਼ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਰਾਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਭਾਈ ਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ[੨] ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਕਵੀ ਮੰਨ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਅੰਤਰਵਸਤੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਧਕਾਲ ਦੇ ਕਾਵਿ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਨਵੇਂ ਮੁਹਾਵਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਰਵਾਇਤੀ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਦਹਿਲੀਜਾਂ ਟੱਪਕੇ ਨਵੀਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਵਿਆਪੀ ਚੇਤਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਪਾਠਕ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਜੋੜਿਆ। ਅੱਧੀ ਸਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਸਮਾਂ ਉਹ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਗਤੀਵਾਦੀ ਕਵੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਹਸਤੀ ਬਣੇ ਰਹੇ। ਫ਼ਾਰਸੀ ਦੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਰਦੂ-ਫ਼ਾਰਸੀ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੁਝ ਕਵਿਤਾਵਾਂ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਪਾਠਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੱਲੋਮੱਲੀ ਯਾਦ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੁੜੀ ਪੋਠੋਹਾਰ ਦੀ, ਛੱਤੋ ਦੀ ਬੇਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਬੀ ਦੇ ਬੂਟੇ ਥੱਲੇ।
ਜੀਵਨੀ ਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ 20 ਸਤੰਬਰ 1905 ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਨਗਰ ਹੋਤੀ ਮਰਦਾਨ (ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ) ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੱਦੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਰਾਵਲਪਿੰਡੀ ਨੇੜੇ ਧਮਿਆਲ ਹੈ। ਕਵੀ ਦੀ ਬਚਪਨ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੱਖ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੁਚੀ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਈ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਮੀਰਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਗਰੀਬ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਮਾਣਿਆ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਦੀ ਭਾਵੁਕਤਾ ਦੀ ਨੁਹਾਰ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਤਿਖੇਰੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਦੀ ਬੇਵਕਤੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਲਿਖਣਾ ਆਰੰਭ ਦਿੱਤਾ। 3 ਮਈ 1978 ਨੂੰ ਓਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
