Every Day thousands and millions of baby are born. We have only 365 days in a year and the population is in millions and just do some math and find how many babies are born every day. And each new born baby whether its a girl or a boy a name is given to him/her which identifies the baby for rest of his/her life.

Really !! It is such an important thing in ones life and few parents just pick the name randomly. But responsible parents usually devote some time to pick a name.

In most of the communities naming child has to go through some kind of custom/religious practices and yes, Yes more than 60% of the world names ( or at least the first Alphabet of the name ) are picked through community/custom the respective family follows.

Sikh baby names or child born in Sikh family is no exclusion to this. So how a child gets his name ?

Why do we go to a Sikh Gurudwara ( Sikh Temple/Church/Place of worship ) to name a new born baby?

Yar eh keho jiha punjabi jihnu is gal da e ni pta aje tak.
esnu kehnde ne guru ji age apne aap nu smarpit kar dena . Ik sikh apne bache de namkaran lai guru ji age ardas karda te guru ji to agya lai k guru ji duara dite gye shabad to nam rakhda.
Eh ta devotion d ik example e kai gursikh ta apna har karj guru ji de hukm anusar matlab guru ji da hukumnama lai k shuru karde ne.
