No comments on that :hehe:

i can read and write punjabi so don't judge :hehe: know good enough to teach my kids :D: i've been to those schools they dont teach you much i like the way they teach you how to pronounce gurmukhi words the right way because i have hard time reading path at times other than that i didn't think its all that great i wouldn't pay $3500 to send one kid to learn punjabi not worthed! they'll just take a semester of punjabi in college and thats probably gonna barely cost them about 800-1000 oh still cheap :hehe:

wow! that's a huge amount. I don't think we have such schools here in US or maybe i'm not aware of them :loll: The gurughars i've been to in multiple cities throughout my childhood ...used to charge from $50-100 for admissions every year and they used to teach you basic punjabi/gurmukhi and how to do path (santhyea diti jandi) ...

but i have heard that in Canada its different they have their whole school system going on at the side of gurughar...like i know one in surrey  i don't remember the name but they have like k-12th classes there and for that i would say they need money because gurughar is a non-profit organization...and if your going to have kids attending k-12th grade how are teachers going to be paid? where as public schools are funded by government.

if i was a parent i wouldn't send my kid to such school...i'll teach them punjabi myself :hehe:

making a plan is easy but executing is another story - as long as you have the financial and the will power to do it, any small business can flourish. To what kind of business you want to run has to come in from with-in, which would actually motivate you to get things done, rahter than to chase it to on the pure basis of profit.

of course, but one must have a plan in order to start anything lol and yes in a business kind of situation financial and motivation plays a huge role

nice topic,

nice views that everyone has shared above :)

i have to agree that we come from very rich culture...although it is a shame that we want to change everything about it now a days...i understand that cultures change somethings seem to be added and others seem to be left out ...however to me it seems like Punjabi culture is changing at a very fast phase...i wouldn't say if its for the good or bad..because i'm not too sure about that...there is nothing wrong in a change as long as it fits with it but some of the changes seems to be too drastic maybe just the way i look at it ...

i like what gill galib said toward the end of his post

sirf puratan pehrave paun naal hi punjabi sabheyachaar show nhi hunda ,mehnat ,lagn te haunsla ,sade sabheyachaar di pehchaan hai ,all over the world ,punjabi apni ese hadd todvi mehnat ker k hi pehchane jande ne ,hun ajj de time ch ese cheez nu apnaun di jaroorat hai ,

I was kinda pushed into work at young age...at first i had no interest then it turned out i'm damn good at it :hehe: and felt like an obligation anyhow now that i have experience of at least that adds up to 7-8 years if not more..it definitely has killed my social life lol but no regrets because it has helped someone who means the world to me although gotta say it was difficult to stay in school and handle all this along with my other work(internships)n all but having some stress is good :loll:...anyhow i'll add more later if i feel like it :hehe:

hun main te kerfu ne business kholna :hehe:

but i still want to open an small inn somewhere in the east maybe CT,MA, ME or VT  8->  :hehe:

This is such a nice topic, why you guys delete it.

I'd want to have a programming shop, but then again I don't want the hassle of losing my other activities. It's hard being an entrepreneur.

it was deleted due to irrelevant replies :) within the hour it was posted..

anyhow yeah i do agree being an entrepreneur is not an easy job..a lot of stress can be involved along with killing most of social life lol anyhow it still is one of the pretty hot topics that some people do prefer to work for themselves than others.

Nice Ideas Kudrat bhen. Thanks for sharing your views.

I wouldn't say one has to necessarily share the ideas for the kind of business they want to open... you can discuss the problems one may face or just the advantages and disadvantages of being an entrepreneur and/or the type of business that have been successful being a small business in whatever area if you would like to mention the location..location does matter to every business place.

and yeah the comments that have been deleted now and were there before hand ...i would like to add trust me, i  didn't make this topic to steal anyone's ideas :hehe: i already have a business i just choose to slack off because i can :hehe: other than that i know the topic lacks the right usage of words but it was only for the sake to get an discussion started.
