News Khabran / Seminar on Role of IT and New Media in Education by WDF

“There is no department in education which is not influenced by the information technology and new media” said Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios while inaugurating two days seminar on role of IT and New Media in Education at India International Centre in New Delhi. “The four other mediums of Media like Print, Radio, Television and Cinema are also now addicted to the fifth brother New Media. These mediums cannot be separated” Marwah added giving case study of his own organizations.

The seminar is organized by World Development Foundation, NGO committed to sustain and enrich the lives of the poor and socially excluded for the development and education of unprivileged under the leadership of Dr.H.O.Srivastava. The other speakers who spoke on the occasion wereYogesh Kochhar Director Microsoft Corp., S.N.Goswami MD ML Asia,  Dr Malti Goel advisor to Govt. of India.

The foundation later distributed cash prizes to three poor parents for the education of their children. The inaugural program closed with the handing over the Life Time Achievement award to broadcaster Padamshri H.S. Jolly and Padambhushan Jasdev Singh.


The two days seminar will cover the topics, discussion and workshop on New Media for Science, Community Radio, Content Development, Content Policy, Content Production etc.and A.K.Bhatnagar, Dr.R.Shreedhar, Abhilaksh Lekhi, R.K.Singh, Yogendra Pal, Dimitri Fague, P.S.Sundram, Bandana Mukhopadhyay, Anita R. Gautam, Sajan Venyoor, T.R. Malakar, Dr.B.K.Jha, L.S.Bajpai, Rajiv Shukla will be the speakers.

The ICFF promoted by Marwah Studios and supported by education centers like AAFT,ASMS and ABS has joined hands with Lioness Club of Noida—Navsankalp to promote education and awareness for the unprivileged children through films.

Recently two medical camps were organized in Noida at Agahapur sec 41 and Barat Ghar sec 31 where not only people donated their blood, more than 100 patients were treated at no cost basis by the doctors of Kailash Hospital followed by screening of information and educational films by ICFF.

“I am in Lioness Club to help people, to promote all those who cannot afford, and educate people to live happily” said Veena Jaruhar President of Lioness Club. “My association with International Children’s Film Forum is going to enhance our activities” Veena added.

“It is my duty to take care of unprivileged children to best of my capacity as they are my country men. We should not see for what others have done for me rather you should be cautious what you have done for others” said Sandeep Marwah, Chairperson of the forum and President of Marwah Studios while launching AWARE INDIA program to educate and promote citizens of India living in villages and slums through GOOD CINEMA at Marwah Studios with the large gathering of volunteers from different colleges.

The voluntary body of students of Asian School of Media Studies YES, Young Energetic Society which has already become National Body has joined in this aware India program with ICFF .The president Souvik informed all the volunteers to work whole heartily in this venture. “I am not only supporting but would like to be present in every screening at every village and slum to guide my students of ASMS and other colleges” said R.K.Singh Dean of ASMS.

“I want to be the part of this work without second thought” said Ashok Srivastava, known socialist from Noida. “We are ready to add more management to this venture through Asian Business School” said Latika Sahani Dean ABS .International Children’s Film Forum has started showing meaningful films to slums and villages in Noida from the collection of Marwah Films and Video Productions.

Radio Noida 107.4FM in association with Asian Academy of Film and Television, Asian School of Media Studies, Asian Business School, International Children’s Film Forum, IFTC, IFTRC, World Development Organization, COMCON, Media Lab Asia organized national seminar on the opportunity and challenges of running community radio.

The seminar which was divided into four segments saw many prominent speakers from all over India who gave their point of views, suggestions, case studies, actual working and describe their problems. “I am proud to be associated with the group which believes in social work of the highest order” said Lt. Gen. K.M. Seth, the former Governor of Chattisgarh while inaugurating the seminar.

It was a scene to be seen at Film City Noida when hundreds of young good looking trained and untrained actors linedup in front of Marwah Studios to get selected in the newly launched television serials by Balaji Tele Films, Mumbai.

“We are happy to provide our infrastructure and facility to Balaji Telefilms for this huge selection” said Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios where special arrangements of security were performed to control this large crowd gathered from Delhi, Noida and all neighboring States.

This is a normal practice of Marwah Studios to plan and organize professional campus interviews for the students of all disciplines of Film, TV and Media learning at Asian Academy of Film and Television and Asian School Of Media studies including for the management students of Asian Business School.

Some of the prominent companies like Anil Kapoor’s Production for feature film ‘Ayesha’, Sharukh Khan’s Red Chilies new television serial ‘FAUJI’ reality show BIG BOSS etc have conducted campus interviews at Marwah Studios.

Asian School of Media Studies, Noida in association with World Development Foundation has decided to organize a national seminar on community Radio covering opportunities and challenge on 10th march at Marwah studios, informed R.K.Singh the dean of ASMS.

“We have requested Lt Gen K.M. Seth, the former Governor of Chattisgarh to inaugurate this National event” R.K.Singh added. ”The workshop will focus on government scheme of CRS, the policy guide lines, use of community radio, hardware and software issues and content development” said Sandeep Marwah president of Marwah Studios and President of this National Seminar.

“Radio is a very powerful technology that can allow information to reach large sector of the population quickly and economically” said Marwah. The seminar is supported by Radio Noida 107.4FM, Comcon Technologies, Asian Business School, AAFT, International Film and Television Club, International Children’s Film Forum and International Film and Television Research Centre. There will be large number of participants and speakers from all over the country.

Narrating the activities of Marwah Studios, the president Sandeep Marwah invited one of the biggies of Hollywood Samuel Jackson to India.“I love Bollywood Films” Samuel said “I would love to come to India when there is a film event or a film festival” he added. “I am happy to meet media guru Sandeep Marwah who has been teacher to 7000 media persons and that too from 70 countries of the World.” He expressed his keen ness to be associated with Indian Film Industry.

The renowned Asian Media personality Sandeep Marwah, the President of Marwah Studios has been nominated as member of International Jury representing India in 26th edition of Festival International Du Film D' Amour.
 
"Its a great honour for me to represent my country in FIFA, a prestigios film festival of the World having its 26th edition at Mons, Belgium" said Sandeep Marwah President Marwah Studios and World Record Holder of producing largest number of short films.He is the President of Asian Academy of Film and Television, a film school which has churned out 7000 media professional in last 18years hailing from 70 countries .

A annual joint venture of AAFT, ASMS, ASGA and ABS prepared and conducted by the students to express their talent and practice was held at Marwah Studios attended by students of all the 30 courses of the campus.

Speaking on the occasion in a jam packed hall the President of the Asian Education Society Sandeep Marwah encouraged students to frame more programs like this which are very healthy for the personality development of the students. Sandeep Marwah sanctioned more funds for student’s welfare this year which also includes student competitions and participation in India and Abroad. “He who does not believe in Entertainment and music is not human being” said Marwah

“More than 100 short documentary films received on various issues of disability from all over the World and the preview Committee of We Care Filmfest 2010 finalized 32 short films for screening during the film festival which will be moving to all over India. Each documentary film has a story to tell, tales of dogged human spirit that has trumped against all odds” said Sandeep Marwah president of WECARE FILM FEST 2010 .

The huge crowd of young film makers from all over India and abroad lined up to enter into the festival theatre at Marwah Studios to look into this third International festival of Mobile Phone Cinema where more than 500 entries have been received from all over the World. “I am excited that the festival has become popular worldwide in just three years, no doubt that our team from AAFT,ASMS,ABS and ASGA has done a great job in making this event so attractive.” said Sandeep Marwah president of Marwah Studios.

The festival organized by International Film and Television Club inaugurated by the renowned writer, producer, editor and director N.Chandra who has given some of the finest films like Ankhush, Tezab, Pratighat, Narasimha, Humlaa, Beqabu, Yeh Mera India etc and presided over by American film director Karl Bardosh.

 “I am amazed by the ideas these mobile films have thrown to all of us to elaborate into full length feature films.” said N. Chandra, also the jury member of  the festival while addressing the audience, national press and media personalities present there.. “I am associated with the festival from the beginning and happy to see it growing year by year. The Final result for Non Feature Film Category Awards was handed over to Smt Ambika Soni Minister of Information and Broadcasting , Government of India by the jury in Shastri Bhawan. " I am aware of the hard efforts of the jury and non stop screening of the films,and the clear and sincere intentions has brought these results to the nation" said Minister in the press conference.

‘AFSPA 1958’ was adjudged the Best Non-Feature Film for the courageous depiction of the non-violent resistance of the people of Manipur. Vinoo Choliparambil would be awarded under the category ‘Best First Non-Feature Film of a Director’s for his film Vitthal. Films Division produced ‘The Assassination of Rajiv Gandhi – A Reconstruction’ has been selected under the category ‘Best Biographical / Historical Reconstruction’ / Compilation film’. Another Films Division work ‘The Land of Rupshupas’ was selected under Best Agriculture Film category. Film & Television Institute of India’s produced ‘Trip’ will be awarded as best scientific film. FTII’s ‘Stations’ was also selected as Best Short Fiction Film. Manoj Kannoth gets the Award for Best Editing for ‘Stations’. Children’s Film Society of India produced Prince and the Crown of Stones was selected as the Best Animation Film. The Best Direction Award goes to Umesh Kulkarni for his work ‘Three of Us’. ‘ Three of Us’ also got the award for Best Cinematography.

Ninety Nine entries for non-feature film section were viewed by jury headed by Ms Arunaraje Patil and Shri Krishnendu Bose, Shri Anirban Dutta, Shri Sandeep Marwah, Shri R.V. Ramani, Shri Sarfaraz Siddiqui and Ms. Neena Mohan as members.

"We have gone through each and every entry throughly,discussed every film, analyised every screening and then come to the decision before declaring the results" said Sandeep Marwah,the jury member. The renowned film and TV personality President of Marwah Studios Sandeep Marwah has been nominated by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India as member of Jury for National Award Non Feature films Category. This section contains Documentaries, Short fiction and non fiction films and Animation films. Marwah has already created an International record of producing largest number of short films in the World.

“The final screening of around 100 films competing for 22 categories, have been received from all over India.” said S.M Khan Director of Directorate of Film Festivals. “I am proud to be part of National Award Jury, It has given me immense pleasure that Government of India has recognized my efforts in Entertainment Industry” said Sandeep Marwah who is also the Director of Asian Academy of Film and Television in Noida.

The First Pravasi Film Festival came to an end with the presence of Basu Chatterjee, Rahul Rawail, Satish Kaushik, Sandeep Marwah Manoj Bajpai, Meera Nair and many other dignities who all were there to mark there presence to give industry’s recognition to this first Pravasi film festival at Habitat Centre in New Delhi.

LIFE GOES ON by Sangita Dutta won the best feature film, SHOR directed by D.K.Krishna and Raj Nidimoru best short film and FLYING SIKH was declared as best Short Film Fiction .Around 30 films in total were screened in the festival in feature and non feature category. CHEHRE by Rohit Kaushik was the closing film of the ceremony.

The Annual program of festival of short films was celebrated with great pomp and show.

“This is the best way not only to encourage students of the college but also to market their product” said Sandeep Marwah president of Marwah Studios while inaugurating the 5th festival of short films directed by the students of ASMS.

The lamp was lighted by the students of ASMS breaking all the old traditions of the college. “We believe that students should be able to write, shoot, direct and edit their own programs when they are out of the institution” said Harshvardhan, vice President of ASMS. “We are keen in developing all facilities within campus so that our student of Cinema, Journalism, Multimedia and Electronic Media not only learn the best but give the best to industry” said R.K. Singh Dean ASMS.

“No media person can be successful unless he is disciplined himself” said Rahul Sehgal the associate dean of Cinema, Asian School of Media Studies. “We are here to look after the needs of students who have been provided World Class infrastructure to direct these films” added A.K.Goorah, the HOD Cinematography. The Students of all streams were present to appreciate the films. The program was well covered by Radio Noida 107.4FM.
