Really rare kind of disease.. I guess becoz love shown by his wife is one of the aggravating factor in this man so there must be some emotional conflicts b/t him and his wife..
This looks like totally neurotic case and this person is trying to resent from emotional responsibility which he is expected to perform.. so reasons r personal..
But his wife need to play important role in this case and try to understand and listen to him.. this is the only psychotherapy which cud be useful and dont give much attention to his narcolepsy and cataplexy and even shud not come for these kind of interviews.. i guess.
