This is not typically a science but more of an art.... yes, it is based on few observations but its not universal. Every culture has its own kind of predictions..and i love reading different kind of stuff.. :happy:
This art is an ancient one and was practiced by the Greek astrologer Hippocrates, the master of zodiac signs. Mole reading is also widely popular in Chinese astrology.
As i can see ur curiosity u can read one nice book related to this,Author(-Harry De Windt, Pearson, 1909 :happy:

 The study of moles is called Moleosophy.The location of a mole, its size, shape and colour can be interpreted as indicators of your character,as well as generalities for the future. SIGNIFICANCE OF MOLES ON FACE-Position 1 to 3 As a child, you are somewhat rebellious and a free spirit.
