I think the Toughest Question and almost 50% of your interview is based on one question. When you go on Companies like GM, Toyota or anything multination .. They devolop there question when you answer this question.

- Tell me about yourself.
This has always being my first question whenever i walked into any interview as they want to verify your resume first up(and I have given like more than 50 interviews.. so make sure you perpare for this very well)... You nail this one.. You are half done .. The other questions are just one liners which are like 5-10 mins of your interview if let say the interview is 30 mins. Apart from that the other question that really make a difference is 'What you ask the interviewer'. This is where your creativity is tested.

One of the classic question to ask is - What you like about you job at the given company (lot of the time the answer will be "Variety in the job" :) or how you guys manage team work in a team (if you will working for a Team or something) - Simpler lang and detailed questions are better. Never perpare a question which will screw up the interviewer himself.. Example: You ask a HR lady.. How are you willing to improve the efficiency of your nuclear facility considering tha amount of waste associated with it.. Dont expect an answer cause she is not an engineer  : .. This question should be directed to like Process Improvement Engineer
