Sports Khelan / Re: Offical kabbadi world cup updates nd news :)
« on: December 02, 2012, 02:33:58 PM »could someone explain me the rules? :lost: It seriously looks such a weird game whenever I saw it somewhere :
4 players (stoppers) on each side. <----------- defense
- both teams control their half circle.
- each team sends 1 player (raider) at a time <------------- offense.
- that 1 raider has to touch one of the 4 stoppers and run back to his team's side of "half" circle.
- raider has a corridor to cross so that intersection's center entry point. which is only few meters in length.
- if he does = offensive team scores a point
- if he doesn't = defensive team takes a point.
- he has go through that entry point to secure a point, otherwise no go.
they go back and forth.. and there are halves just like soccer.
- whoever has the most points at the end = winner.
-----------
Additional rules to consider.
- any defensive or offensive players can't go out of ther half circle. IF any1 of them is pushed out then they lose a point.
- raider can only touch one stopper, if he touches more than 1 then he gives up a point to the opposing team
- if a stopper who isn't touched by the raider.. goes after/tries to stop the raider, then stopper gives up a point.
========
Simple way to understand.. imagine playing "TAG" with a physical twist.
- its a very physical sport since players get slapped literally lol.. bashed, taken down, UFC type chok holds, triangle style locks
- you need lot of stamina/strength and also wrestling skills along with speed and quickness.
