Amritsar July 26:
            Two young women were killed by their family members in two separate incidents of honour killing in Punjab.
In Dasuya, a young girl named Nancy was allegedly killed by her father for getting romantically involved with a man named Gagandeep Singh. Her father allegedly administered electricity shocks to his daughter before she died. He also reportedly attacked her lover and injured him severely. The young man is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
The accused was arrested after his wife gave a statement to the police that her husband was guilty of murdering their daughter. In another incident of honour killing in Punjab's Hoshiarpur, a 20-year-old man named Mani Kaushal, allegedly strangled his sister to death and then threw her body in a canal.
During interrogation, Kaushal confessed that he had strangled her sister to death with an electric wire. Police are investigating both the incidents to find out the names of others who may be involved, reports added.
