That's true, it has been observed in ALzheimer's patients at biopsy that the folds in the cerebrum have decreased in size infat are more flatter...corresponding with progressive demetnia and you can relate the rest.

noXious Ji

But how would that relate to village colloquialism; where “akal da mota” and “mota damage” phrases are used, which basically mean you are “thick”? What scientific evidence would there have been for Alzheimer’s or any form of dementia in rural villages in the Punjab?

What I am saying is that both of those sayings have no more scientific explanation as to their origin and root than stating someone is thick. Would you agree with that noXious Ji?

mota dimaag - my definition of the phrase: mota dimaag, since it's thick or even it's used here in the states "thick headed" -> unable to absorb information

noXious Ji

Yes, that is the same here in the good old UK. But that is not the question I am asking. The question is how can you relate "desi" colloquialism, which is centuries old, to modern medical discoveries? It follows that the root of those sayings can't be in modern discoveries.

C'mon noXious Aunty Ji, explain that one!
