Choodiyan (choo_di_aan)

choodiyan are like bangles. but a whole set of em together. i love choodiyan. u can wear them with any indian dress. match them with ur suits. or wear them to parties...or just for da heck of it. they look so cuteeeeeeeeee.... and now a days they have really cute ones in india. like those big bangle kinds...so if u dnt like da clinky clinky sound dat choodiyan make...just get da big bangle. its hotttttttttt :excited:

random tid bits:

 wenever u greet some old person in punjabi u always put ur hands together and say sat shri akal.  :happy:

you always cover ur head with a dupatta ( dat long scarf u wear with indian suits) wen u go to gurudwara (temple) and make sure u take ur shoes off....dont ever just walk into the hall with ur shoes on....dats a big no no :thaa: ull get screamed at lolzzzzzzzz :loll:

adding "ji" to the end of sumtin...shows respect

punjabis love spicy food. :loll:

their most popular dance is called "bhangra"

and for girls most popular is "gidha"

the indian white suit dat a guy wears is called "kurta pajama"

the indian dress dat a lady wears is called "salwar kameez"

now theres differnt types of indian dresses. ill post pics below in order dat their mentioned.

so first ..

1. salwar kameez= long "kameez" (shirt) with salwar (baggy pants) and u always have a dupatta ( dat long scarf)

2. Pajami suit= long kameez or sum ppl call it kurti. and the bottom is kind of like leggings. its called pajami.

3. lengha= traditional dress u wear on ur wedding day (the traditional wedding color is red or maroon for lengha)  or if u wnna just wear it for a party or sumtin.

4. frauk suit= same concept as pajami suit..but da kameez is more like a dress...swirls out towrds da bottom.

utensils used for chapati making

chapati has alot of diff names. u can call it "roti" or "fulke"

punjabi's dont say chapati...dats an english term for roti or fulke.

da rolling pin u use is called belna. and the long silvery tool is chimta. da one u used to flip da roti on its sides.
