main meaning of word feeling is today is very unculture, ya i know real meaning of word is good but present time no one know about real meaning of word,so everyone use this word for flirt,tourche in punjab for girl......

As somebody already mentioned above it is used in Gurbani, it goes like "Prem Patola Tai Sheh Ditta, Taakan Ko Patt Meri" which means Oh Lord, you have given me this piece of cloth (patola) of your love to cover and protect my honor.
Well everything can be seen from both positive and negative perspectives, but it is always good to look at the brighter side. "Patola" the word is not a negative word, in Punjabi it actually means "soft toys" to be more specific in villages it is referred to homemade dolls which are made by putting pieces of cloth together and is made without the use of any plastic.
So when guys use it they might don't even know the actual meaning but they use the word to admire the beauty and softness which they lack in a flirtatious way.
LOL! I just realized I make everything sound so good! :D: :D:
