Cars / Bentley Mulsanne 2011
« on: August 22, 2009, 10:56:38 PM »
Bentley chose the 2009 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance to unveil their next-generation flagship model, the Mulsanne. The vehicle gets its name from a 90 degree corner at the Le Mans race track.

Conceived, styled and engineered entirely at Bentley's headquarters in Crewe, England, the Mulsanne is an entirely new car which features completely new technology. It is not an evolution of an existing model, and the drivetrain required a complete redesign of the famous 6.75L V8 and replacing every significant part to improve acceleration, performance throughout the range and fuel efficiency and emissions.

Currently Bentley have only confirmed the engine is a V8, all other drivetrain specifications will be revealed at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The Bentley Mulsanne's styling was inspired by the Bentley 8-litre model from 1930 - 1931. In particular the unusual, and dare I say rather ugly headlight arrangement was one such feature lifted from the 8-litre. However despite the awkward front end styling there is no doubting the exceptional engineering which lies beneath the imposing bodywork.

Dr. Franz-Josef Paefgen, Chairman and Chief Executive of Bentley Motors, said of the Mulsanne: "The challenge we set our engineers was to create a grand new Bentley that would stand as the pinnacle of British luxury motoring, offering the world's most exclusive driving experience. They have responded to this challenge with real passion and the result is a luxury grand tourer that sets new standards in terms of comfort, effortless performance and hand-crafted refinement – the very qualities for which Bentley is renowned."

With the Mulsanne, Bentley hope to position themselves at the top of the ultra-luxury segment

Cars / PPI Razor GTR Audi R8
« on: August 22, 2009, 10:51:50 PM »
The Razor GTR from Germany based Audi-tuners PPI Automotive is based on the Audi R8.

The PPI Razor GTR was first introduced at the 2008 Essen Motor Show as the R8 Razor show car. After extensive testing and development on the road, track and wind tunnel the show car was transformed into a production ready model with increased power, improved handling and reduced weight over the standard Audi R8.

One of the most important engine modifications is the specially designed supercharger. This unit works in conjunction with the ram-air intake system and a high performance stainless steel sports exhaust which allows the engine to breathe more easily. These new components are precisely regulated to work with each other thanks to a new ignition control unit.

The result is that the supercharged 4.2 litre V8 develops up to 580 hp @ 7,400 rpm and 600 Nm of torque @ 6,200 rpm. This means that the PPI Razor GTR Audi R8 can reach 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds and continue on to 206 mph.

Jokes Majaak / Evils of alcohol
« on: July 23, 2009, 01:25:55 AM »
Will was trying to to teach his son the evils of alcohol.

He put a worm in a glass of water and another in a  glass of whiskey.
The worm in the water lived while the one in the whiskey curled up and died.

"All right, son," Said Will, "what does that show you?"
"Well dad, it shows that if you drink alcohol you will not have worms."

Religion, Faith, Spirituality / Our Parents
« on: July 15, 2009, 05:47:17 AM »
An eighty-year-old man was sitting on the sofa in his house along with his forty-five-year-old highly educated son. Suddenly a crow perched on their window.

The father asked his son, "What is this?"

The son replied, "It is a crow".

After a few minutes, the father asked his son a second time, "What is this?"

The son said, "Father, I have just now told you, it's a crow."

After a little while, the old father again asked his son the third time, "What is this?"

This time, a hint of irritation was heard in the son's tone when he said to his father with a rebuff, "It's a crow, father, a crow!"

A little afterwards, the father again asked his son for the fourth time, "What is this?"

This time the son shouted at his father, "Why do you keep asking me the same question again and again, although I have told you so many times IT'S A CROW! Why can't you understand this?"

A little later the father went to his room and came back with an old tattered diary, which he had maintained since his son was born. On opening it, he asked his son to read that page. The son read the following words written in the diary:

"Today my little son aged three was sitting with me on the sofa when a crow perched on the window. He asked me twenty-three times what it was, and I replied to him all twenty-three times that it was a crow. I hugged him lovingly each time he asked me the same question over and over twenty-three times! I did not at all feel irritated. Rather, I felt affection for my innocent child."
While the little child asked him twenty-three times, "What is this," his father felt no impatience in replying to the same question again and again, but this day, when the father asked his son the same question only four times, the son became irritated and ill-tempered.

So, if your parents attain old age, do not repulse them or look at them as a burden, but speak to them graciously. Be cool, obedient, humble and kind to them, as they were to you when you were a child. Be considerate to your parents.

From today onward, say this aloud: "I want to see my parents happy forever. They have cared for me ever since I was a baby. They have showered their selfless love on me. They sacrificed, crossing mountains and valleys, bearing storms and strife to make me a person presentable in society."

Say a prayer to God: "I will serve my old parents in the best way. I will always speak kindly and courteously to my dear parents, no matter how they behave.”
