you could have got core i3 which is quad core but 2.4 ghz .. this is where it makes difference

Don't worry about CORES all you need is higher frequency

anything below 2 ghz is waste of money
my pc is now 3 years old i got this from ebay USA processor and motherboard for abt 300 Au dollars

its AMD dual core 5600+ X2 athlon

its 2.8 ghz and overclock to 3.1ghz
its faster than my brothers laptop corei3 2.4 ghz with 4 gb DDR3 Ram

i have only DDR2 Ram 667 mhz. im getting new soon .gota save some money . but i can still play all the latest  games :D so doesnt make much difference

replace ur laptop or sell it :D

intel and AMD does the same job.

AMD doesn't advertise whereas Intel is expensive because you end up paying for their advertisement :happy:
