Love Pyar / To Begin With
« on: August 13, 2009, 12:36:47 PM »
To Begin With

Words jump out at me. When I heard someone
today say, "To begin with..." my thoughts
turned to all the possibilities.

To begin with...FAITH!

You cannot say that you have faith if when
you fall you give up. Faith means you
will be given the strength to rise, or the
hand to be lifted up. But don't lie there
waiting. God provides for the smallest
bird, but He doesn't throw the seed into the
nest. They were created to fly.

To begin with...HOPE!

Trust that in all things there is hope. Even
when we cannot see the opportunity, there it
is in the out stretched hand, the listening
ear, the smiling face, the sunrise.

To begin with...LOVE!

If you cannot see love in your life perhaps
you need to put life in your love. Begin
by accepting who you are and all you can be.
This confidence will give you the power to
love outside yourself. Love is not love until
it is given away. To love is to honor God.

To begin with...FRIENDSHIP!

If you want to have friends, BE ONE!
Sometimes friendship, like love, appears one sided.
Sometimes people need more than they give.
Trust that in doing for another the act
is the gift you give yourself.

To begin with...THE PRESENT!

Where you are at the moment is a result of
where you have been. We only have the past
and the present. No one is guaranteed tomorrow.
Learn from yesterday and
begin anew with the Present.

To begin with...LOSS!

Succumb to the feelings of loss. The heart
cannot heal until pain is acknowledged.
Tears are not a sign of weakness
but an acceptance of the reality,
a release for the bereaved.

Faith, Hope, Love and Friendship
will be your strength in the Present.
Even in

loss there is much to be gained.

To begin with...
"I believe in you!"

Gup Shup / Swine Flu (H1N1 Influenza)
« on: August 13, 2009, 12:33:33 PM »
Swine Flu (H1N1 Influenza)
[IMPORTANT INFO ]

What are the symptoms of swine flu?
The symptoms are cough, cold, fever, chills and body ache. These symptoms are not unusual in the rainy season, so it is difficult to identify the viral infection. Confirmation of swine flu infection is possible only by testing the fluids in the throat and nose for H1N1.

Is there any way to prevent swine flu?
The virus spreads via the air when the infected person coughs or sneezes. The droplets of fluid resulting from coughing or sneezing can also get deposited on solid surfaces like doorknobs, tables, etc. A person can get infected if he/she happens to touch those surfaces and then touches his/her mouth or nose. The swine fly attacks the respiratory track. You should avoid public contact or use mask when in crowded areas where there is possibility of infection.
Here is a good source of information: http://www.cdc. gov/h1n1flu/
Pune Swine flu information is available at: http://www.indianex press.com/ news/all- about-swine- flu/495447

In case I have symptoms, where do I get tested for H1N1?
You need to meet the doctors at various designated hospitals for examination.

What procedure do I have to follow at the hospital?

- Locate the Quarantine ward at hospital.
- Meet the doctors for counseling. Doctors would guide you through the process.
- The doctors decide whether you need to be administered the test or not.
- In case you need not be tested, you are free to leave.

What tests are done by the doctors?
- In case you need to go through the test, you need to stay in the quarantine for a day. A sample of saliva is taken on a swab from your throat and nose. This sample is sent to National Institute of Virology (NIV) or other testing centers. NIV tests the sample and declares the result by 3 pm if the sample is sent before 8 am on the same day. The result could be positive or negative or there is no decision.
- In case you are negative, you can go home.
- In case there is no decision, you need to stay one more day in the quarantine. Sample is taken the next day and testing is done.
- In case you are positive, you have H1N1 virus infection. In that case, you need to be in the quarantine ward for five days including the day of testing. Medicines are given to you and doctors visit you two or three times a day. Preventive medication is also given to your family members. On the fifth day, testing is done to confirm that the test is negative.

What do I expect at the quarantine?
- The quarantine area is a hospital ward.
- The hospital provides a bed and masks to you.
- You need to wear a mask all the time.
- Carry a mobile phone so that you can reach your family using the phone.
- Ask your family members to get you food, water and tea/coffee/milk.
- You can take your laptop and reading material so that you can spend your time well during your stay at the hospital.
- Toilets are common for the ward. There is no hot water in the bathroom, so taking bath is optional.
- Your family members cannot meet you. They can meet the attendant and hand over your tiffin to the attendant. The attendant will hand over the tiffin to you.
- If your young child is infected, you can help her/him by being with her/him in the quarantine. You cannot get out during the mandatory period. You need to take medication to prevent the infection and also wear a mask at all times.

Fun Time / Childhood Memories
« on: August 12, 2009, 02:23:24 AM »
I am just looking into my child hood  and I am sure that anybody could relate with me.....

When???

When gulli-danda and kanche (marbles) were more popular than cricket...

When we always had friends to play aais-paais (I Spy),

chhepan-chhepai and pitthoo anytime ....

When chitrahaar, vikram-baitaal, dada daadi ki kahaniyaan were so fulfilling ...

When there was just one tv in every five houses and

When bisleris were not sold in the trains and we were worrying if papas will get back into the train in time or not when they were getting down at stations to fill up the water bottle...

When we were going to bed by 9.00pm sharp except for the 'yeh jo hai jindagi' day...

When Holis & Diwalis meant mostly hand-made pakwaans and sweets and moms seeking our help while preparing them.

When Maths teachers were not worried of our mummys and papas while slapping/beating us...

When we were exchanging comics and stamps and chacha-chaudaris and billus were our heroes...

When we were in nanihaals every summer and loved flying kites and plucking and eating unripe mangoes and leechis ...

When one movie every Sunday evening on television was more than asked for and 'ek do teen chaar' and 'Rajni' inspired us...

When 50 paisa meant at least 10 toffees...

When left over pages of the last years notebooks were used for rough work or even fair work...

When 'chelpark' and 'natraaj' were encouraged against 'reynolds and family'...

When the first rain meant getting drenched and playing in water and mud and making 'kaagaj ki kishtis'...

When there were no phones to tell friends that we will be at their homes at six in the evening...

When our parents always had 15 paise blue colored 'antardesis' and 5 paise machli wale stamps at home...

When we remembered tens of jokes and were not finding 'ice-cream and papa' type jokes foolish enough to stop us from laughing...

When we were not seeing patakhes on Diwalis and gulaals on Holis as air and noise polluting or allergic agents...

The list can be endless...

On the serious note I would like to summarise with...

When we were using our hearts more than our brains,
even for scientifically brainy activities like 'thinking' and 'deciding' ...

When we were crying and laughing more often, more openly and more sincerely...

When we were enjoying our present more than worrying about our future...

When being emotional was not synonymous to being weak...

When sharing worries and happiness’s didn’t mean getting vulnerable to the listener...

When blacks and whites were the favourite colours instead of greys...

When journeys also were important and not just the destinations. ..

When life was a passenger's sleeper giving enough time and opportunity to enjoy the sceneries from its open and transparent glass windows instead of some superfast's /Ac coaches with its curtained, closed and dark windows ...

Men's Guide to Dressing

We all know that men are not quite as adept at fashion as women. In fact guys will pretty much wear anything, anytime, with anything. This creates the false impression that guys just "throw" any old thing on. This however is not the case. As this handy little guide points out, getting dressed is a highly complex and organized ritual for men.

Kal jab mile thhe....
to dil mein hua ek sound.
Aur aaj mile to kehte hain...
your file not found! *

Jo muddat se hota aaya hai,
woh repeat kar doonga...
Tu naa mili to apni zindagi
ctrl+alt+delete kar doonga...

Shayad mere pyar ko
taste karna bhool gaye...
Dil sey aisa cut kiya
ke paste karna bhool gaye...

Laakhon honge nigaah mein
kabhi mujhe bhi pick karo...
Mere pyaar ke icon pe
kabhi to double-click karo...

Roz subha hum karte hain
Pyar se unhe good morning...
Woh aise ghoor ke dekhti hain
jaise 0 errors aur 5 warning...

Aisa bhi nahin hai ke
I don't like your face.
Par dil ke storage mein
No more disk space.

Ghar se jab tum nikale
pehen ke reshmi gown.
Jaane kitne dilon ka
ho gaya Server down ..

Love Pyar / A day without you
« on: July 14, 2009, 12:29:29 PM »
A day without you,
Is a day without me,
For you make me who I am,
And who i want to be.
A day without you,
Is day without light,
For you light up my sky,
And you light up my life.
A day without you,
Is a day without sound,
For i open my ears,
To hear you around.
A day without you,
Is a day without cheer,
For you make me smile,
And you don't cause a tear.
A day without you,
Is a day without sight,
For you open my sight,
For you open my eyes,
And make my world bright.
But a day without you,
Will never be,
Because I trust in you,
That you will never hurt me.

You know u r an Internet Junkie when

When asked to your address, your answer begins with http://

Instead of calling you to dinner, your spouse sends e-mail.

You chat with your fingers, not your mouth.

You use Netscape 8, and you check every week whether version 8 was released

You know the difference between Java and
Javascript.

In order to watch CNN you move to http://www.cnn.com

On your business card the e-mail appears before the phone
number.

You find yourself typing "com" after every period when using a word processor.com

You check your mail. It says "no new messages." So you check it again.

You can perfectly imitate the sound pattern of your modem connecting to your ISP.

You can think of nineteen keystroke symbols that are far more clever than  .

You are told about a new program, and you are disappointed to find that it
is a TV program.

Not only do you check your email more often than your paper mail, but you
remember your network address faster than your postal one.

You wake up at 3 a.m. To go to the bathroom and stop to check your e-mail on
the way back
