There might be good reasons for not cutting your hair. If you consider it a religious duty, a command from the tenth guru, i respect that. However, "that's the way god designed us" is a poor defense for your position. If that's the case, you shouldn't cut your nails either because you are clearly messing with god's design.
About love marriages, i don't see what's wrong with it. Whatever the parents decide for us will not always be good. I know this from personal experience that parents' judgment while selecting a bride/groom for their children can be as bad as the children's own judgment. In fact, parents' judgment is more likely to be wrong because for them marriage is a union of families and not a union of two people. I remember a line from Marhi Da Deeva "Viah bandian de kithe hunde ne Raunkia, viah hunde ne gharan de, zameena de, jaidaadan de." For parents, what matters the most is the caste, status, financial position, etc of the family. Vicholas make it worse by lying about the bride/groom. If the family is from "kaneda" nothing else matters.
Now i don't support ditching your parents to marry the person of your choice, but if my parents want to marry me to a person i don't like, I'm never doing that. That will ruin my life and that of the girl i marry. Reminds me of my dad's friend who was approached by a punjab police DGP with a lot of clout. He came with 5 gypsies and some high level politician form the Badal family for vicholagiri. He had heard about his genius son who just passed out from IIT. The DGP offered him 5 crores cash and a post of DSP in punjab police for his son. His son refused because he loved another girl. Till this day, the father curses his son for turning down that rishta and calls his daughter in law with all sorts of derogatory names. He doesn't care that his son is now happy living with the girl he likes. Both are in US now where he's doing his Ph.D and the girl is doing MBA. What more does he want? Is that why he gave his son a good education, so that he could cash him out for 5 crores one day? I say to heck with such greedy parents!
About the last part of your post (no this, no that), i will respond by just adding more NO's to that list.
NO honor killings
NO female foeticide
NO dowry/killing girls for not brining dowry (yes that still happens)
NO ripping off each others' turbans in Gurudwaras
NO looking down upon members of perceived lower casts (this is especially for my jatt brothers)
NO shoving your beliefs down other people's throats.
about the nails.. Ive heard this one b4.. Guru ji did ask you to comb right? clipping you nails is similar keeping yourself hygenically clean

Yes, he should definitely go fulfill his duties to all places he is invited. Guru Nanak Dev ji were invited to do namaz by Nawab Daulat Khan and his Qazi, and Guru ji went and did namaz with them. Namaz is a prayer to God, why would Guru Nanak Dev ji say no.
Hanji veerji, duje dia bhavanava layi, rabb de pyar layi jarur os ceremony te jayo jithey tusi rab nu yaad kar sako.
Ethey gal fasdi aa veerji. Manmohan Singh ne "moorti pooja" keeti shivling di. Te jina kuch tusi boleya, menu oston parhke lagda ke tuhanu pata Guru Nanak Dev ji moorti pooja de sakht khilaf san.
Guru Nanak Dev ji ne Aarti likhi hai, ke ik Sikh/Disciple Rabb di aarti kidhan karda hai.

For me, this is pretty low of Manmohan Singh. He's doing what Guru Nanak Dev ji forbid us from doing. I've fairly defended Manmohan Singh for being a Sikh in the past, but after seeing this, I strongly feel he shouldn't sacrifice his Sikhi values at any cost for the "vote" or the "acceptance" of people.
grenade bai tho Guru Nanak dev ji went there.. he never read namaz himself.. from wat I remem he told the qazi and the nawab that tho they were reading it .. their mind was somewhere else... baaki regarding manmohan singh .hes the prime minister aa and i see nothing wrong je oh puja wich shamil hoye.
