News Khabran / Re: Under the Weather? Just Swallow A Doctor« on: January 30, 2010, 06:27:31 AM »I don't know much about nanotechnology except that it means the creation of artificial devices on the smallest of imaginable scales. Like a nanometer is juss one billionth of a meter, about 10 times the size of an atom. Nanotechnology is an engineering on the molecule level, engineering that involved quantum physics, chemistry, biology and supercomputing. One of my teacher is associated with such research and about a Year back, I had the honour of visiting this nano research lab. They work totally sterlized atmosphere. Like fluoroscent strip lights, hving very high unltraviolet components juss to kill surface germs. Holiest thing in that lab was the inner core, visible only through sealed observation windows. This was a chamber full ofmirror bright stainless teel tanks, mobile equipments loaded with pumps, valvess and sensor devices. My teacher told me that in the world of nanotechnology, humans were the source of danger and contamination. A falling flake of skin, a hair follicle, the wafted particles of moisture beathed out in casual conversation or a sneeze all could wreak havoc on the nanoscale, releasing oils, acids, alkalines and enzymes that could poison the manufacturing process. Humans are also a rich source of bacteria, fast growing organisms that could consume production boths, clog filters, and even attack the developing nanodevices. But fortunately necessary work could be done remotely from outside the core and the control and sample preparation chambers. They are working on medical nano devices, what they called nanophages, those wud hunt down and kill cancer cells and disease causing bacteria. I dun know the present state of their research but they badly failed in early testing because the nanophages themselves were destroyed by the immune system before they cud do their work. Since then they hd been evaluating different shell configuerations and materials, tying hard to find a combination that would be effctively invisible to the boyd's natural defenses. I though now they hv broken through that obstacle, how to hide it from immune system, though m not that sure as yet. I think they coated nanophages with polysaccharides to overcome theier detection by body's immune system. I dont know more than that. May be you can find something on nanotechnology in your uni library. 3923

One of the greatest mysteries of life surrounds the process of death. No one can be sure what happens when you die, but the final moments of life are usually filled with honesty. Some people are given the chance to prepare for death, while others are not. A person’s final words are extremely revealing. These words give a glimpse into the individual’s overall feelings and experiences. If a person is murdered or dies suddenly, their final words help show exactly what they were thinking and feeling as they passed. It has long been common practice to document the final words of our loved ones. This list documents some famous last words and quotes.
“One last drink, please.” Jack Daniel (1846-1911)Jack Daniel was an American distiller and the founder of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee whiskey distillery “Hey, Jimmie! The Chimney Sweeps. Talk to the Sword. Shut up, you got a big mouth! Please come help me up, Henny. Max come over here. French Canadian bean soup. I want to pay. Let them leave me alone.” Dutch Schultz (1902-1935)Those were the final, nonsensical statements of Mr. Dutch Schultz. He was a New York City-area gangster during the 1920s and 1930s “Now I can cross the shifting sands.” L. Frank Baum (1856-1919)L. Frank Baum was a US author, poet, and playwright best known as the creator of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. “Love one another.” George Harrison (1943-2001)George Harrison was an English rock musician, singer-songwriter, and lead guitarist of The Beatles. “My wallpaper and I are fighting a duel to the death. One or the other of us has to go.” Oscar Wilde (1854-1900)Oscar Wilde was an Irish playwright, poet, and author. [/color “Brothers! Brothers, please! This is a house of peace!” Malcolm X (1925-1965)Malcolm X was an African-American Muslim minister, public speaker, and human rights activist. “Money can’t buy life.” Bob Marley (1945-1981)Bob Marley was the lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist of the reggae band Bob Marley & The Wailers. “KHAQQ calling Itasca. We must be on you but cannot see you. Gas is running low. We are on the line 157-337. We will repeat this message. We will repeat this on 6210 kilocycles. Wait.” Amelia Earhart (1897-1937)Amelia Earhart was a noted American aviation pioneer. She was the first woman to receive the Distinguished Flying Cross, which was awarded for becoming the first aviatrix to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. “Don’t worry, they usually don’t swim backwards.” Steve Irwin (1962-2006)Steve Irwin was an iconic Australian television personality, wildlife expert, and conservationist. He created the documentary series, The Crocodile Hunter and was the owner and manager of the Australian Zoo at Beerwah, Queensland. “The taste of death is upon my lips. I feel something that is not of this earth.” Mozart (1756-1791)Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a prolific and influential composer of the Classical era.
