Well, okay I accept that and will say fair comment.

I hope you don’t feel offended or in any way think I was picking an argument; I wasn’t. I was just making an observation in general, you might think that cynical, maybe it is but no offence was intended.

But it is good to debate.

Take care

But of course we aren’t talking about CEO of companies; therefore I am not defining a CEO as such to be a politician.  However we are talking about CEOs of companies, such as Goldman Sachs, who have been appointed to very senior government positions and are unelected. I might be wrong but Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson is one such person. That’s a treasury secretary to the Governments treasury, not some company. I am being very specific here and not taking a scatter gun approach to all CEOs. As you know he and others like him within the Bush Government were extremely powerful within that political regime. We can argue whether these people are politicians or not but what is inescapable is the fact that they play a role in politics. Also, I know what the Civil Service do and what their job is too!!
As to you being a European or American, I have no axe to grind either way. I don’t expect you to agree with me. But what is good is that there is someone at another keyboard who is willing to debate. I thank you for that.

This debate started when u commented that i shud hv included Henry Paulson too. I explained i only listed politicians and Henry Paulson hd never been a politician. He was apointed Treasury Sec. by President Bush and later his appointment was approved by Senate. And he even resigned as CEO of Goldman Sach prior to his appointment.  Questions remain about Paulson's interest, despite the fact that he had no direct financial interest in Goldman, since he had sold his entire stake in the firm prior to becoming Treasury Secretary. I am just stating plain facts and not advocating him. Loads of rumours were spread about him like he was shot at and died but he is still alive and healthy, if i am not wrong. Whether he is corrupt or not has not been established. And secondly he cant be classified as a Politician.

its a long story actually... but for u in short...
One day Martians were looking at Venus through their telescopes. Suddenly they saw remarkably beautiful creatures there. So they decided to go to Venus . They prepared a space craft and took off towards Venus. Finally they landed on Venus. When women on Venus saw them they also responded friendly. there they understand each other’s way of living, needs, thinking, and they succeeded.  They also learnt that they are from different planets and hence they have different life styles, so one must not interfere the others way of thinking and behaving.

One thing which was common in both the creatures was their restless nature. After spending a long time on Venus, both Martians and Venusians felt bore, so they decided to go to another planet named ‘Earth’.  When they entered into Earth’s atmosphere, there came a sudden change in them. Their memory erased and they forgot everything .
When they landed on Earth they forgot that they are from different planets, and they have different way of thinking and behaving. Men demanded women to behave professionally. For men women should behave in a competitive manner and think in men’s style. On the contrary women demanded men to behave in their style, to understand feelings and to leave competency.

Since then they are struggling like this..... :blah:

pretty convincing story  One final question. How men and women reproduced on their respective planets?

Listen mate, perhaps it is different on your side of the pond. In the UK we call it the Civil Service, who are unelected but have a great influence on politics, some of them go onto stand for office. When I used the term "unelected politicians" I used it loosely, but they are there. Now, even you would agree that your equivalent of our Civil Service does have a huge influence on how America is run. As I said already, Paulson and co are, to me, as corrupt as the next guy even though he might be in darkest Africa. Now many would say that they aren't politicians and I suppose on paper they are not, but their influence is uncanny. Don’t worry, we’ve got our own Paulsons over here too.

So that must be our starting point. I am sorry that you should take it personally what I say. Furthermore, if you have brought such a list to this message board - that’s fine; but don’t expect to open a thread and not have another’s opinion posted on said thread, which renders me to feel I don’t have to suggest anything to the NGO Transparency International for the purposes of this discussion with your good self.

But brother, or brother dude if you wish, I’m sure we can agree to disagree and I am sure we will on many other things too without getting our kachi in a twist.

Well it’s that time again. 2am UK time.  Perhaps talk tomorrow. Take care. SSA.

You are giving a whole new turn to this discussion. Bone of contention is u r describing civil servants or CEOs as Politicians which they are not. Politicians make laws while civil servants implement those laws and watch that those laws are followed by CEOs.I dint say CEOs are not corrupt. I said, you cnt define a CEO as a politician and it is correct. Even CEOs and Civil servants are not same. Civil servants work for public while CEOs work for their respective companies. A person is nominated or elected for a political post while a civil servant is appointed. And yea, m not an american like u think. I am an european born n brought up in ur neighborhood, juss 2 hours flying distance from ur country. Well if u still insist to weigh politicians and CEOs on same scale, u can but i dun agree. Period!!!So i listed Politicians in that post and not so called unelected politicians or CEOs.

Why they say behind a succesful man there is a woman ?

" A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend. A successful woman is one who can find such a man. "
Behind a successful man there is a woman and behind an unsuccessful man there are too many.

Would you notice me more if I were causing a riot, would you notice me less if I were humble and quiet?

Would you miss me more if you saw me leave everyday; would you miss me less if I was miles away?

Would you desire me more if I was fit and athletic, would you desire me less if I was diseased and pathetic?

Would you love me more if I was rich and wealthy, would you love me less if I was broke and in poverty?

Would you be with me if I was all of these and none, would you be with me despite my circumstances, are you the one?

MANCHESTER, England, June 5 -- Think of it as Facebook au naturel -- "Skinbook," the Web site whose Manchester, England, founder claims is the world's largest nudist social network.

"Skinbook," with 9,000 members -- though many more have applied but been rejected, founder Karl Maddocks says -- offers many of the same features and functions as Facebook, but everybody's naked, The Times of London reported.

Maddocks said the Web site provides an alternative to those frustrated by the strict regulations of many nudist clubs.

"You shouldn't need to fill out application forms and pay fees to clubs," Maddocks said. "Just go to the beach and get your kit off."

Maddocks, 25, said he and classmates at Manchester Metropolitan University started Skinbook as an online network two years ago to share experiences of nudism during a vacation they had taken in Wales. They say they didn't expect anyone outside their online friends group to join.

"Suddenly, it went from nine people to 250," Maddocks said. "We've created a monster. It has slowly but surely turned into a full-time job."

Skinbook members will gather in Brighton, England, this summer -- in the nude, naturally -- for the network's first conference to talk about how to continue developing the site.

You ask "Were those wall street (cone men) politicians.?"

But I should say conmen. These conmen were unelected politicians, who ran the financial affairs for George Bush's Treasury. Ex Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson is one such person. If you dig deep enough you will see that there were many more like him serving in that government. I could list a lot of them; at least 12. it is very easy to list obvious characters from third world countries such as those you list above. But sometimes corruption is much closer to home; it is often cloak and dagger /:).

Who are unelected politicians? never heard of them. Dude a politican is one who holds a political office not an executive office. Who is actively involved in politics, specially in party politics. And for your kind information, it is not me who listed those persons as most corrupt politicians of world. It is a  NGO Transparency International a very renowned name the world over. If you dont agree to their list, suggest your own names to them.
