I was sitting on the sidelines When I saw this girl-- She was skipping, hopping, laughing She even threw in a twirl.
I stopped her for a minute Asked her why she laughed so much. She said, For me, this world's hard, And life is bleak, so day by day, I know I can't give up.
You see, I am so sick, she said And I don't have much time. But even with sixty-five roses Life can be enjoyed.
So I do what makes me happy, I laugh until I cry Push regrets into the past And sing my song out loud.
I said, Wow, that's amazing. She shrugged and smiled at me; Inspired me to join her, Live life the way it should be
I'm no longer on the sidelines, Because life is just a game. And the hurts, the cuts, the bruises, Don't matter in the end.

A woman was killed yesterday on an Upper East Side subway track during an attempt to retrieve a fallen gym bag.
Rose Mankos, 48, was struck by a 6 train heading north at the 77th street station, desperately attempting to climb back on to the platform as horrified fellow passengers shouted instructions for her to lie flat on the tracks. The driver sounded the train’s horn several times but was unable to brake in time to save Mankos.
Witnesses describe a harrowing scene as the doomed woman attempted to evade the oncoming train:
“She had one choice to make and seconds to make it,” said Alfonso McGruder, 55, of The Bronx, who witnessed the tragedy. “She didn’t make the one that would have saved her life.
“She tried to go under the platform because the train was bearing down on her. Then she tried to climb onto the platform, but she couldn’t do that. Then she just froze.”
McGruder says the woman appeared to “give up” as the subway train rapidly approached. MTA officials commented, reminding riders not to attempt to retrieve items that fall on to subway tracks:
NYC Transit spokesman Paul Fleuranges said, “The message to our customers is clear: If you drop something on the tracks, do not attempt to retrieve it. Alert a transit employee or a police officer.”
Police say Mankos died instantly.

One of the top trending topics on Twitter right now is Formspring, apparently due to a fake news story circulating on the microblogging service.
Formspring.me, a social media platform designed for users to ask and answer anonymous questions, is being maligned in tweets due to a faked AP story dated “two days ago” that claims the site’s operators plan on releasing confidential data about users as a massive April Fool’s day prank: Over 2 million people have used the site to communicate anonymously with other users since its creation in 2009.
“We allow users to sign up for an account and ask questions anonymously, but we still store their data next to the question. For legal purposes,” said Baxter, in a January interview.
However, it was revealed, in a leaked personal email from Baxter to Anne Gralley, a friend, that the data was being stored for another reason.
“In less than a month, ” (CEO Mark) Baxter wrote, “we’ll be adding the name, email, and facebook account of each user next to all of their anonymous posts.” Although the piece is alarming at first, a few things should be noted about the alleged news story. There is no record of it on the Associated Press’ main site. Stories without a set date (last week, two days ago) raise a red flag, and the style does not fit in with AP guidelines. (Facebook isn’t capitalized. “Creation of said website” is not typical AP phrasing. “Misleading the public” is not something a news story would cite as a criminal charge.)
Most tellingly, though, the story has not been picked up by any major news outlets or tech sites- something this inflammatory would certainly be a big story. All the links being posted on Twitter lead back to a single source- it appears to be the genesis for this particular rumor.
If you are a Formspring user, I wouldn’t advise canceling your account because of this- there is no information right now that indicates any part of this story is based on fact. Formspring.me has not responded to requests for comment.
Update: In a comment on a Venture Beat post, the president of Formspring calls the story “entirely fictitious”:

The brick wall towers between us; crossing seems out of the question. I know no way of touching your heart behind that wall. Hollow I sit wondering why you built it, was it to keep me out? I used to make you laugh and hold your hand; talk late into the night, our love knowing no bounds. As the moon rose so did our voices; now I hear nothing but my own thoughts grinding away. Giving way to sobs my voice cracks when I speak of you; I do not know why I am shut off I wish to just hold you again. My brain holds no answers yet I still search the day away hoping to find what I did wrong. I don’t know myself anymore, I feel like a stranger that found his way into a body.
Events of my past that should define me hold no more power over me; grief strikes more than just the soul.
When thinking becomes a chore and chores become monotony; days will melt into months just as your love melts away. I feel those bricks will never come down no matter how hard I try, I wonder if I ever truly loved you or if I just loved the thought of you. Just as your wall shuts me out I will build my own wall; I wonder if anyone will find my heart? Ben Lingemann

Google just can’t seem to play nice with China and their censorship laws as of late and now the search giant has announced that the stop to censorship on their search engine could occur by the end of March.
Several reports are hinting that a resolution may be underway on both sides, but no specifics have been given.
The disagreements between the company and country have lead Android phones to being delayed, has canceled Google developer events in the country and has shown Google’s unflinching (up until this point) belief in freely available information in all forms.
Eric Schmidt, Google’s CEO, has stated that “something will happen soon” which led Wall Street Journal sources to the conclusion that March is the magic month of removing censorship.
When asked how China will retaliate Li Yizhong, a Minister of Industry and Information Technology in China said
if you don’t respect Chinese laws, you are unfriendly and irresponsible, and the consequences will be on you
If I could be so bold, it would be an interesting turn of events if Google began removing China based search results from U.S. results. For example, thousands of China etailers pretend to have a U.S. presence but actually ship from China, it would be a decent hit to China’s online sales sector if U.S, European, Australian and other search results failed to show any China based companies in their searches. Is that censoring? Sure…but using censorship against China would be quite ironic, plus it would help get rid of a lot of counterfeit product sites trying to rip off U.S.and European customers, they could kill two birds with one stone.
What do you think the outcome of this whole mess will be?

New evidence suggests that women who used first generation birth control pills in the 1960s and 70s may have experienced longer lifespans as a result.
The study, which followed more than 46,000 British women over a 40 year span, suggests that while there’s an initial increase in certain health risks when using the pill, that didn’t necessarily remain the case over the long term. In fact, women who used the contraceptive method over time actually saw an eventual lower rate of certain diseases of up to twelve percent.
Rates of uterine, bowel and ovarian cancers were lower amongst women in the study, as well as instances of death due to heart disease and stroke. One strange factor was noted in the mortality rates of pill users versus abstainers, though. Women who used the pill tended to have a higher risk of “violent deaths.”
Users of the pill should note that the method is not without risk, but that benefits may kick in later:
Women who take birth control pills do need to consider potential risks, including an increased risk for blood clots, and should discuss their medical histories with their doctors prior to taking the pill. While the study found that, overall taking the pill at some point in life reduced a woman’s risk of death due to cancer or other conditions, researchers did find a slightly increased risk for death from any caused among women younger than 45 who had stopped using the pill five to nine years earlier. After 10 years, however, that additional risk disappeared, and benefits to longevity later in life offset those initial heightened risks, the researchers concluded.

If you really think about it Life is a funny story Things mostly happen to those that don't deserve it or maybe they do My life is surrounded by many ups and downs However my grief isn't the biggest around Whatever I go through Is my business And what I don't go through Is still my business Signing on to PJ everyday You encounter a new story telling away message Which was written obviously because people are letting feelings out And because they might want someone else to read it One day someones happy... The other they wanna just die/cry Others rant about how good they are And others are giving advice Like I said life is a new experience everyday I believe life is what you make of it Things always happen for a reason But everyone asks what is the reasoning behind it all... No one can really give u that answer because part of life is to try to figure out different things To imagine that our footsteps were already carved for us Is unbelievable Our troubles Our smiles Our tears Our laughs Is what keeps us going everyday The way u resolve problems defines who u r I guess u gotta make the best of it no matter if u think otherwise cuz who cares what u think? Open ya eyes and realize that life is here to stay And even after we die... Life goes on.......

# "Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend." # "Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way round or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves." # "A good fight should be like a small play...but played seriously. When the opponent expands, l contract. When he contracts, l expand. And when there is an opportunity... l do not hit...it hits all by itself (shows his fist). Any technique, however worthy and desirable, becomes a disease when the mind is obsessed with it." # "There is no opponent." # "Learn the principle, abide by the principle, and dissolve the principle. In short, enter a mold without being caged in it. Obey the principle without being bound by it. LEARN, MASTER AND ACHIEVE!!!" # "Knowledge in martial arts actually means self-knowledge. A martial artist has to take responsibility for himself and accept the consequences of his own doing. The understanding of Jeet Kune Do is through personal feeling from movement to movement in the mirror of the relationship and not through a process of isolation. To be is to be related. To isolate is death. To me, ultimately, martial arts means honestly expressing yourself. Now, it is very difficult to do. It has always been very easy for me to put on a show and be cocky, and be flooded with a cocky feeling and feel pretty cool and all that. I can make all kinds of phoney things. Blinded by it. Or I can show some really fancy movement. But to experience oneself honestly, not lying to oneself, and to express myself honestly, now that is very hard to do." # "I believe in having a few pupils at one time as it requires a constant alert observation of each individual in order to establish a direct relationship. A good teacher can never be fixed in a routine... each moment requires a sensitive mind that is constantly changing and constantly adapting. A teacher must never impose this student to fit his favourite pattern; a good teacher functions as a pointer, exposing his student's vulnerability (and) causing him to explore both internally and finally integrating himself with his being. Martial art should not be passed out indiscriminately. # "Do not be tense, just be ready, not thinking but not dreaming, not being set but being flexible. It is being "wholly" and quietly alive, aware and alert, ready for whatever may come. The danger of training with the heavy bag is that it doesn't react to one’s attack and sometimes there is a tendency to thoughtlessness. One will punch the bag carelessly, and would be vulnerable in a real situation if this became a habit." # "A fight is not won by one punch or kick. Either learn to endure or hire a bodyguard." # Let me give you a bit of warning: just because you get very good at your training it should not go to your head that you are an expert. Remember, actual sparring is the ultimate, and the training is, only a means toward this. Besides running, one should also do exercises for the stomach - sit-ups, leg raises, etc. Too often one of those big-belly masters will tell you that his internal power has sunk to his stomach; he's not kidding, it is sunk and gone! To put it bluntly, he is nothing but fat and ugly." # "Forget about winning and losing; forget about pride and pain. Let your opponent graze your skin and you smash into his flesh; let him smash into your flesh and you fracture his bones; let him fracture your bones and you take his life. Do not be concerned with escaping safely - lay your life before him." # "The main characteristic Jeet Kune-Do is the absence of the usual classical passive blocking. Blocking is the least efficient. Jeet Kune-Do is offensive; it's alive and it's free." # "Jeet Kune Do is training and discipline towards the ultimate reality in combat." # "Jeet Kune-Do is the only non-classical style of Chinese Kung Fu in existence today. It is simple in its execution, although not so simple to explain. Jeet means 'to stop, to stem, to intercept,' while Kune means 'fist' or 'style,' and Do means 'the way' or 'the ultimate reality.' In other words--'The Way of the Intercepting Fist.'" # "I have not invented a "new style," composite, modified or otherwise that is set within distinct form as apart from "this" method or "that" method. On the contrary, I hope to free my followers from clinging to styles, patterns, or molds. Remember that Jeet Kune Do is merely a name used, a mirror in which to see "ourselves". . . Jeet Kune Do is not an organized institution that one can be a member of. Either you understand or you don't, and that is that." # "Faith is a state of mind that can be conditioned through self-discipline. Faith will accomplish." # "If I tell you I'm good, you would probably think I'm boasting. If I tell you I'm no good, you know I'm lying."

For all of my friends, my family, and loved, I am sorry. I am sorry for the lies, For the betrayal and back-stabbing, I am sorry for it all. I am sorry I wasn't always there To help you when you fall. I am sorry for the hurtful jokes, The prodding, and the pokes, I am sorry for not caring When you needed me the most. I am sorry, so sorry, with all of my heart, That instead of helping you, I only fell apart. I have never been so sorry For the things that I have done As I am at this moment, Because I want to feel the sun. Sadness and apologies Can cloud a person's life. They'll breech you and mistreat you, Causing only strife. I want to live within a world That is free from torment and woes. So, the only thing that I can do Is take on these invisible foes. To build a world where no one is sorry Is to build a purely altruistic world. So the best place for one to start Is simply with themselves. I want to help my fellow man, But must first conquer myself. So, I am sorry for ever apologizing. I'll never hurt you again.

A giant cylinder will splash into the water off the coast of Scotland next Spring, all in the hopes of harnessing the energy of waves and converting it to electricity.
Engineers are still tweaking the marine power converter, according to Reuters:
Dwarfed by 180 meters of tubing, scores of engineers clamber over the device, which is designed to dip and ride the swelling sea with each move being converted into power to be channeled through subsea cables. The sea snake, as it’s called, is being developed for the German power company E. ON and represents a serious investment in marine power, which is considerably more costly than offshore wind power. A push by regulatory agencies to slash emissions has companies taking a closer look at marine power these days—and apparently these so-called snakes have the potential to capture a decent share of the energy market:
The World Energy Council has estimated the market potential for wave energy at more than 2,000 terawatt hours a year—or about 10 percent of world electricity consumption—representing capital expenditure of more than 500 billion pounds ($790 billion).
E. On is hoping the current project in Scotland will fare better than their fist foray into marine power—a commercial wave project in Portugal that flopped after one of the partners ran out of cash.

A Texas doctor claims that you can now kill your acne while you chat on the phone with your friends. Houston dermatologist Greg Pearson says that his AcneApp, available at Apple’s app store for $1.99, is a great way to clear your mug of unseemly spots.Fox TV, Houston reports:The AcneApp emits alternating bursts of red and blue light from the iPhone’s screen. All users have to do is run the program then hold the phone up to their faces.Dr. Pearson says the phone needs to be held to the face for about two minutes a day, and callers have to remember to switch sides for maximum benefit. He isn’t quite sure of the results, and he can’t promote the app’s medical benefits because it hasn’t been FDA-approved. Nevertheless, Pearson told Fox TV that the app has been designed with “some science” in mind. :mean:

I used to be a bird flying high Now I am the hunter who shoots them down. What happened to me?
I used to be a sleeping baby, with not a care in the world Now I am a juvenile with a dark look at life. What happened to me?
I used to be so happy, nothing could bring me down Now I feel depressed, life isn't fair. I might as well die.

Being irresponsible Wars, genocide, death- and concentration-camps, constructing and using atomic bombs, weird genetic experiments, all this has been done by men because they like to do whatever is feasible. Obviously they don’t think about the consequences of their actions. The world has to struggle a lot with those consequences.
On a more harmless and playful level there is men’s predilection for breaking records. Construction or driving the fastest car for example, although the world would rather have cars that don’t damage the environment.
Where would we be without all the useful and important inventions that men made? Of course we need men’s habit of doing what is feasible. But please think about the consequences before doing and act responsibly!Being lazy Men like to be lazy and delegate as much work as possible. As long as they live with their mother she’s the one who does all the bothersome work like cleaning clothes, toilets and kitchens.
Later in life they try to find a woman to live with them who should do all that and more. She should also take care of contraception, keep all social contacts with his family, raise the kids he has with her and remind him of paying bills.
Men shouldn’t wonder why so many women want divorce.Being addicted Men become addicted to alcohol, drugs and gambling more often than women and what makes it worse, some become aggressive and dangerous after consuming alcohol or some kinds of drugs.
If it’s terrorizing their family or ‘only’ spending all the money for gambling or drugs, addictions and what goes along with them are a problem not only for the addicted men but also for those affiliated to them.Being criminal Depending on the area, 85 – 95% of all criminal acts are committed by men!
Many reasons lead to committing a crime, one is that men don’t accept a bad situation easily. Some try to change it by all means which reflects in that rate. Others have problems controlling themselves. Also see point 1 of this list. Needless to say more, the rate tells its own tale.Being insensitive Men forget birthdays, valentine’s days, wedding anniversaries and often buy Christmas presents without much thinking. They often are awkward, not diplomatic and don’t fulfill women’s expectations for romantic situations.
When being very young they fart and burp and scratch their b**** in public and laugh silly about it, later in life most of them realize that women don’t appreciate that and stop it.
All in all men are often insensitive and behave in an uncivilized manner. In case a woman tries to change that, they are reluctant to improve and complain about being unaccepted as they are instead of seeing it as a chance to refine.

When i think of the most beautiful girl, Your face appears over anyone else in the world. With a magnificent body, That is more valuable to me than money.
Since the first time we met, The terrible first impression is still something i regret. All i desire is one chance, To impress you and romance.
Damn your looks drive me crazy, After all your are the definition of the word pretty. With your alabaster skin and curvaceous figure, Not to mention the cherry red voluptuous lips and great character.
I know you can get much better than me, Cause you are smart beautiful and funny. But one thing that i can guarantee, Is no one can love you more or keep you as happy.

"Mom, why are you crying?" he asked his mom.
"Because I'm a woman" she told him.
"I don't understand," he said.
His mom just hugged him and said, "and you never will." Later the little boy asked his father, "Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?"
"All women cry for no reason" was all his dad could say.
The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry.
Finally he put in a call to GOD. When GOD got on the phone the man said, "GOD, why do women cry so easily?"
GOD said:
"When I made women she had to be special. I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world; yet, gentle enough to give comfort.
I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her children.
I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going when everyone else gives up and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complaining.
I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances, even when her child has hurt her very badly. This same sensitivity helps her to make a child's boo-boo feel better and shares in her teenagers anxieties and fears.
I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.
I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly.
I gave her a tear to shed, it's hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed. It's her only weakness; it's a tear for mankind."

One day a young man was standing in the middle of the town proclaiming that he had the most beautiful heart in the whole valley. A large crowd gathered and they all admired his heart for it was perfect. There was not a mark or a flaw in it. Yes, they all agreed it truly was the most beautiful heart they had ever seen.
The young man was very proud and boasted more loudly about his beautiful heart. Suddenly, an old man appeared at the front of the crowd and said "Why, your heart is not nearly as beautiful as mine."
The crowd and the young man looked at the old man's heart. It was beating strongly, but it was full of scars. It had places where pieces had been removed and other pieces put in, but they didn't fit quite right and there were several jagged edges. In fact, in some places there were deep gouges where whole pieces were missing.
The people stared -- how can he say his heart is more beautiful, they thought?
The young man looked at the old man's heart and saw its state and laughed.
"You must be joking," he said. "Compare your heart with mine. Mine is perfect and yours is a mess of scars and tears."
"Yes," said the old man, "yours is perfect looking but I would never trade with you. You see, every scar represents a person to whom I have given my love - I tear out a piece of my heart and give it to them, and often they give me a piece of their heart which fits into the empty place in my heart, but because the pieces aren't exact, I have some rough edges, which I cherish, because they remind me of the love we shared."
"Sometimes I have given pieces of my heart away, and the other person hasn't returned a piece of his heart to me. These are the empty gouges -- giving love, is taking a chance. Although these gouges are painful, they stay open, reminding me of the love I have for these people too, and I hope someday they may return and fill the space I have waiting. So now do you see what true beauty is?"
The young man stood silently with tears running down his cheeks. He walked up to the old man, reached into his perfect young and beautiful heart and ripped a piece out. He offered it to the old man with trembling hands. The old man took his offering, placed it in his heart and then took a piece from his old scarred heart and placed it in the wound in the young man's heart. It fit, but not perfectly, as there were some jagged edges.
The young man looked at his heart, not perfect anymore but more beautiful than ever, since love from the old man's heart flowed into his.

Flying high, NASA style!
One of the space agency’s employees seems to have been inspired by the space shuttle’s soaring trajectory. A baggie containing a small amount of white powder residue, later found to be cocaine, was found at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
Way to go, NASA-employee-doing-coke-on-premises. You have forever altered our image of clean-cut astronauts standing around in space suits, chatting with diligent rocket scientists. But NASA is not so amused.
According to CNN, Bob Cabana, the director of Kennedy Space Center, issued a terse statement that read in part:This is a rare and isolated incident, and I’m disappointed that it happened, but it should not detract from the outstanding work that is being done by a dedicated team on a daily basis.” About 200 employees and contractors have access to the restricted hangar where the drug was found, and they’re now being being tested for the drug. For NASA, the incident is not just a blow to its image–the drug’s presence in a restricted area also raises questions about the work done by NASA’s elite workers. The hangar is being used to prepare for space shuttle Discovery’s launch, which is scheduled for this March.
The Internet, meanwhile, is tittering with amusement, with one reader commenting on a news article: “There’s just so much coke in Florida, this bit probably just settled there, like pollen or something. Although! I think it makes for a great new sitcom idea. Miami Vice, Interstellar Unit!”
