Most punjabi people will not become Amritdhari Sikhs. In fact, more and more are likely to not follow the Sikh tradition. It is a trend in our community to be more westernized. There will of course always be people that follow the tradition. I'd commend your bf for even thinking about it, because in today's world, people brush off even the thought of changing to be more traditional.
Of course, it is a personal choice with everyone.
It is indeed a personal choice, but nobody should feel the need to change their looks because their religion tells them to, what kind of religion would that be anyways. It's fine to have steel bracelet as a symbol but yeah.
