News Khabran / 16 year old marries 51 year old« on: June 26, 2011, 05:44:07 AM »
Courtney Stodden has us nostalgic for the innocence of Rebecca Black. Like Black, Stodden is a teenager with a really silly video that came out of nowhere and went totally viral.
But Stodden's video isn't what made her famous this week. It's her husband, Doug Hutchison, a 51-year-old actor who was in "Lost" and "The Green Mile." Hutchison wed the 16-year-old last month in a quickie Vegas ceremony. He posted their wedding photo on his website and it made their age difference even more terrifying. It looks like a prom photo outtake of a lecherous neighbor drooling over the chest of the high school popular girl next door. It's the kind of photo that could get a man arrested, if he wasn't so beloved by Stodden's family. To be clear: Courtney Stodden's parents LOVE her new husband. Mum Krista gave written consent so her 16-year-old daughter could legally wed her prince charming in Vegas, and bypass the 18 and over law. "We are totally supportive of this marriage," Krista told RadarOnline.com. "Doug is a wonderful man, and we love him." Dad, who's four years younger than his new son-in-law, is also a fan. "Every father can only pray to have such a man behind their daughter," Alex Stodden said. Really? I think that might be an overstatement. Their enthusiasm for Hutchison almost makes you wonder if they've been given a dowry for their daughter. And they kind of have. Stodden is an aspiring pop star and Hutchison is now handling her career. Their marriage has given Stodden's "music career" exposure. It seems like a disturbing investment trade between greedy stage parent and needy grown man. The creepiness of the story was upped about 25 percent, when Stodden's mum weighed in on another topic nobody actually asked about. "Courtney was a virgin when she married Doug." And then this: "She has real breasts, real lips, she's not fake..." It's as if she's trying to sell us all a car. Mum's comment's have us wondering just how much Stodden was pushed into this union. None of this new, the teen loves of celebrities is part of American music culture. Elvis scouted out Priscilla when she was 14. Celine Dion met the man she was going to marry at 12 and was engaged to him seven years later. And of course, there's Jerry lee Lewis and his 13-year-old cousin. In many cases, the parents were just as wooed by the man's celebrity as their teenage children. But that was then. How are we still seeing this kind of thing today? 107

Haha. Trust me, i really thought the price of those chips were cheap though but now he's saying, NZ's expensive. :D:

Shayari / Future memory« on: June 11, 2011, 04:55:34 AM »
Do you think I'm a little familiar
And maybe you already know me Like someone you might remember And like someone like you'd like to see For we would dance for a moment & we could kiss once – for ever So do you think now that you know me Maybe I'm a future memory Sometimes perhaps the truth's hidden In clouds when they darken our days But when truth has arisen unbidden Then the tears of the sun pass away & it's been a long time coming Though, I don't know why it's that way But maybe you think now you know me Or maybe you will do some day 111

News Khabran / Uniform ban threatens Iran's Olympic dreams« on: June 08, 2011, 06:03:22 AM »Iran's female football team has complained to FIFA after the women were banned from playing a second-round qualifying match for next year's London Olympics because they wore hijabs covering their heads and necks. The team wears a full-body strip and head scarf to confirm with Islamic dress code, but this outfit clashes with FIFA's uniform regulations. A FIFA statement sent to Reuters said players are allowed to "wear a cap that covers their head to the hairline, but does not extend below the ears to cover the neck". The Iranian team ran out to compete against Jordan wearing a hijab with the players' heads and necks totally covered, which FIFA believes is in breach of their rules. "The match commissioner and match referee therefore decided to apply correctly the Laws of the Game, which ended in the match being abandoned," the statement said. FIFA's rules for the 2012 Olympics state: "Players and officials shall not display political, religious, commercial or personal messages or slogans in any language or form on their playing or team kits." Football Federation of Iran board member Farideh Shojaei expressed dismay at the ruling and said it would severely threaten the team’s chances of qualifying for the Olympics. "This kit is neither religious, nor political, nor will it lead to harm to a player," Shojaei said. "The countries that invested, and spent money and time and took part in the second round will clearly not be willing to repeat these games." 115

News Khabran / Tallest female basketballer died at 37« on: June 02, 2011, 07:07:22 AM »
The world's tallest female basketball player has died, along with her unborn baby, after suffering a heart attack at age 37.
Malgorzata "Margo" Dydek, who stood at 218.4cm, had been in a medically induced coma in a Brisbane hospital since going into cardiac arrest on May 19, Fox Sports reports. The Polish-born Woman’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) star had been living in Brisbane and coaching a team from the Queensland Basketball League, the Northside Wizards. Dydek, affectionately dubbed "Large Marge" by teammates, started her career in the WNBA after being selected by the Utah Starzz as the number one draft pick in 1998. She played for the Starzz for seven years before moving to Connecticut Sun in 2005 and ending her career at the Los Angeles Sparks. Dydek held the record for the most blocks in a WNBA career, with 877 blocks in 323 games. She is survived by her husband David Dydek and their two sons. 119
