1. "Antilla", Mumbai - $1 Billion The world’s most expensive home in 2010 is unquestionable. It is the first $1 billion home the world has seen. A custom-build 27 story towering mansion, Antilla in Mumbai is the home of the world’s fifth richest man, namely Mukesh Ambani, head of Indian petro-chemical giant Reliance Industries, which is India’s most valuable firm by market capitalization. With double height ceilings, ballrooms, crystal chandelier ceilings, retractable stages, and 600 servants, there is no other home on earth that compares to the 570 feet tall Antilla. 2. Villa Leopolda, French Riviera - $506 Million Villa Leopolda is an 80,000 square foot Chateuau built in 1902 by King Leopold II of Belgium. The villa has been rumoured to be the home of Bill Gates and many more global figures, but has actually been home to French banker Edmond Safira, whose wife Lily still lives there. The 19 bedroom villa, which boasts sports courts, a bowling alley, multiple kitchens, dining rooms and a movie theatre, received even more press lately when a Russian mogul lost his deposit on the property when he reneged on completing the sale. 3. One Hyde Park, The Penthouse, London - $200 Million This massively stylish modern penthouse may not be so expensive did it not sit atop the famous number 1 Hyde Park address. As it is in such a premium location it has been built as a home for the rich and famous complete with SAS guard, bullet proof windows, iris scanners, panic rooms and a secret tunnel to the nearby Mandarin Hotel. The building has communal spas, squash courts and wine tasting rooms, and the penthouse is served by 24 hour room service. 4. Fairfield Pond, The Hamptons - $170 Million This 63 acre home is considered the largest residential compound in America. The 29 bedroom beachfront home of publicity shy billionaire Ira Rennert has 5 sports courts, a bowling alley and a $150,000 hot tub. 5. Hearst Mansion, Beverly Hills, - $165 Million This mansion — the former home of publishing giant William Randolph Hearst, the inspiration for the main character in “Citizen Kane” –, features 29 bedrooms and three pools. The estate became a pop-culture icon after being used in The Godfather movie, when the infamous severed horse’s head turned up in the owner’s bed. The fact that assassinated President John F Kennedy stayed in the mansion during his honeymoon also added to its status. The house has some notable neighbours, including Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes and David and Victoria Beckham 6.Franchuk Villa, Kensington, - $161 Million Anyone else spotting a trend here (the most expensive homes being mainly in the UK and US, this making it 2 all). This Victorian Villa was a girl’s prep school until 1997, when it was bought and upgraded in 2006. After receiving a £10 million overhaul and refurb it was purchased by Ukrainian AIDS philanthropist, Elena Franchuk, and renamed the Franchuk Villa. 7. The Pinnacle, Montana - $155 Million This is the home of Time and Edra Blixseth, owners of the billionaires-only golf and ski resort “Yellowstone Club” in Montana. It will be the largest and grandest property on the resort, but is still small in comparison to some of those on this list, with only 10 bedrooms. To catch up the property has impressive features such as every inch of floor being heated, a heated driveway and fireplaces in all bathrooms. (3-2 to America). 8. The Manor, Los Angeles - $150 Million The home of Aaron Spelling, dubbed “The Manor” by wife Cindy, has 123 rooms for his family to choose from, an indoor skating rink, multiple pools, three kitchens, sports courts, private orchard, and a bowling alley. The home, which he had built from scratch in 1991 also has a room used exclusively for wrapping presents and an entire floor dedicated to closet space. 9. Updown Court, Windlesham, Surrey - $139 Million The description of this home is above, as it was the 3rd most expensive home in 2008. What is interesting however, is that in 2008 it was valued at $110million, meaning its value has grown substantially even during such difficult financial times. 10. Dracula's Castle, Romania $135 Million This home needs no introduction. Built in the 14th century, the castle is now a national monument and museum thanks to the legend surrounding it, which also needs no introduction. It has 57 rooms in total, including 17 bedrooms filled with antiques and historical artefacts. It wouldn’t do for the publicly shy Ira Rennert mentioned above, but for the quirkier billionaire, the 450 million tourists that visit every year may be worth it for living in Dracula’s castle.

Ah gayee Sartaj di vaari vi accusations layee.
Sufi singer Sartaj accused of plagiarism Manav Mander Tribune News Service
Ludhiana, April 8 Budding Sufi Singer Satinder Sartaj has landed in midst of a controversy with Punjabi writer Tarlok Judge. Tarlok has levelled allegations of plagiarism against Sartaj.
Tarlok, a Ferozepore based Punjabi writer has alleged that Satinder has used one of his couplet "Aasan aag de vastar paune ne, nazdik na ho" published on page 24 of his book Ehsaas de Zakham- n his song. In this song, he has used couplets by various writers, claimed Tarlok.
Tarlok has given time till April 12 to Sartaj for making a public apology, failing which, he would be forced to take a legal action against him. The controversy has snowballed into a major debate with numerous social-networking sites and internet portals being dragged into it.
Narrating the tale of events, Tarlok, while talking to The Tribune said, "One day, I wrote the lines from the said song on my profile at one of the social networking sites, after which I received a message from my friend mentioning that it was Satinder Sartaj's song. Various people commented on it and after that the issue was published at one of the internet portals," he added.
Tarlok said he had even received a call from Satinder Sartaj regarding this issue. "I asked him to tender an apology publicly. After that day, I did not receive any communication from his side. The whole incident has turned into a virtual war, as his and my supporters are publishing their comments on the internet portals," he added.
Commenting upon the whole incident, Tarlok said it is very sad that the young singers use other's creation to gain fame and even forget to give due credit to them. "He should have at least given the credit by mentioning my name against the song on his album," he added.
Singer Satinder Satraj could not be contacted. His close associates said he was abroad and would respond to the allegations after coming back.

Another news story to single out Sikhs...
Brampton kirpan attack renews debate over Sikh daggers Temple president stabbed with kirpan Published On Tue Apr 06 2010
Raveena Aulakh Staff Reporter (Taken from the Toronto Star)
The crowd of about 150 people was yelling obscenities and threats outside the Sikh Lehar Centre in Brampton when three temple officials stepped out to pacify them.
Within seconds, one in the crowd, clutching a thick steel bangle, punched Manjit Mangat, the 53-year-old president of the Sikh temple, in the face. Witnesses say at least two men brandished unsheathed kirpans, the Sikh ceremonial dagger.
The next moment, Mangat, a prominent Brampton lawyer, was on the ground — his face bloodied and a 5-inch wound in his abdomen.
Brampton’s Sukhwant Singh, in his early 50s, has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault, Peel police say. Singh’s next court appearance is on Thursday.
Any weapon could have been used in the attack, but the fact that it was a kirpan alarms Sikh leaders who fear the incident will rouse objections once again over one’s right to wear the religious symbol in public.
“We are fighting for two symbols all over the world — turban and kirpan,” said Gurdev Gill, who witnessed the attack on Mangat. “They have both been misused in front of everyone. Why would people listen to us when we now say that it (kirpan) is ceremonial in nature ... not meant to kill people?”
A steel blade anywhere from 2 to 8 inches long, the kirpan is supposed to be worn by baptized Sikhs at all times, sheathed under their clothes. But debates have raged across the country whether the wearing of the dagger, seen by Sikhs as a symbolic weapon in the fight against evil, compromises public security.
The kirpan is banned in Denmark and France and there have been several court cases in states of the U.S. involving the legality of wearing the kirpan in public places. But it is allowed in most public places in Canada, including at schools. There have been some incidents in the past in the Toronto area where the kirpan was used in an assault, but none as high-profile as the one on Friday in Brampton.
When Amanpreet Bal first heard about the scuffle and the stabbing, he hoped that a kirpan hadn’t been used. Every time, the kirpan comes back into the spotlight, “it means an uphill battle for us to educate people about its spiritual significance,” said Bal of the World Sikh Organization, an agency which has fought for Sikhs’ rights to wear the kirpan.
“Ignorant people have no idea what the impact of this (incident) can be,” he said. “The community will see the impact of this incident for years to come. It presents a tremendous challenge to the Sikhs.”
Controversy over the kirpan first burst onto the national scene in 2001 when Montrealer Gurbaj Singh Multani, then a 12-year-old student, accidentally dropped his 8-inch ceremonial dagger at school. It triggered a five-year-long dispute with the school board over his right to wear the dagger. In 2006, the Supreme Court of Canada upheld his right to wear it to school in a landmark judgment.
A debate erupted in Montreal again about 18 months ago when police said a 13-year-old student had allegedly threatened two students with his kirpan. In April 2009, a judge found him guilty of threatening them, but with a hairpin used to secure a turban.
The issue of the kirpan is a delicate one in the community. Sikhs will voice their concern about its misuse but few will openly discuss what can be done about it. Balraj Deol, editor of Khabarnama, a weekly Punjabi newspaper published in Brampton, says it is time for the clergy to examine the issue of how to make the kirpan safe.
“We have seen from time to time that people have used it as a weapon and it’s very dangerous,” said Deol.
Its size is one issue, he said. “It’s a religious symbol. It can be tiny,” not more than 2 inches long. He also points out that the kirpan — a really small one — can be worn around the neck, which would address security concerns.
Others have bounced the idea of locked kirpans — where they can’t be unclasped.
Harnish Athwal, a 35-year-old mother of two young girls, says Friday’s violence has convinced her that the ceremonial dagger must be made safer. She was inside the temple when the scuffle broke out and was one of the first people to reach Mangat, slumped on the ground.
“My kids saw it happen ... my 6-year-old daughter is still traumatized,” said Athwal, who also witnessed the incident. “She can’t understand why people would first yell and scream and then hurt someone so bad.”
Meanwhile, Mangat is home from hospital, recuperating. “I thank God that I am alive,” he said. One of the wounds, he added, is nearly 5 inches deep and next to the right kidney, others are on his legs and thighs.
But Mangat, who also wears a kirpan, says this abuse of the dagger should not be used against the religion. “These people have used religious emotions and symbols to attack others. It does not mean all Sikhs are violent.”

Bhangarh, India: Ghost TownThough it is not sure if ghosts exist or not, the ASI of Bhangarh has warned people travelling to this place in Rajasthan that they should not go to the place after sunset. You can see signs everywhere not to venture to the haunted city before sunrise and leave it before sunset. The place has many ruins of the middle era. Ghosts at Bhangarh: The Extent of FearThe Government of India was to set a military centre to patrol the place all over the night to solve the puzzle of ghosts but could not dare. None of the military personnel were willing to participate in the operation. Even the ASI office is a kilometer away from the place and has a board that says: “Staying in the Area after Sunset is Strictly Prohibited.” This indicates that something is very wrong, to the extent that even the paramilitary forces are not venturing into the area after dark. Bhangarh Myth: The CurseThe local people say that the entire place was vacated overnight due to a curse. They also say that as per the curse the city will disappear and if at all it is discovered, there will be no reminiscences of the place except for the temples. The second part of the story lends some support to the myth. The entire place has nothing but ruins, or rather attractive ruins. However, the place is full of temples. Most of the temples belong to Lord Hanuman. Lord Hanuman is said to save people from Ghosts and evil Spirits. As per the legend, the princess of Bhangarh was a match to none in beauty to any other woman in the place. There were several marriage offers coming in for her, when one tantrik (evil magician) spotted her. He was so enchanted by her beauty that he wanted to possess her at any cost. Following the princess, one day he went to the local market where the servant of the princess was buying perfumes. Taking advantage of the princess’ absence around the servant, he poured some magical lotion into the perfume bottles. The effect of the lotion was supposed to draw the princess to the tantrik as soon as she applies it. However, someone saw this and informed the princess who broke the bottle. This acted as a reverse effect and hurt the tantrik who as a revenge, cursed the entire place saying the place will no more be existent and all the residents will die. This happened and the princess too died. Till date there are several related myths related to the story.
