Nice move.
There has been some Sikhs joining the Army, but don't know about the Marines. The Sikhs that joined the Army, Capt. Tejdeep Singh Rattan and Simran Preet Singh Lamba are highly celebrated in the community. Tejdeep was specially invited to the NYC Sikh Day Parade and so many people were lining up to take pictures with him.
If you join, I would imagine you would be received similarly (if you are a turban wearing Sikh that is).

PS: One of my friend is getting into Air Force.
