A friend has taught me to always be grateful for my appearance. That may sound vain, but it is a truthful statement. Any time I obsess over a pimple, scar, or some weight gain, I am reminded that thousands of beautiful women around the world have been victim to acid attacks. There are countless stories of women who were just like us; they had dreams and aspirations.
They had fun. They had friends. They relaxed, they danced, they sang, they had love for God.
Imagine being victim to an acid attack. Your entire face would be ripped, burnt, and extremely deformed. Yet you would still have to stand up and face the harsh cruelties of the world. You would challenge your perpetrators. You would pray endlessly to the Creator. Most of all, you would be confused and hurt.
But you will most probably realize that you took your decent appearance for granted. You didn’t have to face hard, cold stares when you walked out of the house. You didn’t have to be known, recognized, and 'popular' for something that wasn’t your fault.
You wouldn’t be an object of pity among your family and friends. In fact, you would feel like a piece of crap for taking your perfect life for granted. You would feel stupid for being so self-absorbed that one pimple or one “physical imperfection” bothered your inner peace so extensively.
I challenge myself to remember a woman who has been victim to an acid attack any time I stand in front of the mirror and scrutinize my face. I challenge you too.
We are blessed.

Twelve years pass in childhood, and for another twenty years, he does not practice self-discipline and austerity.

For another thirty years, he does not worship God in any way, and then, when he is old, he repents and regrets.

Sookae saravar paal bandhaavai loonai khaeth hath vaar karai

These Are Not My Words, But Thought It Was Worth Sharing
World Poverty Facts and Stats 2012
Here are some shocking statistics I found today while doing some research online.
As you can see, very little has change especially in the developing countries around the world.Billions of people go to bed hungry.
We are in the age of science and advanced technology yet many people especially poor children continue to die just because they cannot get food to eat and they have no health care at all. :sad:
In this age and time, millions of people continue to die from HIV/AIDS even though there are anti-retroviral drugs available.
Millions of people still go to bed hungry while the rich and the greedy continue to waste billions of dollars on luxurious mansions, private jets, etc. Some people walk miles upon miles each and everyday just to get a cup of water to quench their thirst.
Some even die for the lack of drinking water.
*Almost half the world — over 3 billion people — live on less than $2.50 a day.
Infact majority of these 3 billion people live in poor third world countries.
Majority of poor people in the world today live in Asia especially in India. India has the largest poor population in the world today. Africa follows Asia as the second poorest continent with the second largest poor population. Most poor people in India and Africa live on less than $1.25 a day. $1.25 cannot even buy 1 regular bottle soda in the United States :sad:
*The GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of the 41 Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (567 million people) is less than the wealth of the world’s 7 richest people combined. In other worlds, just 7 people out of all these greedy rich people around the world can set the poorest 41 countries in the world free.
*Nearly a billion people entered the 21st century unable to read a book or sign their names.
Less than one per cent of what the world spent every year on weapons was needed to put every child into school by the year 2000 and yet it didn’t happen. In other words, we are busy wasting money on how to kill ourselves than how to help ourselves.
The more the poor people die, the richer the greedy people become and that is why they would anything possible to see more poor people die.
*1 billion children live in poverty (1 in 2 children in the world). 640 million live without adequate shelter, 400 million have no access to safe water, 270 million have no access to health services.
10.6 million died in 2003 before they reached the age of 5 (or roughly 29,000 children per day).
In other words, almost 30,000 die each and everyday especially in Africa and India due to poverty, hunger, lack of good drinking water, poor health conditions, etc. yet our leaders waste precious time and money on weapons of mass destruction instead of helping the poor and the weak in us, the waste precious time and money planning how to kill more and more people. such is the world we live in today. X_X

1. During your lifetime, you will produce enough saliva to fill two swimming pools. Actually, Saliva is more important than you realize. If your saliva cannot dissolve something, you cannot taste it.
2. The largest cell in the human body is the female egg and the smallest is the male sperm. The egg is actually the only cell in the body that is visible by the naked eye.
3. The strongest muscle in the human body is the tongue.
4. When a baby is born, he has over 300 bones in his tiny body. However, as humans grow, some of these bones merge together. As an adult, we have 206 bones in our body.
5. The skull consists of 29 bones. One of your hands has 27 bones, and just 14 bones make up your facial structure.
6. The human feet have 52 bones, accounting for one quarter of all the human body’s bones.
7. The acid in your stomach is strong enough to dissolve razorblades. The reason it doesn’t eat away at your stomach is that the cells of your stomach wall renew themselves so frequently that you get a new stomach lining every three to four days.
8. Your left lung is smaller than your right lung to make room for your heart.
9. A baby’s head is one-quarter of it’s total length, but by the age of 25 will only be one-eighth of its total length. This is because people’s heads grow at a much slower rate than the rest of their bodies.
10. Your nose can remember 50,000 different scents. But if you are a woman, you are a better smeller than men.
11. The human brain cell can hold 5 times as much information as an encyclopedia.
Your brain uses 20% of the oxygen that enters your bloodstream, and is itself made up of 80% water. Though it interprets pain signals from the rest of the body, the brain itself cannot feel pain.
12. The tooth is the only part of the human body that can’t repair itself.
13. Nerve impulses to and from the brain travel as fast as 170 miles per hour. Neurons continue to grow throughout human life.
