Religion, Faith, Spirituality / One Point Contains All« on: September 01, 2010, 01:37:02 PM »One Point Contains All by Baba Bulleh Shah One point contains all; Learn about the One, forget the rest. Forget hell and the terrible grave; Leave the ways of sin and purify Your heart. That's how the argument is spun: It's all contained in One! Why rub your head against the earth? What point in your vain prostration? Your Kalimah read, makes others laugh. You do not grasp the Lord's word! Somewhere the truth is written down: It's all contained in One! Some go to the jungle in vain And starve and cause themselves some pain; They waste their time with all this And come home tired, nothing gained! Find your master and become God's slave. In this way you'll be free of care; Free of desire, free of worry, And your heart truthful, pure. Bulleh has discovered this truth alone: It's all contained in One! 3
Love Pyar / Speechless« on: September 01, 2010, 01:33:21 PM »a dream come true, on the verge of achieving the pinnacle of the only summit that i have not conquered till date, my joy knew no bounds; I am not a speaker, nor I express my happiness as freely as everyone else, but then that is me; unmoved by emotions, that flood so many others, I have till date resisted the pull and the push of it from overwhelming me; till date, till now, but as I now stand on what seems like a turning point, I am shocked, I am stunned; my mind is just blank, nothing, it’s as if everything has been erased with one little swipe, standing on the last step of the pinnacle, so sure of success was I, everything else became secondary; work, family, friends, and the things that were dear to me, I brushed them all away, as I waited in line to accept the one thing that would fulfill me; so sure of attaining the next level, that when I reached the stage, I let go of my guard only to be stunned by the reality of things, something is not right and some things I cannot control, and for once, I am truly speechless at the way life still plays a game of hide and seek with me ~ not mine, just like it and thought of sharing 4
Love Pyar / Sister Love« on: August 28, 2010, 11:31:12 AM »I Miss You There are times when we seem to think alike, feel alike, behave alike. Those are the times when you are my sister... But there are also times when things aren't going so well, that is when you are my "Forever" Friend. The one who's always there standing by to comfort me in my failures, as lovingly as you applaud my successes... It's so good to have someone to listen to my dreams to make me laugh, to let me cry, whenever I need to. Someone who really cares about what I want to be and do. But the best part of all is knowing you love me just as I am . The same way I love you... You are my Sister, because that's the way it happened to be. You are my lifetime friend because of the beauty inside you. I can't tell you how lucky I feel That you are both of them to me. 5

Love Pyar / At the Age of Innocence« on: May 19, 2010, 04:05:09 PM »Back in the day [/b]
When we understood glee The smallest things would excite us Childhood, we could feel so free With the wind at our backs And no time like now We could skip through the meadows Because we still knew how Back in the past With pleasures galore Jumping on a trampoline Into the sky we'd soar Remember the joy We felt together You and me Anything could be At the age of innocence Swimming in the lakes That plunged deeper then hell We could pretend And never have to dwell A quick little kiss From me to you Rosey blush of your cheeks And then I'd receive one too Remember the joy We felt together You and me Anything could be At the age of innocence That was the past Of you and me It didnt last So I'm no longer so free You left me Here alone With no one but my tears And the chill of my bones Remember the joy We felt together You and me Anything could be At the age of innocence 7
Love Pyar / .... A Silent, Screaming Heart....« on: May 19, 2010, 03:58:59 PM »Your eyes that smile, Make it all worth while- To once more fall for you, Even though I don't know what to do.- You make me laugh so much, Which makes it so tough; It's so hard to say- That I need you more and more each day. Suddenly our flame turned to dust. Maybe time has healed some scars, And maybe we can shoot for the stars. But until then I will keep dreaming, As my heart is silently screaming. 8

You came to me at last in my dream: Gasping, I struggled, trying to enclose you in my arms. Ah, but your effulgent self slipped, gliding from my grasp, Leaving my arms the poorer, streched out and trembling. I bent my head that it might touch your feet; Your touch eluded me still. Abased as I was, how could my fumbling hands, attain to your exalted self, Helpless in the uttermost in reaching out to you? Then I rushed up to touch your waving scarf; This too, like a lightning - flash, evaded me, Swift in its swirling - One touch, one faint and momentry touch, Blessed my being And in this blessedness A spirit filled my lifeless clay, Brightness burst out at every pore: It was all in a flash, a trembling iinstant, My eyes were left dazed by the blinding brilliance. 10

Religion, Faith, Spirituality / Women Empowerment« on: April 17, 2010, 11:12:04 AM »Empowering Quotes by Women Woman must not accept; she must challenge. She must not be awed by that which has been built up around her; she must reverence that woman in her which struggles for expression. ~ Margaret Sanger ~ The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don't have any. ~ Alice Walker ~ "The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off." ~ Gloria Steinem ~ There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. ~ Anais Nin ~ People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within. ~ Elizabeth Kübler-Ross There are two ways of spreading light ... To be the candle, or the mirror that reflects it. ~ Edith Wharton ~ Courage is like a muscle. We strengthen it with use. ~ Ruth Gordon ~ You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don't try. ~ Beverly Sills ~ If we don't change, we don't grow. If we don't grow, we are not really living. Growth demands a temporary surrender of security. ~ Gail Sheehy ~ The best index to a person's character is a) how he treats people who can't do him any good and b) how he treats people who can't fight back. ~ Abigail Van Buren ~ It's not what you call me, but what I answer to. ~ African proverb ~ A woman is the full circle. Within her is the power to create, nurture and transform. ~ Diane Mariechild ~ Cut not the wings of your dreams, for they are the heartbeat and the freedom of your soul. ~ Flavia ~ I'm not afraid of storms, for I'm learning to sail my ship. ~ Louisa May Alcott ~ Look at everything as though you were seeing it either for the first or last time. If you look at what you don't have in life, You'll never have enough. ~ Oprah Winfrey ~ Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage. ~ Anais Nin ~ It is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye. ~ Antoine de Saint-Exupéry ~ We never know how high we are Till we are called to rise; And then, if we are true to plan, Our statures touch the skies. ~ Emily Dickinson ~ If you do not tell the truth about yourself you cannot tell it about other people. ~ Virginia Woolf ~ Remove those 'I want you to like me' stickers from your forehead and, instead, place them where they truly will do the most good -- on your mirror! ~ Susan Jeffers 13
Religion, Faith, Spirituality / Rabia - A woman Mystic« on: April 17, 2010, 10:08:19 AM »Quote Rabia al Adawiya al Basri was a Muslim saint who spent her whole life Great doubt will eventually lead to great awakening.
I will not serve God like a laborer, in expectation of my wages. May Allah steal from you All that steals you from Him. Stay close by the door, if you desire all beauty And leave aside sleep, if you wish to arrive And make of the spirit your first place of account. To the beloved, whose lights shine as from gold All of them worship out of fear of the fire. And consider deliverance abundant good fortune - Or, so they may dwell in the gardens, and reach. To the meadows of paradise, and there drink from its rivers. Of gardens or fire I have no opinion. I seek no exchange for my dearest love. True devotion is for itself: not to desire heaven nor to fear hell. Where a part of you goes The rest of you will follow---given time. You call yourself a teacher: Therefore learn. I love God: I have no time left In which to hate the devil. How long will you keep pounding on an open door Begging for someone to open it? O God, take away the words of the devil That mix with my prayer-- If not, then take my prayer as it is, devil and all. DIE BEFORE YOU DIE Ironic, but one of the most intimate acts of our body is death. So beautiful appeared my death – knowing who then I would kiss, I died a thousand times before I died. “Die before you die,” said the Prophet Muhammad. Have wings that feared ever touched the Sun? I was born when all I once feared – I could love. 14

True love is a sacred flame [/b]
That burns eternally, And none can dim its special glow Or change its destiny. True love speaks in tender tones And hears with gentle ear, True love gives with open heart And true love conquers fear. True love makes no harsh demands It neither rules nor binds. 17
You trampled on my dreams - so I dreamed alone. You were too busy to listen - so I never spoke. You were insensitive to my needs - so I hid them from you. You never seemed to understand - so I stopped trying to communicate. You hurt me by your indifference - so I bled inwardly. You cared for my physical needs - so my soul became impoverished. You drove me into myself - so now I am imprisoned. 18
Religion, Faith, Spirituality / Sultan Bahu's Poetry« on: March 03, 2010, 03:56:21 PM »Be te parh ke faazil hoye, Alif na Parheya kisse hoo Jain parhhiaa tis shauh na labbha, Jaan parhhiaa kujh tisse hoo Chaudaan tabaq karan rushnaii, Annhian kujh na disse hoo Baajh wisaal Allaah de Baahoo, Sabh kahaani qisse hoo They learned ‘everything’ and became great scholars, But few learned the lesson of Alif* Those who learned ‘everything’ never found the One. Those who learned the lesson of Oneness Found the essence of ‘everything’ All fourteen realms are lit up with God’s radiance, But the blind perceive nothing. If union is not attained with the Lord, O Bahu, All learning is mere theory – A mere fable that disappears into smoke. * Alif is the first letter of the Arabic, Persian and Urdu alphabets. It is written as a vertical straight line like the numeral ‘one’. Hazrat Bahu uses this similarity to identify alif with the ‘oneness’ of God. He also uses alif as an abbreviation of Ahad, the One. 19

Love Pyar / You are the Ghost in Me« on: February 20, 2010, 12:35:50 PM »Your like a ghost that haunts
Every corner of my soul You are with me all the time Even though I am alone There are moments i set aside For silent thoughts of you Quiet, private, episodes To reflect on a love so true You are like a ghost you see For in body you are not here And i just want you more With every passing day... I cannot escape from you You are haunting my dreams I cant push you from my heart For I do not have the means You are like a ghost you see Wandering around my soul An ache that I am carrying The hole in my soul... Lingering like a flame That simply will not die And I cannot be rid of you No matter how I try You are the ghost in me... |
