News Khabran / SEC - LONDON SEMINAR: Saturday 28th November, 2009
« on: October 15, 2009, 04:02:34 PM »
This Sikh Education Council seminar series looks at the Sikh concepts of Truth, Equality & Justice in the socio-political and legal Khalsa Republic of the early 18th century, showing how these policies and concepts were unprecedented at that time. This seminar will focus on the Battle for Sirhind which was a key strategic victory in the establishment of the Khalsa Republic. The rule of law as imposed by the Mughal Empire will be examined and contrasted to that of the Khalsa Republic which followed it. This will be expanded upon with an insight into analytical jurisprudence and ethics from a Sikh perspective.
Since the early 1980's the Sikh Education Council has been working hard on issues of importance to Sikhs and humanity as a whole along the path of Guru Nanak and we fully understand that continuity and development are vital to this discourse. As you will read from our website, this is the second event in a series to celebrate the tri-centenary of the 1st Khalsa Republic. Our first seminar was held earlier this year in Bristol and was very successful. We are sure that this event will prove just as valuable and look forward to seeing you there.
CABINET WAR ROOMS, CLIVE STEPS, KING CHARLES STREET, LONDON, SW1A 2AQ. SATURDAY 28th NOVEMBER 2009. 1PM. TICKET ONLY - £20. THESIKHWAY.COM
