Kotkapura (Punjab), May 23 (ANI): In a major incident in Punjab’s Faridkot district’s Kotkapura area, around 8,000 new and old electricity transformers along with power cables were gutted into fire on Saturday evening.

Seven fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the blazing fire but the fire was yet to be brought under control till 9.30 in evening.

Since the power service station is close to residential area, authorities made pubic to evacuate the place and had called in the Army personnel for help. (ANI)

Oh ho... 8,000 transformers is a lot, if you think about it. I wonder how much money and pain this is going to cost! I think when normal day temperatures are 40 degree Celsius, fire accidents can happen often.

ive heard of this place kotakpura..
thats pretty sad about fire yaar.. its already summer in india and these things gona make it worst.
nobody in india is willing to fix those stuff even if its all good.. in these conditions its gona be hard to survive in that region
