REIGATE, England, Feb. 3 -- A British appeals court rejected a farmer's request to stop the demolition of a castle he secretly built on his property and concealed for four years.

Robert Fidler of Salfords, Surrey, said the castle, which includes a cannon and ramparts made from discarded grain silos, was completed in 2002. He said he hid it behind bales of straw for four years while he was living inside with his wife and son, Sky News reported Wednesday.

Fidler said he took away the castle's disguise in 2006 due to a planning law loophole granting enforcement immunity to buildings that have been complete for more than four years. However, the Reigate and Banstead Borough Council said removing the camouflage from the castle was a part of its construction and ordered it demolished.

The farmer took the case to the High Court, but the appeals judge agreed with the council. Fidler's lawyer, Pritpal Singh Swarn, said further appeals are possible.

how can you say that? Govt. supplies them free power at the expanse of others. Govt. supplies fertilizers at highly subsidised rates. Govt. gives interest free loans to farmers and subsequently erase those loans too. Govt sells high quality seeds to them at subsidised rates. Govt. has almost eliminated commission agents and directly purchase their products. Diesel is cheaper than petrol in India coz of farmers, though it is costlier in europe, as cost of diesel production is more than petrol. Considering all these facts, what u think the cost of prouction is? and How can you ascertain that they are not being given fair price for their proucts? Sorry bibi but its a bitter truth that Indians blame everything on Govt., the govt. that they themselves elected. And no one gives a second thought to their own duties towards their society and country as a whole.
