Dalai Lama meeting 'pathetic'
« on: February 04, 2010, 05:35:38 PM »
BEIJING, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- China Daily, in another strongly-worded attack on U.S. President Barack Obama's plan to meet the Dalai Lama, said he was bowing to domestic politics.

"It is pathetic to see" Obama is likely to "succumb to domestic politics and go ahead with a plan" to meet the Tibetan spiritual leader, the newspaper said. China accuses the Buddhist monk, living in exile in India, of trying to promote independence for Tibet.

The report said as president of the world's only superpower, Obama is free to meet anybody on his own soil.

"But just don't paint this farce with a moral hue. We call that audacity of shame," the report said.

The Obama-Dalai Lama meeting, expected next month, "bodes ill for Sino-U.S. relations, already battered by the latest announcement of a $6.4 billion arms sale package to Taiwan," said the report.

China Daily and other Chinese media have kept up a barrage of attacks, warnings and threats after the Obama administration last week announced it was sending its Taiwan arms sales proposal to Congress.

"Times have changed," the report said. "But those ideology-driven politicians and China-bashers in the U.S. still don't realize that the ground has shifted beneath them."

The report said U.S. actions "will never change the fact that Tibet was, is, and will always be part of China."

This report seems very short and incomplete. Doesn't really gives much information. It just sounds like a writer's personal opinion. I don't see anything 'report' worthy in the article.

I agree Mam  I think most of PJians are aware of prevalant situation in Tibet as well as China's stand towards USA hegemony. I have been on PJ for almost 4 months and what i found nobody gives a shit about such articles. I asked Yanken Bibi to initiate a thread "What you think of person above you? Angel or Devil?" Every ABCD of Pj is registering his/her comment on that post. I hope i made myself clear so no point in going more details about such articles. I somtimes wonder, why i post such articles.  8-> I do wonder somtimes about present status of some PJians, particularly "Global Moderators". Barring one or two such officials, i dun think they even deserve the status of a Gabru. I hv many other reservations too but no point discussing such things. Nothing gonna change it for better.

I just commented on the article I guess. If you were worried about no one reading it, then no point in posting that little blurb either I guess. I mean someone like me would read it but then just get disappointed because there isn't really anything there to feed my mind.
I personally think you should post what you like and what interests you and I'm sure you will find like minded individuals. And if they don't respond or read, it's just a loss to them right?

Thoughts?

You guessed me all wrong Madam. I am not worried whether somone reads such posts or not. My point was, if such posts are not prudent enough for Pj, why shpud one make it more explicitive? I am a noob here n trying to pick some like minded persons, to share more serious stuff. And i am pretty sure, a person like u, needs no more details on this particular topic. So its better to keep such posts as candid as possible.

It's not about intelligence. It's easy to analyze someone, once you know them well enough.
