Pride is way different from Arogance\Sense of supeority.
Pride comes from facts, happenings and events.It is something our sub-consious mind is aware of as a fact, so it gets attached to our self esteem.This is why every one is proud of he or she is, and should be !
Where as arogance comes from insecurity or emptiness.Some insecure people fill it up with a superioity complex from the hard works of their forefathers and use it so that he or she doesn't have to burn him or herself.

So you see, these are two entirely different things.
We are all proud of being Punjabis and our great History.We've had a history and achievements which no one else has had and it is a fact !! But it is our responsibility to not let this pride be converted to arogance, that is our work, our job to keep up with the pride.
