If you on a boat (that is water) and the boat has stones in it. Out of those stones if you pick up one stone and through that in water. What would happen to the boat:

1. Nothing
2. It will Go up
3. It will Go down

- This was a question from one of my recent interviews.

No one... I think tat was a hard Question.. Challo here is the answer :happy:

Ans
When stone is in the boat... It is floating, n for a floating body it holds that the weight of the volume of displaced water = the weight of the floating body.

When the stone is in water, it just displaces the water volume to its own volume.

Since Stone Density > Water, it will displace more water when floating.. Hence when the stone is droped in water the water level will drop n hence the boat level

Did tat Make sense?? :happy:

Why does rubbing plastic and wool together create electricity?

Because there outer layer of electrons is loosely held.. N rubbing cause some transfer of electrons on the contact area.
This means that one surface has more electrons then it could hold causing an electron gradient and allowing the flow of electron (which in other words also called electricity)
