MAKING CLOTHES 'TRANSPARENT' instantaneously as you watch has taken a step closer to reality thanks to Tokyo University team led by Professor Susumu Tachi. Before the voyeurs out there start celebrating too hard though, you don't get to see what's underneath. Well, not exactly.

The team has managed to create clothes that are covered in tiny pieces of glass which effectively become a screen. A video camera is then used to record the scenery behind the wearer and the results are projected onto the clothes. The effect is that the wearer appears 'transparent'.

The team has said that the system is still less than perfect. Unless an observer is looking in roughly the same direction as the video camera, the clothes will not be a perfect match with the background.

The claimed uses are for things like surgery, allowing a surgeon to effectively see through their hands. We think they are seriously underestimating the revolution this technology could cause once it is perfected.

The possibilities seem endlessly strange. Like the problem trying to find some space inside a changing room, the darned places will be packed with pervs. Or the fun it could become popping down to the bank to make a "withdrawal". Let alone the opportunities for practical jokes. At the moment, we'd settle for a carrier bag that was 'transparent'. It would make shopping so much more interesting.

I thought the Americans were working on something similar in order to make soldiers invisible.

 Eh???

no wonderg, american can do anything for the army. Their milatry budget is much higher than others they have many research programs for the army.
They have robot guns, electronic guns which can fire without any machanism nd the operator can control the flow of fire.
They have a gun which can fire 3000 rounds per minute means 50 rounds per sec.
They have a gun which can be folded in corners nd soldier can shoot without xposing any part of his body.
They hav a plane which is unmaned oprator controls it from a control room. It flies so high that no radar can find it nd it has power full cameras that it can aim anything and distroy it without showing itself.

Even sm people believes that they hav also sm contact with alians nd also sm weapons using microwaves to distroy anything.
They have a plane which can intrrupt the communication in any country nd can broadcast anything they want.
They hv a bomb that can be droped from sky nd it can distroy 40 vahicals at one time with heat seaking techno.
Hooooof may be still they hv advanced technologies that i don't know.

It is really amazing, you can make out the soldiers outline but then he climbs into a tank and the camera sees much more clearly.
