Sat Sri Akal,

I wanted to start the thread with a congratulations everybody for the new PJ. But I think I'll start with...

Sorry for surprising you all with a new layout...


Old PJ
I used to love our old green/blue PJ. The simplicity and minimalistic look of the old PJ was one my favorte. Ever since we launched the site, a lot of people criticized at different points of time. Some said I don't change the site at all. Some said the green didn't look revolutionary enough. Some said it was too simple. Some just didn't like the color. But like I am, I stick by one thing for as long as I can. I have never changed the look of Sikh Sangeet, and it is one of my most successful sites. The core of the site is not in it's "design" or colors, it is in the usefulness of the site. Example: google

Punjabi vich: Menu purani PJ bahut sohni lagdi hundi si. Kafi lokan ne menu ohdi ghaata vare daseya jida ke saadgi, hhra rang, par mein ohde naal lagga reha. Mein Sikh Sangeet da layout aj tak nahi badleya, te oh site kini mashoor hai, oh mein soch vi nahi sakda si. Es da sitta eh nikalda hai ke rangan vich kuch ni rakheya, asal gal site di varton di hai.


Why New PJ
I have wanted to upgrade to a better PJ with extra features for a long time, to fix the broken things that PJ had. Not just to "change" the look of it. This new site has some cool features like cool WYSIWYG editor, dropdown navigation, PM notification popups, and tons of nifty features all over the place and more are coming as I add them.

Punjabi vich: Navi PJ di lorh si kionki bahut cheezan main ethey kar sakda, jo mein purani site vich nahi kar sakda si, kionki osda code bahut purana si. Es vich tusi post editor nu dekho, kina ghaint aa, navigation dekho, PM options dekho, hor dekho akhan parh parh ki ki mein kamal ghoteya.


Now I ask you...
What are the problems that you are facing? List your problems here. Provide constructive criticism about colors, features, etc. What is the feature/bug that you care about most?

Punjabi vich: Hun mein tuhanu puchda tusi dasso ki tuhanu pasand te ki nahi. Menu apnia samseyava, uljana, arhdonia, te gunzlan vare dasso, jithe PJ ne tuhanu kharab keeta, te mein koshish karunga ona nu theek karan di.

Current status
- New Layout up 3/8/11
- New features up 3/8/11
- Activity Stream up in limp mode 3/9/11

To Do


- all video links are down - utube disabled


- the last look of the forum was better, where the left index in the forum included - member online, recent topic was better


- the back color seems messed up - should be fully silver - rather than 1/4 red and 3/4 silver


- everyone profile is showing recent topics


- no simleys in activity stream


- shout box missing


- quoting way is ugly .. it keep on adding quotes (cumulative)


- home page (recent topics) doesnt make sense. delete it

Tussi saada display color change karan to pehlan voting buttons launde ho aur saada ghar pura chakk ke badal saanu dassiya vi ni :dnk:

This came more as a shock than a surprise X_X ... but oh well we will have to get used to it.
