I am pretty sure that some one would have already shared this news here on punjabi janta but just felt like sharing it once again:

she is Irom Sharmila Chanu....has been fasting for the past 11 years...(the Manipur govt giving liquid food through her nose from 11 yrs )
She has not eaten anything since November 4, 2000 demanding the Government of India
to withdraw the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 (AFSPA) from Manipur.A law that gives Army the power to shoot anyone at their will,A draconian law with many other inhuman provisions ..
Just Think?????........
we don't know much about her because of "NO PUBLICITY",
Even Nautanki's like Rakhi Sawant or Punam Pandey's are known to everybody bt not a Brave woman like her who sacrificed herself for humanity..

Irony and society sometimes seem to be synonym. And its a surprise no longer.

Vaise Irom Sharmila nu world-wide coverage boht mildi hai.. Even more than Anna .. But India zyadatar lok taan jandev nahin ke kaun hai.

Anna da jo mudda hai oh har insan de dil da kanda - corruption - hai but Irom da jo mudda hai oh aene lokan nu affect nahin karda.. Bas shayad es layi hai ke usdi sacrifice da onna mull nahin pai reha...

Right. Gallan do ne ethe. Ik taan jinve tusi keha bhed-chaal hai.. Duji gal hai ke v as humans are naturally self-centered whether we realize it consciously or not. Matlab os pasey bheed hamesha zyada hovegi jitthe nafaa zyada disey..

Irom Sharmila nu anekan internation awards v mil chuke ne.. May be she was also nominated for nobel peace prize once.. But Awards ki karange jadon usdi struggle da koi nateeja nahin nikkal reha...

This one hits home eh Supreet? I dont know how many times I've heard/seen you talk about the movie star the one you have a pic with.

We are self absorbed/self-pitied. Takes some strong events to make us take such a step, most of us do not have the courage to do so.
