If your father is white and your mother indian, but she left him before you were born because he is a drug addict. She has now remarried to an indian man(Your step father). Would you one day(When you're old enough) want to know who your real father is?

The reason i'm asking is because this actually has happened in my city. The girl is punjabi, the guy is a kiwi. They were married but they got divorced because of his drug addiction. She was pregnant with his child. The girl now married an indian guy. Recently gave birth to her son from that kiwi dude. So if you guys were this newborn 'baby', would you want to meet your real father(The white man) one day? Would you care that he had/has drug addiction? Or would you only love your step father who stuck by your side throughout the years?

May be there is no possibility that the girl will ever let the baby know that who is his real father. N the baby will never feel to find his real dad if the relation between this couple will have no problems , the boy is good enough to give love n care to that baby as a father . Bt if the boy has somthing in his heart then for sure it will play some role to make that baby think to find his real father

I hope the mother will have the courage to tell him one day. He does deserve to know i reckon and she should just leave it up to him whether or not he wants to find him.

Hahahaha sounds like what would happen in a movie. Nah um, keep in mind they were happily in love and he didn't leave, the girl left. They divorced because she didn't like the fact that he was addicted to drugs. Like i said above, she should tell her son about his real father one day and leave it up to him whether he will want to meet him or not.

I don't think being white or indian has anything to do with the situation. It could be the case with anyone. I'd want to know both...

Addiction is an evil thing. It can make the most sensible people lose everything. There isn't enough information available to judge the drug addict or the child.

Who knows what the circumstances were. Just because he's a drug addict doesn't mean i'd never want to meet him. Everyone needs help sometimes.

It's funny how she managed to get married quickly to another guy though. Like she's carrying another man's child and she just got divorced to him and she soon remarries. I don't know about you but that definitely shows me something

Yeah, nah just comparing indian parenting to kiwi parenting and if this was anyone's(Particularly indian people) situation, would it have any difference. I don't agree of the man being a drug addict but i don't agree with the girl getting married so soon either, thinking she can replace the baby's dad and raise it like their own. Honestly it looks that way

Let's hope so. I saw the baby, he's pretty cute

You don't know what the situation may have been, so, no point of judging someone.

The right thing would be tell the child once he/she's grown up and leave the decision to them whether they want to pursue the relaitonship.
Ideally, if I was the kid, I wouldn't want to know. A father is who cares for you, loves you, and is there for you in every fatherly way and not someone who donated some sperm and left. Regardless, if he pursue the relationship, then wouldn't completely shut him off either. Everyone deserves second chances.

Not the whole story, no. But she got remarried a little too early i reckon. And atleast the dude didn't go around "donating" more sperm and did what she did and married someone else. I agree about leaving the decision to their son. Fingers crossed, she'll do the right thing
