73.5% of Punjab’s youth is addicted to drugs. A multi million drug nexus operating under the noses of the Border Security Force, The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, The Narcotics Control Bureau and the Intelligence Bureau, leaving them as mere bystanders to Punjab’s erosion. The yearly consumption of alcohol in Punjab is touching 29 Crore bottles making it one of the highest per capita consumers of alcohol in the world!
The scenario in Punjab is worsening at such a rapid rate, that experts have already begun to put an expiry date to the state.
The documentary focuses on the imminent threat of drug mania in Punjab. It explores in detail how the drug is trafficked in Punjab from India Pakistan border and this network spreads through the country.
Narrated by Rahul Bose and cited by many a important names. However at times it does try to build pathos to get the sympathies of the viewer, but mostly it stays rather bold. Really an eye opener.

I don’t think 73% is the right number, more like 80%-90% are addicted to drugs and alcohol. It’s not only the youth;  people in their 40’s and 50’s are doing drugs too. Go to any village in Punjab and ask and they will tell you there’s only 5-10 guys in the whole village who don’t do drugs. Not a single marriage in India is complete without alcohol.

Experiy te huni hi ek din, paani thalle jai jande. Jis tara Punjab cho mitti mukki jandi ese tara Pani wi ni labna kise din peen nu. Kisan mitti ch mitti hoye janda te ohi haal ah ohda jo 50 saal phela si. Koi taraki da sadhan hai ni. Aloo es saal sare mar ge, Government kisana nu dau mul ehne nuksaan da? Haar ke kisaan ki karan je suicides na karan?? Bimariya wadhi jandia wa, shapard pind de wich patte hoye ah, je shapard pindo bahar hon, lokki bimar wi ghat hon te bimaria wi na ehnia laggan.

There are heaps more problems in Punjab. Drugs are not the only one, We using all that chemicals to increase production of food which resulting in cancer and other diseases. Lack of opportunities resulted in youth running out of country for there future. There is no growth in Industry at all.
Last time I been there, there is no pure water to drink anymore.

yes thats right every person i know in india...all my schoolmates and friends except only 2..... they all consume  drugs... from drugs i don't count alcohol in it
