Best Tips and Tricks For Windows XP

It is very annoying to sit back for a long time after hitting the shut down button. Learn some tweaks by which you can make it faster.
 
 The first thing we need to do is access the Registry by going to Start > Run and type in "regedit" (no quotes) then click OK.

Now with the Registry Editor navigate to  HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Control Panel \ Desktop
 Under this menu set the keys to the following corresponding values:
 HungAppTimeout -> 1000
 WaitToKillAppTimeout -> 1000
 
 Further, scroll down to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ System \ CurrentControlSet \ Control
 Set
 WaitToKillServiceTimeout -> 1000
