A Pathetic Tale of India's Batting

A Pathetic Tale of India's Batting

Spinning track, Green top, Under-Prepared wicket - India have tried everything to dominate England - everything except batting, bowling and fielding well! And the results are there for everyone to see. The pathetic and sorry state of the Indian batting continued and they were left gasping for breath by an inspirational spell of top quality swing bowling from James Anderson. At stumps on Day 2, India had limped to 87/4, still trailing England by 243 runs.

If ever India needed Virender Sehwag to fire, it was today. But James Anderson had slightly different plans. He produced a scorcher to go past the defense of the Nawab of Najafgarh, cleaning him up for a duck off the third ball of the innings.

Gambhir wanted to make a statement after coming in for a lot of criticism from various quarters for his 'selfish' batting in Kolkata. He looked to be aggressive and hit a few delightful cover drives to the boundary. The southpaw danced down the track and attacked Monty Panesar, smashing him for a four over his head, clearly trying to upset England's ace spinner early in his spell. Pujara, meanwhile was solid in defense at the other end. India went into Tea on 32/1.

The real drama unfolded in the last session. The Indian pair began well post Tea. They were now growing in confidence and looked at ease against the English bowlers. They were picking up the ones and twos, milking the bowling and getting the occasional boundary. They soon brought up the 50 run stand for the 2nd wicket.

Then out of the blue, Graeme Swann got one to turn and bounce and got Pujara caught at short leg - replays showed the batsman hadn't gloved the ball and it had come off his elbow - an unlucky departure for Pujara. India were reduced to 59/2. Sachin Tendulkar walked in to a standing ovation. He was welcomed by two absolute rippers by Monty Panesar.
The nightmare and the horror continued for the Little Master when he was cleaned up by an absolute scorcher by James Anderson - the ball reverse swinging, keeping a touch low, beating the little man's defense and crashing into the stumps. Tendulkar was caught in the crease, playing neither forward nor back. There was a deathly silence in the stadium.

England were on top now. Anderson was again in the midst of an inspiring spell. India was in deep trouble at 64 for 3.

Gautam Gambhir was no where near his best but was fighting it out in the middle. He had reached a patient and gutsy 37 before he became James Anderson's 3rd victim - paying the price for flirting with a swinging delivery outside the off-stump, getting an outside edge for an easy catch to Prior. India were in dire straights at 71/4. Anderson had produced the most outstanding spell of genuine high quality swing bowling. Dhoni and Kohli survived a few anxious moments and took the home team to 87/4 at stumps on Day 2. They still trailed England by a massive 243 runs.

Joe Root and James Anderson had been the stand-out performers for England on the day. India had been bruised and battered and completely outplayed. The Indian batsmen had once again failed to deliver and once again it had been that familiar and collective collapse, as if they had accepted their fate and were now just going through the motions.
The first target for the hosts would be to save the follow on.

The writing is on the wall and it does not read pretty. India need some magic from somewhere and the time is running out. Its now or never!

Mmh now I think its time for the indian managment to sit down and think about this.. One thing is clear for sure.. They are lacking in something.. But HOW can they solve this to avoid this kind of losses..

Hume laga tha India ke liye England se ye badla lena ka acha mooka hai..
Lekin yahan phir wohi ho raha hai joh Engalnd main huwa tha :lost:

Nasser Hussain slams 'God-like' India cricketers

London: Former England captain Nasser Hussain has questioned the "attitude" of some of India's "God-Like" cricketers, and also doubted their hunger to succeed in the longer version of the game.

He handpicked some of Indian cricket's big names and questioned their commitment towards Test cricket in the wake of the India's back-to-back defeat in the ongoing four-Test series against England.

"India have big questions to answer in the aftermath of the Kolkata Test and the biggest surrounds the attitude of their near God-like top names," Hussain wrote in his column for the Daily Mail.

"When the likes of MS Dhoni, Gautam Gambhir and the rest went back to their hotel rooms after that defeat in the third Test, how much were they hurting? How much hunger for the long-haul form of the game with its mental and physical demands have these multi-millionaire players still got?

"Are they thinking, deep down, 'Never mind', and prioritising instead the fun, glamour and huge financial rewards that come from the Indian Premier League?"

every player has his time na.. He played for his country for a long time now.. He also achieved a lot and he's having a really bad time
on the field now.. Aise halaat main managment ke paas do hi option hoti hain.. Ya toh selfish cricket khelwao puraane players ko na nikalne ki khawahis main aur apni team and country ko match pe match harwaate jao.. Ya phir new fresh talent ko chance do aur apni team ko is azaab se nikalo..

I think the choice should be clear

Sachin on this position now where he decide when he gonna retire not the cricket board, if team loose its nt one player,s fault, win or loose its team efforts, one player can,t change the whole drama, he playing from long tym coz ppl want to see him, he is face of cricket,
all tym great player sir viv Richard,s statement yesterday, let the legand decide when he quit,

exaclty! that's the whole point.. The team doesnt seem to put any kind of effort to win these matches.. It looks like unko koi farak hi nahi par raha ke woh har match haarte ja rahe hain :lost: I totaly agree with Nasser Hussain.. You should read what he wrote.. or hold on I'll copy paste it here

"[Coach Duncan] Fletcher will want to look into the eyes of Dhoni, Gambhir, Virender Sehwag and even (Sachin) Tendulkar to see how much hunger they have," he wrote in his piece.

Hussain feels India desperately need a win in the last Test in Nagpur, beginning December 13 to redeem their battered reputation to some extent.

"That is the crux of the issue now for India. The last thing their cricket needs, really, is a win in Nagpur and a share of this series because all that would do is paper over the cracks.

"India left Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh out of their squad for the final Test but it is attitudes as much as personnel that need to change," he said.

Hmm I dont know about who's a racist and who's not.. But I just said I agree with stuff he wrote..

Agar team istrha se khel rahi ho toh soochna toh parta hi hai ke where are things going wrong? I don't think its a bad idea to replace "big names" with new players which have talent.. Fresh players hon ge unko chance dena banta hai..

Rahi IPL ki baat toh there is big money involved which isnt looking good for indian cricket.. Ek toh players ka dehan zyada ipl pe rehaa hai.. short format and loads of money.. aur doosri taraf players focus nahi kar rahe real ames pe.. These players attitude on the field is like " haar rahe hain toh kaya ho geya "..

And Ipl khilwate ho toh waha pe kitne new players mil rahe hain apko joh apki team ko lift kar sakte hain toh kyun nahi is playing 11 ko change kiya ja raha?? :lost:

Dhoni also not doing a good job.. Lekin usko hattaya hi nahi ja raha.. Why?? Because management in khiladiyon ko ( dhoni, sachin, sehwag) ko httana hi nahi chahti..
Aur apni kamzooriyon ko theek karni ki jaga ye blame doosron ko kar rahe hain? Does that make any sense? Look at england unse kuch sheeko na ke unpe ilzaam lagao

To be honest it doesnt really matter to me as i am not an Indian.. But as a cricket fan I ought to say this.. Sawal kisi 1 team ka nahi, cricket ke future ka hai.. Even our (pakistani team) has some isseus.. Par chalo we made a change this time and left out Afridi and I think Malik too..

Come on and stop palying selfish cricket.. throw these old players out of the team

Ap saari baat ko hi ghalat le rahi ho.. I am not trying to show someone down.. Like I said before I felt that he has a point in what he wrote above..

Legend toh hain woh par kaya iska matlab ye hai ke kabhi team se bahir hi na kiya jaay?? Team ka faida dekna chaaye ya kisi ek player ka? A team is bound to win and if they can win with other players then why not??

As far as being jealous is concerned toh you are getting it wrong.. Neecha dhikane ki baat nahi hai.. Woh toh hamesha se hi hota aa raha hai ke doosre pe aisi aise comments do jinki tukk nahi banti hai..  For example ye dhek lo.. Indian media did the same
Sensational Indian media reports on England's bowling coach Mushtaq Ahmed

Team perform nahi theek se kar rahi.. Match england se ho raha hai aur beech main baat aa rahi hai Mushtaq ki.. :loll:

Anyway choro lets see ab agge kaya hota hai
