Ye jo sar guzishta se phirte hain kitaabo'n waale
in se mat mil ke inhe rog hain khwaabo'n waale

ab maah-o-saal ki mohlat nahi milne waale
aa chuke ab to shab-o-roz azaabo'n waale

ab to sab dashna-o-khanjar ki zubaa'n bolte hain
ab kahaan log mohabbat ke nisaabo'n waale

jo dilo'n par hi kabhi hakaab zani karte thhey
ab gharo'n tak chale aaye wo nikaabo'n waale

zinda rehne ki tamanna ho to ho jaate hain
faakhto'n ke kirdaar bhi uqaabo'n waale

na mere zakhm khile hain na tera rang-e-hina
ab ke mousam hi nahi aaye gulaabo'n waale

yoon lagta hai ke qismat ka sikandar hai FARAZ
magar andaaz hain sab khaana kharaabo'n wale

Deepavali is a festival of lights but it seems light has gone out of our lives as we witness so much violence against innocent people.

While offering most sincere greetings for this festival of lights let us pray together that light of wisdom returns to our lives over coming darkness of hatred and violence. After all Deepavali symbolizes victory of good over evil. Real celebration lies in sincere efforts to bring back light of wisdom to our lives.
