Why it is said that "It is mandatory to cover the head of women"?

Vaheguru ji ka khalsa Vaheguru ji ki fateh :ssa:
I have heard manier times and mostly you guys have also heard that "it is necessary to keep the head covered especially to women in sikh society.!"
Well...men tie turban so its not an issue to them..but what about women?
I want legitimate answers...!

I don't know how accurate this is yeah but here goes..
1. For respect? (Idk why this shows respect but it does :wow:)
2. I've also heard that keeping your head covered means you stay humble

What I think is that back in the day, obviously roads etc were not that clean, there was dust and mitti ghatta all around so to protect your hair, you'd cover your head? This was done all over the world so only decent answer I can think of :kudi:

i think first of all..... it symbol of respect....


es sde kalgighar pita dhan dhan shri guru gobind singh ji da hukam... te guru de hukam ch kintu pranto nhi hunde.....

also I feel that our "kes" ki smbhal sikh da farz hai .... to keep it neat and clean.

these are my personal views.
