When Maharani Jindan was reunited with her son Dalip Singh she first touched his face due to her having a very weak eyesight (completely blind in some accounts) after, a small pause of weeping the first words to come from her are “it didn’t hurt me as much when I lost your father, it didn’t hurt me as much when I lost all wealth and respect, it didn’t hurt me as much when the Sikh Empire was defeated nor did it hurt me as much when I was separated from my son, but on witnessing my son having forsaken the Identity of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, this is truly the worst day of my life.’’
