Guru is god like in power, a creator, a protector and a destroyer. guru has got the power to punish the evil doer and to protect the virtuous and the poor.

each one of the ten gurus represents a divine attribute:

Sri Guru Nanak Sahib ji. - humility
Sri Guru Angad Sahib ji. - obedience
Sri Guru Amardass Sahib ji. - equality
Sri Guru Ramdass Sahib ji. - service
Sri Guru Arjan Sahib ji. - self sacrifice
Sri Guru Har Gobind Sahib ji. - justice
Sri Guru Har Rai Sahib ji. - mercy
Sri Guru Har Krishan Sahib ji. - purity
Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib ji. - tranquility
Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji. - royal courage
Sri Guru Ganth Sahib ji. -light all ten gurus
