We all know that the relationship between is very close and deep in our country, especially Punjab. The sister spend their life with proud on the confidence on their brothers. Brother always takes care of their sister and respect all times, the sister is always proud to have a brother.

Elder sister take much care of their young brother, They tell about their brother on the school time.
“adhi marda school jawe Veer mera nicka jeha”

Sometimes the sister also plays the role of a mother. On this time elder sister give the love of mother and also of sister to their young brother and take care of them. The sister always waits at the entrance for their young small brother to arrive back from the school and welcome him at the doors and sing in joy.

Many festivals are celebrated related on this realationship in our country. These festivals are heartly waited and celebrated by the brother and sister. Raksha Bandhan is also a such festival that relates to this love and relationship. Sister always wants that their brother to look much smart then others. Some songs are sing by the sisters on seeing their brother , who is going to the fair and a line form one of those songs sounds like

Sisters also stand by their brothers in their happiness and sorrows even after marriage. Sister is always waiting for their brothers in their in-laws home and are overwhelmed when her brother comes to visti her.

ਸਤਾਰਵੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਠਾਰਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਵਿਚ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਸਿੱਖ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਸਿੱਖ ਧਰਮ ਦਾ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਸ ਗਏ। ਇਹ ਸਿੱਖ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਭਾਈ ਮਤੀ ਦਾਸ, ਭਾਈ ਸਤੀ ਦਾਸ, ਭਾਈ ਦਿਆਲਾ ਜੀ, ਭਾਈ ਮਨੀ ਸਿੰਘ, ਬਾਬਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਹਾਦਰ, ਭਾਈ ਬੋਤਾ ਸਿੰਘ, ਭਾਈ ਗਰਜਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਆਦਿ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਨਿਵੇਕਲੀ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਹਾਦਤ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਭਾਈ ਤਾਰੂ ਸਿੰਘ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਭਾਈ ਤਾਰੂ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਪੂਹਲਾ ਤਹਿਸੀਲ ਕਸੂਰ ਜ਼ਿਲਾ ਲਾਹੌਰ (ਪਾਕਿ) ਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਨ। ਬਚਪਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾ ਸਾਇਆ ਸਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਉਠ ਜਾਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ-ਪੋਸ਼ਣ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਛਕਾ ਕੇ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਜਾਇਆ। ਈਮਾਨਦਾਰੀ ਤੇ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਰਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਜੁਗਤੀ ਸਿਖਾਈ। ਭਾਈ ਜੀ ਬਚਪਨ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਸੰਤ ਸੁਭਾਅ ਦੇ ਸਨ। ਥੋੜ੍ਹੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹਲ ਚਲਾ ਕੇ ਮਿਹਨਤ-ਮੁਸ਼ੱਕਤ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਨਿਰਬਾਹ ਦਾ ਸਾਧਨ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।
”ਘਾਲਿ ਖਾਇ ਕਿਛੁ ਹਥਹੁ ਦੇਇ”
ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਮਹਾਵਾਕ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕਿਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਵੰਡ ਕੇ ਛਕਦੇ ਸਨ। ਭਾਈ ਤਾਰੂ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਸੁਭਾਅ ਵੰਡ ਛਕਣ ਤੇ ਲੋੜਵੰਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ। ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਿਰਤ-ਕਮਾਈ ‘ਚ ਲੰਗਰ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਜਿਥੇ ਵੇਲੇ-ਕੁਵੇਲੇ ਆਉਂਦੇ-ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੂਰਬੀਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਛੁੱਟ, ਹਿੰਦੂ-ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਦ ਛਕਦੇ ਤੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ। ਭਾਈ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਾਵਨਾ ਦੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਹ ਦੂਰ-ਦੂਰ ਤਕ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
ਵਕਤ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਾਲਮ ਹਕੂਮਤ ਦੇ ਇਕ ਮੁਖਬਰ ਤੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਘੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਹਰਭਗਤ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੀਏ ਨੇ ਲਾਹੌਰ ਦੇ ਗਵਰਨਰ ਜ਼ਕਰੀਆ ਖ਼ਾਨ ਪਾਸ ਭਾਈ ਤਾਰੂ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਚੁਗਲੀ ਲਗਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਤੇ ਕੰਨ ਭਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਕਿ ਭਾਈ ਤਾਰੂ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਨਾਹ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਛਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਰਭਗਤ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੀਏ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਦੀ ਸੱਚਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਘੋਖੇ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਜ਼ਕਰੀਆ ਖ਼ਾਨ ਨੇ ਭਾਈ ਤਾਰੂ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਜਾਰੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਭਾਈ ਤਾਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਹਲੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿਚ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਤੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਥੇਰਾ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਭਾਈ ਜੀ ਤਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਨੇਕ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਫਿਕਰ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਟੱਲ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੂਲਾਂ ਢਿੱਲੀਆਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਜ਼ਕਰੀਆ ਖ਼ਾਨ ਦੀ ਕਚਹਿਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਭਾਈ ਤਾਰੂ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਈ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਕਈ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੰਡ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ। ਆਖਿਰ ਭਾਈ ਜੀ ਅਸੂਲਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ ਰਹਿਣ ਨਾਲ ਜ਼ਕਰੀਆ ਖ਼ਾਨ ਨੇ ਦੋ ਸ਼ਰਤਾਂ ਰੱਖੀਆਂ, ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਬਣ ਜਾਓ ਜਾਂ ਮਰਨ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਓ। ਤਾਂ ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ”ਕੀ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਬਣਨ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਣੀ? ਕੀ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਮਰਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ? ਜੇ ਮੌਤ ਨੇ ਫੇਰ ਵੀ ਆ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਧਰਮ ਕਿਉਂ ਬਦਲਾਂ? ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਕਬੂਲ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਡਰਦਾ।
ਜ਼ਕਰੀਆ ਖ਼ਾਨ ਨੇ ਜੱਲਾਦ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦਿਆ ਤੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਭਾਈ ਤਾਰੂ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਖੋਪਰੀ ਸਮੇਤ ਕੇਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਅਲੱਗ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ। ਭਾਈ ਜੀ ਮੁਖ ਤੋਂ ‘ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ’ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਚਿਹਰੇ ‘ਤੇ ਰੱਤੀ ਭਰ ਵੀ ਭੈਅ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੇਖਦਿਆਂ-ਵੇਖਦਿਆਂ ਜੱਲਾਦ (ਮੋਚੀ) ਨੇ ਤੇਜ਼ ਰੰਬੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਾਈ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਖੋਪਰੀ ਕੇਸਾਂ ਸਣੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਭਾਈ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਹੌਸਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਸਿਦਕ ਦੀ ਦਾਦ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਸਮਾਂ ਜੁਲਾਈ 1745 ਈ. ਦਾ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਅੱਜਕਲ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਲੜਕੇ ਤੇ ਲੜਕੀਆਂ ਕੇਸਾਂ ਤੇ ਰੋਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੇਅਦਬੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਦਸਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਪੰਥ ਦੀ ਸਾਜਨਾ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਿਰ ਦੀ ਚੋਟੀ ਦੇ ਕੇਸਾਂ (ਵਾਲਾਂ) ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਪੈਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਗੂਠੇ ਤਕ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਕੇਸਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਟਣਾ ਜਾਂ ਮਨਾਉਣ ਜਾਂ ਕਤਲ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਮਨਾਹੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਰਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ।
