nce during a holy conversation, father was holding with venerable Baba Isher Singh Ji in praise and glory of Mahan Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj, Baba Isher Singh Ji narrated a personal experience of his own to us. There were number of other devotees also present.
Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj was once busy in the holy service of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. It was time for the Holy Scripture to be closed for rest. Baba Isher Singh Ji who was standing there, was watching Mahan Babaji with a fixed gaze, thinking all the time of total merger of Babaji with His most adorable, lovable, worshipful Lord Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Mahan Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj, just at that time, in a most compassionate and divine mood looked at Baba Isher Singh Ji and in His ecstatic characteristic humility kept His forehead on the open Sri Guru Granth Sahib, with all reverence. No sooner He did this, He disappeared physically in the holy folds and lap of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. As Babaji did not reappear from the holy Sri Guru Granth Sahib for some time, venerable Baba Isher Singh Ji got worried and started praying to Babaji to kindly return from the Holy source of His merger. Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj reappeared from Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
Esteemed Baba Isher Singh Ji then added that all this he saw with his own physical eyes with the Grace of Mahan Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj. He saw physical merger of the great Worshipper and the Worshipped Lord into one entity and then physical emergence of Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj again as a separate entity apparently for the redemption of mankind.
Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj, had disappeared bodily into the divine bosom of Sri Guru Granth Sahib; he had physically disappeared into the splendour and glory of all pervading Parbrahm Guru Nanak, and had re-merged as the blazing Sun of Divinity from His Supreme Abode and divine source that Sri Guru Granth Sahib is.

Sri Guru Granth Sahib glorifies the spiritual stature of a true saint, a true Brahm Giani, a true Gurmukh. The garb of a Saint, a true Brahm Giani, a Gurmukh adorned the form of Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj. And Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj glorified the true grandeur of Sri Guru Granth Sahib as never before.
He proclaimed that Sri Guru Nanak Sahib is a living and Eternal Supreme Reality, Divinity and Truth. Based on His own mystical and direct experiences He proves beyond an iota of doubt that one can physically serve and talk to the Lord Guru Nanak. Great mystics and bhagats whose hymns (bani) have been enshrined in Sri Guru Granth Sahib vouch for this unique mystical attainment. If mystics like Namdev & Dhanna Jat could succeed in materialising the Lord physically from idols of stone, is it difficult to behold Him physically in Sri Guru Granth Sahib in which the Supreme power and shakti of the Great Gurus stands fully invested by the Gurus themselves? Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj used to say in honour of Sri Guru Granth Sahib:
Eh Jeonda, Jaagda, Bolda, Guru Nanak Hai Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj Sri Guru Granth Sahib is a living and awake Sri Guru Nanak Sahib who talks. The entire earthly life-span of Mahan Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj was totally dedicated to the glorification of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. And when one witnesses simultaneous recitation of hundreds of Akhand paths of Sri Guru Granth Sahib at Nanaksar in His Sacred Remembrance during the last week of August every year, one cannot escape the divine reality that in the holy process of Eternal Glorification of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj stands eternally glorified Himself.
Jin Nanak Satgur Poojia Tin Har Pooj Karaawa Sri Guru Granth Sahib (450) The one who truly worships his Satguru, the Lord blesses him to be universally worshipped. Jini Satgur Purakh Manaayia Tin Pooje Sab Koi Sri Guru Granth Sahib (451) That Gurmukh who has won over the Satguru is worshipped by the whole world. After father realised his beloved Master and Lord Guru Nanak in flesh and blood, shone the significance and the immortality of the holy boon mercifully granted by the all compassionate Mahan Babaji.

rue divine love compels the Lord to grace the Lover with His blissful vision. The Lord appeared in person in His blissful visible form before His true bhagats like Namdev, Dhanna and others. so did the most compassionate Lord, Supreme Lord of this kaliyuga, blessed Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj with His visible divine presence whenever He remembered Him.
He yearned to see the Nami, the Supreme Daata (bestower) of Nam. Agony of his heart, tarap, vyakulta, yearning devotion and burning love to see the Lord Guru Nanak in flesh and Blood had reached a point of desperation. He, therefore, decided to either realise His Lord Guru Nanak face to face or die.
Through his own direct realisation of Sri Guru Nanak Sahib face to face from Sri Guru Granth Sahib, he gave the tradition, maryada, spiritual culture in worship of Sri Guru Granth Sahib the most needed, and sought-for authenticity. His approach was different, it was unique, never practised before in such totality, in such intensity and yearning. He prayed to the Nami. the Rachanhaar to show Himself up, to appear face to face, to emerge in person before the naked eye from His permanent abode, in Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
His approach was direct and so were His means to achieve the sublime aim. His vision and union was also direct. Sri Guru Nanak Sahib Lord of Love had to, perforce, appear in flesh and blood to extinguish the spiritual hunger and thirst of His most beloved Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj. Hymns of Sri Guru Granth Sahib leap to life, become easily perceivable and understandable when envisioned in the background of the Divine Life lived by Mahan Babaji.
That is what He compassionately bestowed on His beloved spiritual son when He blessed my father with the Namdaan :
'Depty Jholi Kar, Aj tainu Nam Naal Naami Vi Dita' Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj Deputy, spread your chadar, you are today blessed with both Nam and Nami. After father realised his beloved Master and Lord Guru Nanak in flesh and blood, shone the significance and the immortality of the holy boon mercifully granted by the all compassionate Mahan Babaji.

ivinely commissioned and appointed by His great Master to spread the gospel of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, He set out to scatter that unique flavour far and wide, the like of which has not been seen so far, and is far beyond the limits of human endeavour.
He unfolded the Supreme grandeur of Sri Guru Granth Sahib splendidly and glorified the eternal Sri Guru Granth Sahib as the living Guru Nanak magnificently. Blessing of Sri Guru Granth Sahib was supreme and He advised everyone to invoke that blessing by completing one path of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in a month in the following manner:
Complete recitation of the whole of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in a month. Complete 50 paths of Sri Sukhmani Sahib in a month; recite 2 paths of Sri Sukhmani Sahib daily. Complete 250 paths of Jap Ji Sahib in a month; recite 10 paths of JapJi Sahib daily. Complete 180 Malas (Rosary Mala of 108 beads) of Mool Mantra (from Ekonkar to Nanak Hosi Bhi Such) in a month; do six malas daily. Complete 80 Malas daily of Gur Mantar 'Waheguru'; 20 Malas of Waheguru if the Nam is recited four times on each bead. Complete 160 Malas daily of Ram (Nam); 40 Malas if Ram is recited four times on each bead A Mohammedan was advised to practice and recite the name of Allah on each bead as above. Hundreds of crores of Sri Guru Granth Sahib's paths were thus distributed as the most blessed Parshad to millions of devotees in His life time and are continuing uninterrupted since then.
He, thus, brought the supreme blessing of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the living Sri Guru Nanak Sahib within easy comprehension, reach and grasp of everyone, educated, uneducated, lettered, unlettered, literate, illiterate and simple village folks. Every one recited Amrit Nam and sang the glory of Sri Guru Nanak Sahib in this simple and easy way.
That was the grand purpose behind His holy advent. Uniqueness and greatness of the Eternal Glory of Sri Guru Granth Sahib was unveiled in its totality. The precious treasure of Lord's Name was thrown open to all. It was so simple, easily understandable within the grasp and practice of simple village folk. He freely distributed this Dargahi ticket destined for Sach Khand.
Though He physically disappeared in August 1943 from this earthly scene, He perennially flows as Eternal presence in this very Dargahi Ticket given as Prashad by Him. Lakhs of refugees from either side during the partition of 1947 experienced the miraculous power of this Dargahi ticket, Dargahi Name with the Eternal presence of the Saviour Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj, and were saved. Such was the unique power of Nam He distributed.
In possession of this unique Prashad, Divine Ticket, they passed through the most dreaded naked dance of death, but not a single person blessed with this celestial ticket could be injured or harmed or died an unnatural death.
All Glory to Mahan Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj.
Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj thus blessed millions with unique Prashad of the Lord. Unique Prashad of redeeming Gur Mantar, Mul Mantar, Japji, Sukhmani Sahib, Ram Nam and in addition the paths of Bhagwat Gita and Holy Quran Sharif were distributed as Parshad to Hindus and Muslims in same congregations.
Nam was not the privilege of a selected few. It was open to all It was distributed freely to everyone without any consideration of caste, religion and creed.
By thus propagating the Gospel of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Lakhs of illiterate, simple and plain-hearted villagers were able to feel and experience the spiritual satisfaction of attaining the Grace of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Babaji had thus brought lofty ideals of personal service and worship of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and resultant spiritual attainment within the immediate reach and grasp of millions of completely illiterate folk. Only those who practice, know how wonderful and rewarding this spiritual Sadhana is!

aba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj was practical expression and true exposition of the pure love of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Love of Sri Guru Granth Sahib was the most overwhelming, the most enrapturing, the most inspiring, the most vibrant aspect of the divine personality of Mahan Babaji. Never has the world witnessed such unique adoration, love and worship of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj, a personification of humility, had never physically turned His back towards Sri Guru Granth Sahib in His whole life. This reminds one of the great life of the Holiest of the Holy Sri Guru Amar Das Ji, who had not physically turned His back towards Sri Guru Angad Sahib. Because for Mahan Babaji, Sri Guru Granth Sahib was the living, the visible God, Nirankar Saroop Sri Guru Nanak Sahib Himself: how could the greatest divine lover of all times in the very living presence of His beloved Lord, turn His back towards Him. Those who are not aware of the actual living presence of the supreme Lord in Sri Guru Granth Sahib cannot understand and grasp the subtlety of such great sentiment of devotion.
Har Man Tan Vasia Soi Jai Jai Kar Kare Sab Koi Sri Guru Granth Sahib (929) Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj was totally possessed by Guru consciousness. He was in a state of perpetual homage at the lotus feet of His most beloved Lord Sri Guru Nanak Sahib who was eternally dwelling in His soul and body and permeated every pore of His being. How could He for a moment forget His beloved Lord and turn His back towards Sri Guru Granth Sahib?.

A dead person consigned to flames could be called back in person by the Great Sage of Bhuchon. How some ignorant people, some disbelievers even doubt the samratha, capability, power of Jot Roop Har, Sri Guru Nanak Sahib
resident of Bhuchon, who had gone out, on return found that his wife had died and had been consigned to the flames by his relatives and villagers during his absence. He started serving the place and sweeping the floor where Mahan Babaji was putting up. After a few months, Babaji called him to ask what he wanted? The man started weeping and submitted to Babaji that his wife had died when he was away from the village. On his return he tried to trace the jewellery and money which was lying with her but could not find the same.
Merciful Babaji told him to go to a nearby spot that night, where She would be waiting for him and he could find out all the details from her personally. He went accordingly. He was surprised to see his wife sitting in person there waiting for him. On enquiring, she told him the exact place in the house where she had buried the jewellery and the money during her sickness.
A dead person consigned to flames could be called back in person by the Great Sage of Bhuchon. How some ignorant people, some disbelievers even doubt the samratha, capability, power of Jot Roop Har, Sri Guru Nanak Sahib to appear in person, to appear in flesh and blood to bless the aspirations of the devout, to bless the true saints with His Holy Presence and Vision and to accept their loving offerings in person.
They sing the holy hymns and also the sacred Vars of Bhai Gurdas Ji, highlighting the physical appearance of the Lord in person to the yearnings of Bhagat Namdev and Bhagat Dhanna but unfortunately doubt the competency of their own Supreme Lord Guru Nanak to do so.
The unmanifest had manifested Himself as Jagat Guru, Guru Nanak.
After playing His Divine Lila (Play), the Manifest again relapses into the Unmanifest. It does not mean that the Unmanifest loses power and competency to manifest again at any time and at any place in the same Divine form for the sake of His true Divine Lovers, devotees and Bhagats for ever.
2)
He was the Master and Creator of the past, present and future. He could recreate the dead in flesh and blood. He was awaiting 50 years in advance the loving Salami of His beloved son (Baba Narinder Singh Ji). He was the Master of Kaal, the Time.
s already stated, Mahan Babaji was totally indifferent to worldly requirements and comforts. It is interesting to note that He used to take milk once after a week or two and would take a piece of bread once in a year.
The Maharaja of Patiala who used to visit Bhuchon Kalan to pay his homage to Mahan Babaji got a palatial bungalow built there for Babaji's stay and offered precious clothes and other necessities for His comfort. Neither Babaji went inside the bungalow nor did He ever use the garments and other necessities. He was a born Prophet. He was born without any desire and remained totally detached from the world throughout His life.
Being a born Prophet He was the repository of all the Supreme and Miraculous Divine Powers from His birth. All the nine Nidhis and all the Siddhis and Riddhis stood with folded hands in His holy presence awaiting any blessed opportunity to serve Him. He was a Divine Monarch. Whatever He wished for the welfare of others happened instantaneously. He just looked at the sky to save the village and crops from devastating fire and the god of rain burst into heavy downpour instantaneously. A dead woman whose body had been consigned to flames reappeared in person to tell her husband where she had buried the jewellery and money in the house.
Baba Harnam Singh Ji Maharaj always kept His Holy face veiled, covered with a cloth. His was a most luminous body and a sunlike glow radiated on His face from His very childhood. He seldom revealed His true identity. He always tried to hide and conceal it. But no mortals could withstand the radiance and splendour of His personality.
So mighty and powerful was the divinity of this great Divine Master of Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj that people, startled and wonderstruck with His divine majesty, would fall prostrate at His Holy Feet

Baba Harnam Singh Ji was the highest spiritual Luminary, God has ever gifted to mankind.
nce Baba Harnam Singh Ji Maharaj, who always used to sit in a dark room, asked a Sewak whether it was day or night? The sewak out of curiosity asked Him the reasons for this query. Baba ji replied, “Just as in the sun there is no darkness, for those established in the luminous paramjot, brilliance of thousands of such moons and suns fades away into insignificance. This brilliance and light of the physical sun is only a borrowed fraction of the eternal source of light. In this Luminousity Eternal the sages always remain established. Thousands of such luminous suns and moons can not dispel the darkness of ignorance, and the delusion of ‘maya’, which a mere glance of a perfect saint could do and achieve”. Baba Harnam Singh Ji was the highest spiritual Luminary, God has ever gifted to mankind.
2) Most compassionate Baba Ji just looked at the sky. The sky thundered with a frightening sound of lightning and instantly followed a ferocious heavy downpour......God of Rain and God of Fire rolled at the holy feet of Baba Harnam Singh Ji Maharaj in total submissiveness.
nce Baba Harnam Singh Sahib was sitting in meditation under a tree, some distance to the North of a village called Siriewale. He used to keep his face covered. Some young boys came that side and sat near Him. They requested Him to uncover His face. They also questioned Him as to why He was keeping His face covered. On their insistence, Baba Ji politely told them that the time was not yet ripe to uncover his face, because everything dry that came under His gaze would catch fire. Not realising, the implication of this remark, a couple of boys removed the cloth covering Baba Ji's face. No sooner was this done, than the whole village, and all the the dry crops stacked in it instantly caught fire. The boys ran helter skelter in panic as did the villagers who knew not the cause of such a devastating fire. When errant boys told the elders the strange tale, they came running to Baba Ji and falling prostrate at His holy feet, begged for forgiveness. Most compassionate Baba Ji just looked at the sky. The sky thundered with a frightening sound of lightning and instantly followed a ferocious heavy downpour. Now the villagers ran to the village to salvage their belongings from heavy rain. Later when they went back to thank Baba Ji and to pay their homage to him, they found the place deserted. Baba Ji was no more there. He had already left. It was many years later that one of the villagers came to Bhuchon and recognised Baba Ji. Such was the intensity of the divine glow on His holy face. God of Rain and God of Fire rolled at the holy feet of Baba Harnam Singh Ji Maharaj in total submissiveness. Such was the Glory of the powerful sage of Bhuchon Kalan.
3) BabaJi's marvellous word or glance could transport one into the wonderous state of Nam Ras, Atam Ras where body consciousness was non-existent. The Great Master could bestow and grant such rare and highest ecstasy and bliss with a mere touch or a glance.
aba Ji once appeared outside village Jandawale and sat under a dry pipal tree. It was the month of June. An old man named Mala Singh used to pass by that side daily. He once requested BabaJi to accept some service from him and on being allowed started bringing milk once a day. The country-side was sandy, and it being the month of June, was scorchingly hot during day time. Mala Singh noticed that Baba Ji continuously sat at one place all the time, and had not moved since the time He had come there. He could not help but ask BabaJi as to how could He bear all that burning heat sitting as He was without any shade. Babaji replied:
"Mala Singh, sadha garmi sardi naal koi sambandh nahin, sadha es shareer naal vee koi sambandh nahin."
A perfect and true sage is totally detached from body, being permanently established in Atam Ras, Har Ras. He is totally free from the opposites like heat and cold, pain and pleasure and so on. And Baba Harnam Singh Ji Maharaj was God in the garb of a sage.
Simple old man could not understand the mystic implication. Gracious Babaji asked him to come the next morning. He came accordingly. Babaji asked him to repeat the Holy Name of Waheguru and sit at a distance of a few yards, and advised him to come only when called. Accordingly, Mala Singh sat reciting the Holy Name.
Babaji called him by name and awakened him from the blissful samadhi. He realised it was late evening.
Immersed deeply in the Nectar of Nam Ras, the sikh blessed by Baba Harnam Singh Ji Maharaj became completely oblivious to burning heat of the hottest season and discomfort arising therefrom, for the whole of the day.
BabaJi's marvellous word or glance could transport one into the wonderous state of Nam Ras, Atam Ras where body consciousness was non-existent. The Great Master could bestow and grant such rare and highest ecstasy and bliss with a mere touch or a glance. The effect used to be instantaneous. Numerous were such blessed souls who experienced this bliss from His benevolent and infinite compassion.
A mere word or touch by Him was so powerful and magnetic as to awaken God-consciousness within and insulate the soul from body-consciousness.
4) So unique, mysterious and miraculous was the relationship between the holy disciple and the divine Satguru. Such wonderful is the divine reciprocation of prema, of divine love.
nce Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj was journeying bare-footed through a dense jungle with His feet profusely bleeding with instuck thorns. He wanted to visit His beloved Master after a year's long tapasaya and was heading towards the railway station, a long distance away. A camel rider who happened to cross His way, stopped, got down and offered the camel to Baba Ji. He made Baba Ji sit comfortably on the camel and then proceeded towards the railway station. While thus walking, the man removed the thorns from Baba Ji's bleeding feet one by one. He, at the railway station, purchased a ticket and made Baba Ji comfortable in the train. When Baba Ji reached the holy presence of Baba Harnam Singh Ji Maharaj and was in the process of paying His homage, Baba Harnam Singh Ji Maharaj applied the dust of the holy feet of Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj on His forehead. Baba Ji, thus bewildered, started crying. On this, Baba Harnam Singh Ji Maharaj smiled and asked Him why He did not cry when He removed the thorns from His feet on the way to railway station. So unique, mysterious and miraculous was the relationship between the holy disciple and the divine Satguru. Such wonderful is the divine reciprocation of prema, of divine love. Little did anyone know then that this towering Divinity spending all his time in deep and long meditation in complete solitude, was to become known to the world as the great spiritual preceptor and beloved Master of Mahan Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj.

Blessed indeed are we who have been favoured with the vision of the Glory of God in this holy infant. Blessed are the parents who have given birth to this holy child, blessed is the village, the town, the city nay the whole world where this Glory of God will physically stay and stride upon.
rom his very birth, this holy child was never seen weeping or laughing. He had never cried for milk, had never demanded or asked for anything to eat because he was far above the human instinct of hunger and thirst. He was completely indifferent to heat and cold. He was totally free from delight and anger. He had no desire and was totally free from all worldly attachments. He was always established in some deep meditation and his face glowed like a sun. He was always in the highest state of bliss. His holy face radiated with a unique flood of light. Once a dark room was aglow with that dazzling light (parkash) of his divine face, where he was sitting in meditation for a few days in his youth.
Unaffected by hunger or thirst, pain or pleasure, heat or cold, he was totally free of any want or desire even as a child. He never felt agitated and remained totally unruffled under all conditions. His glowing face emitted the light and fragrance of Bliss-Eternal in which he himself was permanently established.
Two incidents deserve special mention which depict the majestic glory of God in the Divine infant. A sage, who noticed the infant sitting on a cot from the door of the house was wonderstruck by the majestic glory of God on Babaji's face and he came in and sat on the floor towards the holy feet of the infant divinity.
A second saint, who was of the udasi cult, and had set up a camp on the outskirts of the village with a large number of his followers. The whole village used to attend the congregation in the evening and used to benefit from the Mahatma's holy discourses. Once the lucky father of the holy infant carried the child in his lap to attend the Satsang of the holy sage and was sitting quite near him. As soon as the Mahatma set eyes on the child, he was bewildered and wonderstruck, and could not take his eyes off him. Both the holy men, in these two incidents had their eyes riveted at the radiant face of the holy child and with awe and veneration thus spoke of the rare divine glow which they had seen first time in their long lives.
"Blessed indeed are we who have been favoured with the vision of the Glory of God in this holy infant. Blessed are the parents who have given birth to this holy child, blessed is the village, the town, the city nay the whole world where this Glory of God will physically stay and stride upon".
Both the saints had seen the grandeur and glory of God on the child's face. Having beheld it and having perceived radiance and the power and glory of God, they both offered their homage to the eternal glory, shining like a rising sun on the face and congratulated the parents from the depth of their hearts.
nce Baba Harnam Singh Ji Maharaj chanced to appear at Una Sahib. Bedi Sahib learnt from a disciple that a saint with a chadar around him and with his face covered with a cloth, was sitting at some distance away from there. Bedi Sahib understood and brought meals along with a couple of disciples and offered to construct a suitable Kutia there for Babaji's sojourn and meditation. He further offered couple of attendants (sewaks) to remain in His service. Babaji very politely declined and enquired about some suitable lonely place far away from habitation and ideal for long and uninterrupted meditation. Bedi Sahib mentioned that such a place was there but a long distance away from there. He explained the entire route. Babaji set out and reached the desired spot after walking for a number of days. There were hills all around and a stream flowed by. Babaji sat under a tree with thick growth on the bank of the flowing stream.
It was here that the Lord of Tapasya sat in meditation for a whole year, arose and then again sat in meditation for two years, again opened His blissful Samadhi and again went into Samadhi for another two years. It was after an uninterrupted long spell of five years meditation and Samadhi at a stretch that Divine Lord of Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj left this place.
Baba Harnam Singh Ji Maharaj was an incarnation of 'Tap' and the flaming glow of that 'Tap' and 'Noor' on His face was unbearable for earthly beings. Even powerful sages and faqirs could not withstand this glow.
Baba Harnam Singh Ji Maharaj was a born spiritual Monarch. From His very childhood He was in a perpetually blissful Samadhi. In that state of perpetual Divine Intoxication, nothing perturbed Him neither intense heat nor intense cold, nor the want of food, comfort and pleasure nor pain. He was far above the opposite dualities of this materialistic world. Lust, greed, pride, anger dared not touch Him.

One day as he saw the crowds gathering, Jesus went up on the mountainside and sat down. His disciples gathered around him, 2 and he began to teach them.
The Beatitudes 3 "God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, [3] for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. 4 God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted. 5 God blesses those who are humble, for they will inherit the whole earth. 6 God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, [6] for they will be satisfied. 7 God blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 8 God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God. 9 God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God. 10 God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
11 "God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you [11] and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers. 12 Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way.
Teaching about Salt and Light 13 "You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. 14 "You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. 15 No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
Teaching about the Law 17 "Don't misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose. 18 "I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God's law will disappear until its purpose is achieved." 19 So if you ignore the least commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God's laws and teaches them will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. 20 "But I warn you—unless your righteousness is better than the righteousness of the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven!
Teaching about Anger 21 "You have heard that our ancestors were told, `You must not murder. If you commit murder, you are subject to judgment.' [21] 22 But I say, if you are even angry with someone, [22] you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, [22] you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, [22] you are in danger of the fires of hell. [22] 23 "So if you are presenting a sacrifice* at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, 24 leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God. 25 "When you are on the way to court with your adversary, settle your differences quickly. Otherwise, your accuser may hand you over to the judge, who will hand you over to an officer, and you will be thrown into prison. 26 And if that happens, you surely won't be free again until you have paid the last penny. [26]
Teaching about Adultery 27 "You have heard the commandment that says, `You must not commit adultery.' [27] 28 But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 So if your eye—even your good eye [29] —causes you to lust, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30 And if your hand—even your stronger hand [30] —causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.
Teaching about Divorce 31 "You have heard the law that says, `A man can divorce his wife by merely giving her a written notice of divorce.' [31] 32 But I say that a man who divorces his wife, unless she has been unfaithful, causes her to commit adultery. And anyone who marries a divorced woman also commits adultery.
Teaching about Vows 33 "You have also heard that our ancestors were told, `You must not break your vows; you must carry out the vows you make to the LORD.' [33] 34 But I say, do not make any vows! Do not say, `By heaven!' because heaven is God's throne. 35 And do not say, `By the earth!' because the earth is his footstool. And do not say, `By Jerusalem!' for Jerusalem is the city of the great King. 36 Do not even say, `By my head!' for you can't turn one hair white or black. 37 Just say a simple, `Yes, I will,' or `No, I won't.' Anything beyond this is from the evil one.
Teaching about Revenge 38 "You have heard the law that says the punishment must match the injury: `An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.' [38] 39 But I say, do not resist an evil person! If someone slaps you on the right cheek, offer the other cheek also. 40 If you are sued in court and your shirt is taken from you, give your coat, too. 41 If a soldier demands that you carry his gear for a mile, [41] carry it two miles. 42 Give to those who ask, and don't turn away from those who want to borrow.
Teaching about Love for Enemies 43 "You have heard the law that says, `Love your neighbor' [43] and hate your enemy. 44 But I say, love your enemies! [44] Pray for those who persecute you! 45 In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. 46 If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. 47 If you are kind only to your friends, [47] how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that. 48 But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Dharam is our universal term for God’s Divine Laws, which govern and empower everything from human behavior and worship to the movements of the universe. It is beyond dogma and sects. Sectarian religions have been made by humans, not by the Prophets. The truly spiritual person is above all these small paths. God is nearer, than your hands and feet, sitting in your heart, bringing more and more light inside you. God does not need any more praise from us; the whole universe is already praising God. God is so famous that He is concealing Himself. But even though we can add nothing to God's greatness by our praise, we must ever remember God through love, faith and service. Dharam is not costly temples. It is not the light of a single Prophet; God's Messengers continually come into the world to show people the way. It is not a particular concept of God, for nothing is outside of God. Religion must never be used to further our own purposes or power. Religion is God's Love. Jesus told his disciples, "Just as I share this love freely with you, share that love freely with everyone. Never think to profit from it. You should have no demands, just as I make no demands of you." Dharam is not theory; it is practical application. Whenever dharam has spread in the world, it has given practical proof of its truth. The Prophets have not just described trees and flowers; they have produced them and shown their beauty to the people. People have very little faith in religion because today there is only talk. For spiritual teachers as well as devotees, putting the teachings into practice requires a life of meditation and love for the Creator. Each religion has two aspects: vision and history. Vision is spiritual. It is born of the inner light, of the Spirit. The all-pervading Light of God is seen through the inner light of gyan in a person, and the words born out of that Light are visionary revelations. Those words can only be understood when we meditate and search within ourselves for God's Light, the source of that vision. Dharam has no connection with that aspect of a religion that comes from those who just want to prove their own intelligence, and not from the Prophets. History also includes rituals and restrictions on behavior that develop after the visionary basis of the religion. The Prophet Mohammad, in his greatness and his humility said, "If sometimes you do not follow the Hadith, (reports of what the Prophet Mohammad said, did, or approved), God will forgive you. But if you do not follow what is revealed in the Quran, God will not pardon you." Most of what we call religion today is simply management, not vision. It is based on selfish motives. Where there is selfishness, there is no dharam. It is our limited thinking that has created the forts and slogans of religions. If you approach the Prophet Mohammad said, did, or approved), God will forgive you. But if you do not follow what is revealed in the Quran, God will not pardon you." Most of what we call religion today is simply management, not vision. It is based on selfish motives. Where there is selfishness, there is no dharam. It is our limited thinking that has created the forts and slogans of religions. If you approach the scriptures of all religions from a state of inner wisdom, you will find many similarities among them. What is the essence of religion? Truthfulness, love, faith in God, and service to everyone. We should transcend these sectarian barriers, think of each other as fellow human beings, and regard all Prophets as our Fathers. They all came to love us. - baba virsa singh ji , gobind sadan , dehli.

lord Jesus gave his disciples an example in this respect : ' and it came to pass , as he (jesus) was praying ..... tht one of his disciples said to him , "lord teach us pray" (luke 11.1). the first thing is note to be tht jesus didn't just say to his disciples ' do as i say" - he alwys set an the example as we note from verses in holy bible .
if we think about carefully , the 'lord's prayer ' in an act of worship , firstly it emphasises the supremacy of god our creator: ' hallowed be ur name ' secondly it reminds us og god's plan for the world nd need to pray 'ur kingdom come' thirdly it enjoins on us the recognition tht our lives depend on god ' give us day by day our daily bread.'
lastly it contains a prayer for forgiveness 'forgive our sins.' so its imp thing for all to honor the great god nd seek prayer for help -its a communication process which has great benefits.and god will respond to the prayer offered in sincerity .
