Need for Speed : Shift

Need for Speed: Shift is the 13th installment of the long-running racing video game

franchise Need for Speed; published by Electronic Arts. It was announced in December

2008 as part of a three-game announcement that includes Need for Speed: Nitro and

Need for Speed: World Online. Shift was developed by Slightly Mad Studios in

conjunction with EA Black Box and published for Electronic Arts. In the new

franchising model for the series adopted by EA, Shift takes its place focusing on

simulation racing rather than the arcade racing of previous titles in the series.

According to an interview from Shift's producer, Geever, the game has been in

development for two years. He also mentioned that the game will feature a new

"Driver experience". G-force will play an important role in the game, as it will

affect both the player and the AI. The in-car view will also return, making its

first appearance in a Need for Speed game since Porsche Unleashed. The in-car view

will be highly detailed, and it will be possible to see the driver changing gears

and moving his head to get a better view of the mirror. The crashes will affect the

players visuals. While crashing, there will be a temporary blur on screen. The sound

aspect will have detailed car crash sound, as well as a sharp gasp of breath from

the driver before a collision

Can you see the bike?

The Honda crotch rocket rider was traveling at approximately  85 mph. The VW driver was talking on a cell

phone when she  pulled out from a side street, apparently not seeing the motorcycle. The riders reaction time

was not sufficient enough to avoid this accident. The car had two passengers
and the bike rider was found INSIDE the car with them. The Volkswagen actually flipped over from the force of

impact and landed 20 feet from where the collision took place.
All three involved (two in the car and the bike rider) were killed instantly. This graphic demonstration was

placed at the Motorcycle Fair by the Police and Road Safety Department.

Pass this on to car drivers or soon to be new drivers, or new motorcycle owners AND ESPECIALLY EVERYONE YOU

KNOW WHO HAS A CELL PHONE!!!!!

A picture is worth a thousand words.

Wake up people, Stop talking on Cell phones and Texting while trying to drive. Put your Cell phone in the

back seat !!!

Audi A3 Clubsport Concept

A3 Clubsport Concept, a rehash of the not-for-U.S. A3 three-door that would drive any Eurotuner green, or

perhaps red, with envy.

First up is the business end. Under the hood is a clean, Euro 5-compliant 2.0L four-cylinder turbodiesel

pumping out 224 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque, which propels the hatch to 62 mph in 6.6 seconds on to a top

speed of 149 mph. The gearbox is a six-speed manual, and power is sent to all four wheels via Audi's famous

quattro all-wheel-drive system.

Subaru Concept

Subaru has condensed its DNA, developed over many years around the Subaru’s core technology of “Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD)” and “Horizontally-Opposed Boxer Engine”, into the integration of a luxurious and high-quality cabin atmosphere and an eye-catching sculpted body. The concept car features Subaru’s latest evolutions in handling agility, riding comfort and superior safety performance. It proposes Subaru’s vision of a future grand touring car that excels in environmental friendliness thanks to Subaru’s unique hybrid system.

Next-generation power unit system
2.0-liter Horizontally-Opposed direct fuel-injection turbo gasoline engine
The Horizontally-Opposed turbo gasoline engine, with a reputation for powerful acceleration, is combined with a direct fuel-injection system for improvements in fuel efficiency and reduced emissions, and improved torque and response in practical range. This evolution in Subaru turbo technology excels in both environmental friendliness and engine performance.

Lineartronic (CVT)
Lineartronic, Subaru’s new generation automatic transmission, achieves further improvements in both fuel efficiency and driving performance by reinforcing parts for use with the high-power output of a turbo engine.

Hybrid system
To further enhance the appeal of the Symmetrical AWD system, this unique hybrid two-motor system features a power/drive motor in the front and a drive motor in the rear.

At start-up and extremely low speeds when fuel efficiency is low, such as when driving the car into a garage, the rear motor is used primarily to allow driving without utilizing the power of the engine.

During normal driving, the front engine is primarily used. The direct fuel-injection turbo gasoline mated with the Symmetrical AWD offers a whole new, Subaru driving experience.

During acceleration, the rear motor assists the driving power of the engine to achieve advanced driving performance.

Further, when accelerating uphill, the front motor, which is normally used as a power generator, assists to drive the front axle for improved performance.

The implementation of a non-idling function that stops the engine when the car comes to a halt reduces unnecessary fuel consumption.

The use of a high-performance lithium battery is based on experience and know-how achieved with the Subaru Plug-in STELLA electric vehicle, launched this summer. This includes the use of a precise energy management system and regenerative brake controls, for improvements in excellent fuel efficiency.

Jokes Majaak / Testing the sense !!!
« on: October 27, 2009, 11:10:38 PM »
A Teacher was doing a study testing the senses  (taste) of first graders using a bowl of lifesavers. She gave each child
A color, then waited for the response.

The children began to  say:

Red.....................Cherry

Yellow................Lemon

Green...................Lime

Orange................Orange

Finally the teacher gave them all HONEY flavored lifesavers.
After  eating them, none of the children could identify the  taste. 'Well,' she said, 'I will give you all a clue. It's what your
mother may sometimes call your father.'

One little girl looked up in horror, spat her lifesaver out and yelled, 'Oh, my God, they're "a*s holes" !

Veritas RS III

Developed by Vermot AG in Grafschaft-Gelsdorf, Germany, the Veritas III is a production version of a concept

The Veritas RS III Roadster super sports car, which has been presented to the public as a prototype over the

past year and which immediately won the public award of "Best Super Car 2009" at London's Salon Privé

]

The 4.68 metre long and 2.02 metre wide monster, which has already made a splash in Monte Carlo, in Spa, and

on the "ring" is powered by a 5.0 litre V10 BMW engine with 7-speed SMG transmission or - optionally - with

manual 6- speed transmission. With an engine speed of 7,500 rpm and a power-weight ratio of 2.9 kg/kW, the RS

III achieves a top performance of 373 kW (507 hp) and thus a top speed of 347 km/h.

The complete bodywork comprises an ultra-light carbon racing skin and is produced in a Formula I forge. In

addition to the 4-point H-type seatbelts, a tube frame developed by the Vermot AG engineers guarantees

occupants the highest level of passive safety on their modified Recaro full bucket seats. A new braking

system from Brabham Racing provides for deceleration: six 380 mm pistons at the front and four 355 mm pistons

at the back forcefully slow the entire weight before the ceramic disk brakes abruptly bring the wheels to a

standstill - until the next kick start.

How do these people survive?

ONE
Recently, when I went to McDonald's I saw on the menu that you could have an order of 6, 9 or 12 Chicken McNuggets.
I asked for a half dozen nuggets.
'We don't have half dozen nuggets,' said the teenager at the counter.
'You don't?' I replied.

'We only have six, nine, or twelve,' was the reply.
'So I can't order half dozen nuggets, but I can order six?'
'That's right.'
So I shook my head and ordered six McNuggets.
(Unbelievable but sadly true...)

TWO

I was checking out at the local Woolworths with just a few items and the lady behind me put her things on the belt close to mine. I picked up one of those 'dividers' that they keep by the cash register and placed it between our things so they wouldn't get mixed.
After the girl had scanned all of my items, she picked up the 'divider', looking it all over for the bar code so she could scan it.
Not finding the bar code, she said to me, 'Do you know how much this is?'
I said to her 'I've changed my mind; I don't think I'll buy that today.'
She said 'OK,' and I paid her for the things and left.
She had no clue to what had just happened.

THREE
A woman at  work was seen putting a credit card into her  floppy drive and pulling it out very  quickly.
When I inquired as to what she was doing, she said she was shopping on the Internet and they kept asking for a credit card number, so she was using the ATM 'thingy.'
(keep shuddering!!)

FOUR
I recently  saw a distraught young lady weeping beside her  car. 'Do you need some help?' I asked.
She replied, 'I knew I should have replaced the battery to this remote door unlocker. Now I can't get into my car. Do you think they (pointing to a distant convenience store) would have a battery to fit this?'
'Hmmm, I don't know. Do you have an alarm, too?' I asked.
'No, just this remote thingy,' she answered, handing it and the car keys to me.  As I took the key and manually unlocked the door, I replied, 'Why don't you drive over there and check about the batteries. It's a long walk....'
PLEASE just lay down before you hurt yourself!!!

FIVE
Several years  ago, we had an Intern who was none too swift. One day she was typing and turned to a secretary and said, 'I'm almost out of typing paper. What do I do?' 'Just use paper from the photocopier', the secretary told her. With that, the intern took her last remaining blank piece of paper, put it on the photocopier and proceeded to make five 'blank' copies.
Brunette, by the way!!

SIX
A mother  calls 911 very worried asking the dispatcher if  she needs to take her kid to the emergency room,  the kid had eaten ants.

The dispatcher tells her to give the kid some Benadryl and he should be fine, the mother says, 'I just gave him some ant killer......'
Dispatcher: 'Rush him in to emergency!'

Life is tough. It's even tougher if you're stupid!!!!

Cadillac Cien

The Cien's low, sleek appearance, inspired by the latest F-22 Stealth fighter aircraft, has produced a

different look and proportion for Cadillac. It further demonstrates the reach of the brand's identity

Cadillac Cien's 7.5-liter, V12 powerplant, which is visible through a clear window in the decklid, is a new

concept engine from GM Powertrain named the Northstar XV12. The all-aluminum, dual overhead cam (DOHC)

four-valve V12 engine generates 750 horsepower and 450 lb.-ft. of torque, yet it meets the packaging

requirements and fuel economy standards of a V8.

The Northstar XV12 concept engine features several technological advancements over today's V8 engines,

including: GM's Displacement on Demand technology, which allows the engine to run seamlessly on six cylinders

at times to maximize fuel savings; direct injection gasoline combustion system for increased engine power,

improved fuel economy and reduced emissions; and a combined starter generator.

The Cien is fitted with a semi-automatic transmission, controlled by Formula 1-inspired column-mounted

electronic paddles.
