10 Most Poisonous Creatures in the World

1. Box Jellyfish

Jelly box can be found in the waters around Asia and Australia.

2. King Cobra

The King Cobra (Ophiophagus hannah) is the worlds longest venomous snake - growing up to 5.6 m (18.5 ft) in length. Ophiophagus, literally means snake-eater as it eats other snakes. One single bite of this deadly snake can easily kill a human. This snake is even capable of killing a full-grown Asian Elephant within 3 hours if the larger animal is bitten in a vulnerable area such as the trunk.

Its venom is not as toxic as other venomous snakes, but King Cobra is capable of injecting 5 times more venom than black mamba and can result in mortality up to 5 times faster than that of the black mamba. It is quite widespread, ranging across South and South-east Asia, living in dense highland forests.

3. Marbled Cone Snail

This little beautiful looking Marbled Cone snail can be as deadly as any other animal on this list. One drop of its venom is so powerful that it can kill more than 20 humans. If you ever happen to be in warm salt water environment (where these snails are often found) and see it, dont even think of picking it up. Of course, the true purpose of its venom is to catch its prey.

Symptoms of a cone snail sting can start immediately or can be delayed in onset for days.. It results in intense pain, swelling, numbness and tingling. Severe cases involve muscle paralysis, vision changes and breathing failure. There is no antivenom. However, only about 30 human deaths have been recorded from cone snail envenomation.

4. Blue-Ringed Octopus

The Blue-Ringed Octopus is very small, only the size of a golf ball, but its venom is so powerful that can kill a human. Actually it carries enough poison to kill 26 adult humans within minutes, and there is no antidote. They are currently recognized as one of the worlds most venomous animals.

Its painless bite may seem harmless, but the deadly neurotoxins begin working immediately resulting in muscular weakness, numbness, followed by a cessation and breathing and ultimately death.

They can be found in tide pools in the Pacific Ocean, from Japan to Australia.

5. Death Stalker Scorpion

Fortunately, while a sting from this scorpion is extremely painful, it would be unlikely to kill a healthy, adult human. Young children, the old, or infirm (with a heart condition) are at the biggest risk.
Death stalker scorpions are spread in North Africa and Middle East.

6. Stonefish

Maybe Stonefish would never win a beauty contest, but it would definitely win the top prize for being The World Most Venomous Fish. Its venom causes such a severe pain that the victims of its sting want the affected limb to be amputated. It is described as the worst pain known to man. It is accompanied with possible shock, paralysis, and tissue death. If not given medical attention within a couple of hours It can be fatal to humans.

Stonefish stores its toxins in gruesome-looking spines that are designed to hurt would-be predators.

Stonefish mostly live above the tropic of Capricorn, often found in the shallow tropical marine waters of the Pacific and Indian oceans, ranging from the Red Sea to the Queensland Great Barrier Reef.

7. The Brazilian wandering spider

The Brazilian Wandering Spider (Phoneutria) or banana spider appears in the Guinness Book of World Records 2007 for the most venomous spider and is the spider responsible for most human deaths.
This spider is believed to have the most potent neurotoxic venom of any living spider. Only 0.006mg (0.00000021oz) is sufficient to kill a mouse. They are also so dangerous because of their wandering nature.. They often hide during daytime in highly populated areas inside houses, clothes, boots, and cars.
Its venomous bite causes not only intense pain, the venom of the spider can also cause priapism - uncomfortable erections lasting for many hours that lead to impotence.

8. Inland Taipan

The prize for The Worlds Most Venomous Snake goes to the Inland Taipan of Australia. Just a single bite from this snake contains enough venom to kill 100 human adults or an army of 250,000 mice. Its venom is at least 200 - 400 times more toxic than a common cobra. The Inland Taiwans extremely neurotoxic venom can kill an adult human in as little as 45 minutes. Fortunately this snake is very shy and there have been no documented human fatalities (all known bites were treated with antivenin).

9. Poison Dart Frog

If you ever happen to be running through the rain forests somewhere in Central or South America, do not ever pick up beautiful and colorful frogs - it can be the Poison Dart Frog.. This frog is probably the most poisonous animal on earth. The 2 inch long (5cm) golden poison dart frog has enough venom to kill 10 adult humans or 20,000 mice. Only 2 micrograms of this lethal toxin (the amount that fits on the head of a pin) is capable of killing a human or other large mammal. They are called dart frogs because indigenous Amerindians use of their toxic secretions to poison the tips of their blow-darts.. Poison dart frogs keep their poison in their skins and will sicken or kill anybody who touches or eats it.

10. Puffer Fish

Puffer Fish are the second most poisonous vertebrate on earth (the first one is golden dart Frog). The meat of some species is a delicacy in both Japan (as fugu) and Korea (as bok-uh) but the problem is that the skin and certain organs of many puffer fish are very poisonous to humans.
This puffy fish produce rapid and violent death..Puffers poisoning causes deadening of the tongue and lips, dizziness, vomiting, rapid heart rate, difficulty breathing, and muscle paralysis.. Victims die from suffocation as diaphragm muscles are paralyzed. Most of the victims die after four to 24 hours. There is no known antidote, Most deaths from fugu happen when untrained people catch and prepare the fish.
Statistics show that there were 20 to 44 incidents of fugu poisoning per year between 1996 and 2006 in all of Japan and up to six incidents per year led to death. Since Fugus poison can cause near instantaneous death, only licensed chefs are allowed to prepare it.

Pamukkale, A complex of terraced pools in South turkey.

Even if we know that earthquakes are horrible and their consequences are always bad for humans, we have to admit that in this case, earthquakes brought us something useful. Here you can see amazing photos of beautiful terraced pools in Pamukkale, Turkey which were created as a consequence of earthquake.

Pamukkale got its name from Turkish words ‘pamuk’ which means cotton and ‘kale’ which means castle. Probably they named this location ‘Cotton castle’ because of intensive white color of its carbonate rocks.

This amazing natural site is located in Denizli Province, at the south-west of Turkey. This place is known amongst tourists for a very long time. There are some historical records which tells us that tourists were bathing in those natural pools even thousand years ago.

Bajaj car to be world's cheapest

By fe Bureau

Bajaj's ultra-low cost car being manufactured jointly with Renault and Nissan promises to give hot chase to the Tata Nano. On Monday, Rajiv Bajaj (BAJAJAUTO.NS : 2101.05 0), MD, Bajaj Auto confirmed the $2,500 (Rs 1.1 lakh) price tag for the car, announced first by Renault chairman  CEO Carlos Ghosn at the company's shareholders' meet late last week. The Renault announcement comes a few days after it pulled out of its loss-making Logan venture with Mahindra & Mahindra.
The Bajaj car will be cheaper than the Nano, which comes at Rs 1.23 lakh-1.72 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi ). After the launch of Tata Nano, the race for the No.2 position in the ultra-low cost car segment is under way in India , which as emerged as the Mecca of this segment. However, other automakers' plans to enter this segment are still on the drawing board.
At Renault meeting, Ghosn said: "In India , Renault and Nissan are developing an ultra-low-cost vehicle with the Bajaj group, benefiting from its expertise in light vehicles and knowledge of the Indian market." He reiterated the affordability of the vehicle for the Indian market by citing the targeted low price tag.

"We are combining our strengths with Nissan, notably in India , Russia , Brazil and Mexico ," Ghosn said. "The alliance product strategy has been finalised in India and Russia , and Renault and Nissan will pool their production capacities and platforms there to fully deliver on these developments," he added.

The car was initially scheduled to hit the market this year, but has been postponed to 2012. Bajaj Auto displayed the prototype of the small car at the 2008 Auto Expo. However, the three partners were stuck at various levels of branding and engineering the car till last year. According to industry observers, the project also got delayed as partners were stuck on pricing issues as well. While Renault wanted a low-cost car, Bajaj was keen on a car that would sport high mileage and low maintenance.

It was during his India visit that Ghosn finally announced the finalisation of the project. "As per the agreement, the design, engineering, sourcing and manufacturing will be handled by Bajaj Auto, while marketing and selling will be (done) by Renault-Nissan Alliance," he said. But he had declined to comment on the pricing of the car.

Officials from the alliance have said the car will be smaller than Maruti Suzuki's Alto, which is the biggest selling model in India
.
In March, Collin Dodge, executive vice-president, Nissan Motor had said: "It is over two years that Bajaj is trying to produce the car. The physics of it is very difficult. We have not yet found a solution as there are a lot of engineering solutions required." Nissan is also in talks with Hinduja group company Ashok Leyland  to develop a small car for the global market that could be priced around $4,500-5,000.

There was a time when Mercedes didn’t consider it necessary to have an E-class cabriolet. Although this model made its debut – and its reputation – based on

the W124 E-class, the German manufacturer decided to replace that model with a slightly smaller, C-class-based CLK cabrio.

Eureka Tower,Skydeck 88

Eureka Tower is a 300-metre (984 ft) skyscraper located in the Southbank precinct of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Construction began in August 2002 and the exterior completed on 1 June 2006. The plaza was finished in June 2006 and the building was officially opened on 11 October 2006. The project was designed by Melbourne architectural firm Fender Katsalidis Architects and was built by Grocon (Grollo Australia). The developer of the tower was Eureka Tower Pty Ltd, a joint venture consisting of Daniel Grollo (Grocon), investor Tab Fried and one of the Tower's architects Nonda Katsalidis. It was the world's tallest residential tower when measured to its highest floor, until surpassed by Ocean Heights and the HHHR Tower in Dubai. It is now the fourth-tallest, after Q1 located on Queensland's Gold Coast and the two Dubai skyscrapers

Name

Eureka Tower is named after the Eureka Stockade, a rebellion during the Victorian gold rush in 1854. This has been incorporated into the design, with the building's gold crown representing the gold rush and a red stripe representing the blood spilt during the revolt. The blue glass cladding that covers most of the building represents the blue background of the stockade's flag and the white lines also represent the eureka stockade flag.

Description

Nothing you have ever experienced will prepare you for the awe inspiring views from the highest viewing platform in the Southern Hemisphere – Melbourne’s iconic Eureka Tower. Two dedicated lifts propel visitors to Level 88 in under 40 seconds. Only Skydeck 88 can give you the world’s only “Edge Experience” – a switchable glass cube which slides out from the building – with you inside!

Cube

Apart from the unforgettable panorama, Skydeck 88 entertains the entire family with a host of activities and fascinating facts. Located beside the Yarra River in Southbank, Skydeck 88 will change the way you look at Melbourne and maybe the world.

Eureka Tower has 24 carat (100%) gold plated glass windows on the top 10 floors of the building. Installation of the gold glass was completed in March 2006. Apartment owners and tenants had taken up residence in the building between Ground Level and Level 80 as of July 2006.

Introducing Paris

Well informed, eloquent and oh-so-romantic, the ‘City of Light’ is a philosopher, a poet, a crooner. As it always has been, Paris is a million different things to a million different people.

Paris has all but exhausted the superlatives that can reasonably be applied to any city. Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower – at sunrise, at sunset, at night – have been described countless times, as have the Seine and the subtle (and not-so-subtle) differences between the Left and Right Banks. But what writers have been unable to capture is the grandness and even the magic.

Paris probably has more familiar landmarks than any other city in the world. As a result, first-time visitors often arrive in the French capital with all sorts of expectations: of grand vistas, of intellectuals discussing weighty matters in cafés, of romance along the Seine, of naughty nightclub revues, of rude people who won’t speak English. If you look hard enough, you can probably find all of those. But another approach is to set aside the preconceptions of Paris and to explore the city’s avenues and backstreets as if the tip of the Eiffel Tower or the spire of Notre Dame wasn’t about to pop into view at any moment.

Main attractions

Eiffel tower

One of the most famous landmarks in the entire world, no trip to Paris would be complete without a tour of the Eiffel Tower. Built back in 1889, the tower stands tall at over 1000 feet and offers spectacular views of the surrounding landscape from its observation decks. It also features two restaurants located on the first and second floors.

Arc de Triomphe

Originally commissioned by Napolean, the Arc de Triomphe has stood since 1836. Underneath the Arc is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier along with an eternal flame to mark those who have died in the two world wars.

Notre Dame de Paris

One of the most spectacular examples of Gothic architecture in Paris, the Notre Dame began construction back in 1163 and has been continually altered and restored ever since.

Le Louvre

The Louvre today was originally constructed as a fortress, before becoming a palace. It now serves as one of the finest museums in Europe, and contains some of the most famous pieces of art including da Vinci's Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo.

Versailles

Built by Louis XIV back in the 15th century, the Palace of Versailles served as home to French royalty until the French Revolution. While it has suffered with the passing years, it stands as a monument to the past glory of France and remains a world famous attraction.

AMD announces Opteron 4000 & 6000 – the twelve-core beasts

AMD has just unveiled their first twelve-core CPU chips. Whoa, impressive, isn’t it? Unfortunately, the new AMD Opteron 4000 and 6000 are CPUs with mainly server applications. They upgrade the current lineup of Opteron CPUs with more than twice the performance while keeping the same power consumption.

Intel were supposed to make a new CPU announcement this week and AMD claim their new 12-headed beasts will outperform whatever Intel throws at them.

Acer releases two new 3D-ready projectors

The two projectors – the Acer H5360 and the Acer X1261 – rely on NVIDIA’s 3D Vision technology that uses LCD shutter glasses to view 3D content.

The Acer H5260 has 720p resolution (1280 x 720, 16:9 aspect) and has an HDMI port as well as a standard VGA port. The MSRP is 699 US dollars (516 euro).

The Acer X1261 does XGA resolution only (1024 x 768, 4:3 aspect) and doesn’t have an HDMI port, instead it relies on composite, component or S video input (the H5260 has those too). The cost of this one is expected to be 579 US dollars (430 euro).

Both projectors work as usual for 2D content, but require either a compatible graphic card on the computer or a 3D-enabled Blu-ray player.

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T CPU hits the shelves

The high-end CPU market has been considered an Intel-exclusive territory as of late, but AMD are still not given up on it. The six-core AMD Phenom II X6 1055T CPU has hit the shelves exactly on schedule and is set to give the core 2010 processors a run for their money.

Priced at 223 US dollars at Amazon, the Phenom II X6 1055T seems like a pretty good deal. It has fared very well in benchmarks so far so it’s definitely worth a second look when building you next desktop computer.

And in case the 2.8 GHz speed isn’t good enough for you, consider signing up for a Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition, which runs at 3.2 GHz and can be boosted to 3.6 GHz in Turbo mode. It’s up for pre-order now and costs 325 US dollars.

zForce Pad

Nope, zForce Pad has nothing to do with Apple. It’s how Neonode call their latest product, a range of 5″ to 13″ touchscreen displays for a range of devices, including mobile internet devices, e-book readers, even mobile phones.

Neonode used to manufacture some of the tiniest touchscreen equipped mobile phones (I even can’t think of a more compact phone packing a touchscreen than the Neonode N2) but these days are now over and the company has a new survival plan: production of touchscreen displays.

Currently, there are lots of other companies out there manufacturing displays but Neonode believe to be some steps ahead. Their zForce Pad screens (measuring 5 to 13 inches in diameter) promised to be cheaper than the competition.

The zForce Pad displays are based on company’s patented zForce technology which is said to be better than the existing resistive and capacitive ones. zForce displays are fully transparent (there is no overlay needed) and support “high resolution pen input” as well as multi-touch input (read pinch zooming is warmly welcome, hooray).

Neonode’s displays also feature lower power consumption and come with an integrated ambient light sensor for automatic backlighting adjustment.

Neonode zForce Demo

The zForce Pad displays are meant to be used in iPad-like devices such as mobile internet devices as well as in digital photo frames and e-book readers (Neonode makes those as well). In mobile phones, too. Well, I can’t really imagine how a 5-inch display will fit in a “phone” (Dell’s 5-incher, the Dell Mini 5, seems big enough for a phone to me) but the iPhone seemed big at the beginning, too, and now it looks small next to the monstrous HTC HD2.

According to Neonode, the first products packing their zForce Pad touchscreens are already in the works and I’m more than eager to check those out.

HTC Desire Review

Introduction

If you've seen the Google Nexus One, you've seen the HTC Desire. End of story. We liked the Nexus One so be our guest, HTC Desire. But is it all that simple?

HTC are so good they build phones for the competition. HTC are so mean they have no issues competing with their own clients. And is it us or are the clients ultimately left with a rather disturbing question: do HTC work for us or do we work for them? Go ask Sony Ericsson and Google.

Key features:

-Quad-band GSM and dual-band 3G support

-7.2 Mbps HSDPA and 2 Mbps HSUPA
-3.7" 16M-color capacitive AMOLED touchscreen of WVGA resolution (480x 800 pixel)
-Android OS v2.1 with kinetic scrolling and pinch zooming
-Slim profile and great build quality
-Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 1 GHz processor
-576 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM
-5 MP autofocus camera with LED flash and geotagging
-WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) video recording @ 15fps
-Wi-Fi and GPS with A-GPS
-microSD slot, bundled with a 4GB card
-Accelerometer and proximity sensor
-Standard 3.5 mm audio jack
-Stereo FM radio with RDS
-microUSB port (charging) and stereo Bluetooth v2.1
-Optical trackpad which doubles as a button
-Smart dialing

Main disadvantages:

Disappointing video quality
Limited storage available to the user on the system partition (you are left with only 120 MB for installing apps)
No DivX and XviD video playback
No voice dialing
Non hot-swappable memory card

While the Google Nexus One is still confined to selected countries, its twin, the HTC Desire, is already in stores across the globe. And that may be great news for users on markets still ungraced by Google. It's the same phone - take away the Google logo, and add a few nice little things.

But it's not the differences that you'll care about. It's what both devices have in common that make them so attractive.

Of course we mean the large capacitive AMOLED touchscreen, the fresh Android OS v2.1 they run, the great performance on the 1GHz Snapdragon processor, and the 5-megapixel autofocus cameras they come with.

HTC Desire live shots

Eventually, you'll notice that these are actually two different phones. The Nexus One's trackball is gone for an optical trackpad. The controls on the Desire are actual buttons instead of the capacitive keys on the Google phone. On the homescreen, you'll see the latest Sense UI waving Hello.

Some platforms just don't seem to change for years. The Android OS is evolving at amazing speed. The Desire is one of the first devices to come with the latest version of the Android operating system but more importantly, being so powerful, it's among the few to reveal what ?clair is actually capable of.

Those lines sound as if the Desire is free from sin. It really isn't. There is always room for improvement - and that's especially true for Android handsets. But before we get to that, join us on the next page first to see what's hiding in that tiny retail box.
