HTC Wildfire Introduction Occasionally HTC takes a little break from high-end smartphones and dips its toes in the waters of the lower midrange. The HTC Wildfire is a down-sized, down-clocked and down-priced version of the HTC Desire. If Sony Ericsson can do it with the [url=http://X10 mini]X10 mini, then HTC have all the right in the world to make a Desire mini too. HTC Wildfire official photos But while the Desire was something that easily snatched everybody’s attention, the Wildfire is a bit more toned down despite its fire-some name. Key features -Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support -3G with 7.2 Mbps HSDPA -Android OS v2.1 (Éclair) with Sense UI -3.2" capacitive touchscreen of QVGA resolution -Multi-touch support -Qualcomm MSM 7225 528 MHz CPU, 384 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM -5 megapixel auto-focus camera with LED flash and touch focus -Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and GPS receiver -Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate -Turn-to-mute, lift-to-tone-down -Proximity sensor -Smart dialing -Standard miniUSB port for charging and data -Bluetooth with A2DP, file transfers -microSD card slot, a 2GB card in the box -Standard 3.5mm audio jack -Social network integration: Facebook, Twitter and Flickr through Friend Stream -Flash-enabled browser -Direct access to the official Android repository -Stereo FM radio with RDS Main disadvantages -Poor screen image quality, QVGA doesn’t do Android OS and the display size justice -No video-call camera or videocalling whatsoever -CIF@15fps video recording (352 x 288 pixels) is below par -No voice dialing -No DivX or XviD video support out of the box -No TV-out port The Wildfire is certainly the right phone for those who like to always stay in touch. The high-end connectivity is all there, along with solid social network integration and browsing. It seems the display and CPU are the only downgrades from the Desire. But that’s still a lot. Android phones with QVGA screens have failed to impress and the size of the Wildfire’s display gives no reason to be optimistic here.

Do You Know What This Symbol Means?
Do you recognize the symbol here? It lights up in your instrument panel and looks like a U-shaped pictograph with treads and an exclamation point in the middle.
Do you understand what it means now?
If you guessed a low tire-pressure warning, you are right. If you didn’t recognize the symbol, that’s also understandable because one out of three drivers do not, according to Schrader, a company that makes tire pressure monitoring systems.
The issue here seems to be that the public hasn’t been properly educated on the warning symbol, which is supposed to be “idiot proof” and understandable across a wide variety of cultures and languages. Yet 46% of drivers couldn’t figure out that the icon represents a tire and 14% thought the symbol represented another problem with the vehicle entirely, according to Schrader.
Properly inflated tires are vitally important to your safety. Low pressure will affect your braking, acceleration, stability, cornering and fuel economy. The government instituted the TPMS mandate after the Bridgestone/Firestone tire failures on the Ford Explorer in 2000, a controversy that was partly attributed to inadequately inflated tires.

Hummer H2H ( Hybrid) Overview The H2 is built under contract by AM General at a specially constructed plant in Mishawaka, Indiana, USA. Although it shares GM's GMT820 truck platform with the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon, those vehicles differ in many ways and are constructed in three other GM plants. The H2's final frame assembly is made up of 3 sections: The front uses a modified GM 2500-Series utility frame, the mid-section is all new and is completely boxed, and the rear section uses a modifed GM 1500-Series frame which is upgraded for the 8000 pound (3629 kg) gross vehicle weight. H2 sales were initially strong, but fell to 28,898 for 2004 and 23,213 for 2005. The H2 was nominated for the North American Truck of the Year award for 2003. Engine 2003–2005 6000 6.0 L (366 in³) V8 Capabilities With its high ground clearance, large tires, protective underbody plates, and low gearing, the H2 is capable of climbing over a 20-inch-high (0.4 m) step-up wall. A massive truck frame and wide track offer stability against overturning compared to some of the more common light truck SUVs, although objective tests have not been performed by the government or other outside parties due to its specialised vehicle class. Fuel economy For typical travel on improved roads, users report fuel economy of between 10 and 14 miles per gallon, which converts to between 14 and 17 L/100 km. Worst case urban driving is said to be in the range of 8 to 14 U.S. mpg (21 to 25 L/100 km). Although General Motors does not provide official H2 fuel economy ratings, most reviews have observed high single to low double-digit mileage, similar to the numbers above. Hummer H2H Hydrogen Concept It should be noted that other large vehicles also have poor fuel economy especially with optional larger engines including the Dodge Ram 1500 series pickup trucks equipped with either the 8.3L V10 (MSRP US$48,500) or the 4.7L V8 Flexible Fuel engine running E85 fuel (MSRP US$31,300). Both of these engines are rated at 9 U.S. mpg city and 11 U.S. mpg highway by the E.P.A. as one example.

Ford Shelby GR-1 The Ford Shelby GR-1 was a concept car that was created by the Ford Motor Company. It was first introduced at the 2005 North American International Auto Show. The GR-1 was created with the inspiration from the Shelby brand. The GR-1 uses an 6.4 L V10 engine and also has certain components from the Ford GT. The GR-1 is rated up to 605 hp and up to 501 ft·lbf. of torque. It uses a 6-speed manual transmission. The GR-1's design is obviously that of a powerful American supercar. It is basically a fastback, like the Shelby Mustangs of the 1960s. Part of its design comes from Ford's only current supercar, the GT.

Supercharger System for Nissan 370Z and Infiniti G37 Costa Mesa, CA – 03/18/2010 – After more than a year of development and testing, Steve Millen Sportparts (STILLEN) is proud to announce the release of the STILLEN Supercharger System for the Nissan 370Z and Infiniti G37 with the 3.7L VQ37 engine. This complete bolt-on kit includes everything needed to increase the factory 332 horsepower to a tire shredding 515 horsepower on 91 octane pump fuel! STILLEN designed a new cast aluminum intake manifold specifically for this system, featuring longer runners and a large plenum for the engine to draw air, complete with integrated air-to-water inter-cooler system, dramatically cooling the air charge from the Vortech V-3 Supercharger unit. The V-3 features a self-contained oiling system and quiet V-belt design, with plenty of additional boost capability for those wanting even more power down the road. Much of the assembly of the kit is done in advance, with the main supercharger unit being pre-assembled to the laser-cut billet aluminum mounting brackets. Installation is very straight forward, including detailed step-by-step instructions, requiring a typical shop 10-12 hours for the complete install. STILLEN took extreme care in designing this system, ensuring that all additional coolers (oil, transmission, power steering, etc) would work with the inter-cooler system, as the Nissan VQ37 engine is prone to high oil temperatures unless properly cooled. STILLEN manufactures bolt-on cooler kits to keep these temperatures at normal levels no matter how hard the vehicle is being pushed. Tuning is done with the use of an ECU based tuning device (reflash), larger 600cc injectors, and high output fuel pump. Intake features include a Polished Aluminum Intake Charge Pipe, and Cold Air Intake Y-Pipe with draw through MAF sensor bosses and filtered using genuine K&N intake filters. At all levels of development the system was tested, both for street drivability and reliability under normal traffic and freeway conditions, as well as being put through its paces at El Toro Air Base, 140+ mph runs, hard driving on tight courses with excessive revving and redlining, and extensive monitoring of all pertinent air and fluid temperatures, air temps before and after the intercooler, etc. At the onset of this project Steve Millen established two primary goals, performance and reliability. After our extensive reliability and dyno testing we can confidently say that we’ve exceeded both of these. Dyno results show 515 flywheel HP, 438 wheel HP, and 343 lb/ft of torque. Dyno Report:

Icebergs An iceberg is a large piece of ice from freshwater that has broken off from a snow-formed glacier or ice shelf and is floating in open water. It may subsequently become frozen into pack ice. Alternatively, it may come to rest on the seabed in shallower water, causing ice scour (also known as ice gouging) or becoming an ice island. Icebergs with colored strips. God's wonderful creation AGAIN. Amazing striped icebergs Icebergs in the Antarctic area sometimes have stripes, formed by Layers of snow that react to different conditions. Blue stripes are often created when a crevice in the ice sheet Fills up with meltwater and freezes so quickly that no bubbles form. When an iceberg falls into the sea, a layer of salty seawater can Freeze to the underside. If this is rich in algae, it can turn green. Brown, black and yellow lines are caused by sediment, picked up When the ice sheet grinds downhill towards the sea. Also The water froze the instant the wave broke through the Ice. That's what it is like in Antarctica where it is the Coldest weather in decades. Water freezes the instant It comes in contact with the air. The temperature of the Water is already some degrees below freezing.

The Three Gorges Dam is a hydroelectric dam that spans the Yangtze River by the town of Sandouping, located in the Yiling District of Yichang, in Hubei province, China. It is the world's largest electricity-generating plant of any kind.
The dam body was completed in 2006. Except for a ship lift, the originally planned components of the project were completed on October 30, 2008, when the 26th generator in the shore plant began commercial operation. Each generator has a capacity of 700 MW.
Six additional generators in the underground power plant are not expected to become fully operational until 2011. Coupling the dam's 32 main generators with 2 smaller generators (50 MW each) to power the plant itself, the total electric generating capacity of the dam will eventually reach 22.5 GW.
The project produces electricity, increases the river's shipping capacity, and reduces the potential for floods downstream by providing flood storage space. From completion through September 2009 the dam has generated 348.4 TWh of electricity, covering more than one third of its cost.
The Chinese state regards the project as a historic engineering, social and economic success, with the design of state-of-the-art large turbines, and a move toward limiting greenhouse gas emissions. However, the dam flooded archaeological and cultural sites and displaced some 1.3 million people, and is causing significant ecological changes, including an increased risk of landslides. The dam has been a controversial topic both in China and abroad.

Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R “JAPO spec”( RE-built) Legends never dieThe factory has shown the way: on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the company’s own sports department NISMO (NISsan MOtorsports International), in 2004, the Japanese presented a special edition limited to exactly 20 vehicles of the legendary Skyline R34 GT-R, the “Z-tune”. Since the production of the R34 had been stopped three years before, naturally, there were no brand-new cars of this series available at that time. NISMO 20 therefore purchased 20 used cars with low mileage which they dismantled down to their individual components and then re-assembled completely. Up to today the extremely rare Z-tune is known as the spearhead of the R34 GT-R family and was referred to as “the world’s best sports car” for a long time – there are many who still do. “New cars” built in 1999 It is no wonder that JAPO Motorsport GmbH selected this vehicle as the demo object to start a new field of activity: with the specialised restoration of Japanese super sports cars the performance specialists from Essen are opening up new markets – with used vehicles in good condition which, after extensive restoration, almost have the feel of new cars. The individual concept of each project enables the construction of absolute rarities. Let’s get back the vehicle: JAPO Motorsport bought a used Nissan R34 GT-R (constructed in 1999, chassis no. BNR34000500), took it apart down to its basic structure, followed by an extremely complex rebuilding – closely based on the legendary Z-tune model in terms of technology and appearance. The 100 percent restoration of the high performance coupés took 3.5 months, the result being truly breathtaking. Original Z-tuneWithout laying it on thick, original NISMO Z-tune components (front aprons, front mudguards and rear wheel housing) provide the skyline with impressive racing optics. NISMO also offers red rear lights. The expression “Technology made visible” could not be more fitting for anything but the ARC rear diffuser which purists are especially thrilled about due to its edges and naked metal. Apropos naked metal: the bodywork was completely stripped of paint in the immersion bath, subsequently sealed and painted in the original silver “KY0″, formerly reserved for the Z-tune. HKS-Bi-Turbo-PowerWithout exception, JAPO Motorsport refined the legendary RB26DETT straight six cylinder engine bi-turbo motor with a cylinder capacity of 2.5 litres cylinder capacity using the finest HKS components. To name but a few, two GT RS turbo chargers are now blowing into the cylinders with powerful 1.5 bar boost, sparking off a true hell fire. The intercooler, elbows, half pipe, racing suction and chamber kit, injectors, ignition plugs and cylinder head gaskets are also made by HKS. An HKS Fcon Pro standalone engine management system is responsible for the combustion process. Due to its ARC-4 inch titanium exhaust system, you will already hear the JAPO-Skyline from far. Performance measurement resulted in powerful 523 PS and 597 Nm – on the wheel! Traction with the gearbox is enabled due to a considerably resilient HKS clutch. JAPO Motorsport treated the switch box as well as the rear axle differential with additional coolers by ARC for optimised stability. There is no doubt about the HKS Hipermax thread chassis – it has absolute cult status among experts. It is supplemented by an ARC strut mounted between the two front strut pillars, which makes the handling of the coupé even more reliable. Semi slicks and classy interiorReal NISMO Z-tune 9.5×18 inch five spoke wheels are rotating in the GT-R wheel housing. Once they are heated, the Toyo Proxes R888 semi slicks in 265/35R18 offer an extremely high level of grip which should however not be tested to the limits by inexperienced drivers. The serial braking system of the R34 GT-R is often scolded. However, after the installation of a stoptech brake with 355/35 millimetre discs and four-piston callipers in front as well as 355/32 millimetre discs and two-piston callipers on the rear axle, JAPOS’s “new vehicle” now offers deceleration values to make the passengers’ eyeballs bulge. The interior is sporty, classy and not purist at all. JAPO Motorsport installed leather/alcantara fittings for the front and back seats, the dashboard, the centre console, door and side panels, the columns, the roof liner as well as the rim of the Sparco steering wheel. The NISMO tachometer unit is scaled up to 320 km/h, the large multifunctional display above the centre console was extensively updated and now even includes a lap timer.

Toyota FT-86G Concept car Toyota will stage the international motor-show debut of its FT-86G Sports Concept car in October at the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney. The FT-86G is Toyota’s second concept that previews a next-generation rear-wheel-drive sports coupe designed to connect with younger drivers and promote the fun of sports-car driving. The FT-86G is a hotter version of the FT-86 that was revealed at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show. To earn the “G” moniker – Toyota shorthand for sports conversion models – the concept car has undergone an aggressive styling and performance makeover. Metalwork is much sharper as well as looking sleeker with overall measurements that are slightly longer, wider and lower. A totally redesigned front end includes a larger air intake with visible intercooler as well as a vented bonnet. Rear enhancements for the edgier concept include a large carbon-fibre wing, diffuser and oversized twin exhausts. Underneath the skin, the FT-86G Sports Concept retains the front-engine, rear-drive layout of a classic sports car. Toyota has significantly upped the ante on performance with a specially tuned turbocharged engine. The “G” sits on 19-inch Bridgestone rubber while the interior gains Recaro seats.

2010 Buick Regal GS Show Car Buick Unveils Regal GS Show Car -- 21st-century successor to Buick’s Gran Sport heritage -- Bold, sporty design with unique exterior details and an aggressive stance -- High-output Ecotec 2.0L turbocharged engine and six-speed manual transmission -- Adaptive all-wheel-drive system and electronic limited-slip rear differential -- 0-60 in less than 6.0 seconds -- Buick’s class-exclusive Interactive Drive Control System Turbocharged AWD performance Power for the Regal GS comes from a high-output 2.0L Ecotec turbocharged engine with direct-injection technology. It is based on the engine that will be offered on Regal CXL models later this summer, but the engine and turbocharger are tuned to deliver greater boost pressure in the GS. The output is estimated at 255 horsepower (190 kW) and 295 lb.-ft. of torque (400 Nm). The engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission that directs torque to an adaptive all-wheel-drive system calibrated for performance driving. An electronic, limited-slip rear differential helps ensure the engine’s power is distributed effectively during cornering. The high-performance drivetrain is expected to enable the Regal GS to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 6 seconds. That performance is complemented by a four-wheel-independent suspension, with a unique High Performance Strut (HiPerStrut) design in front. The HiPerStrut system helps reduce torque steer and maintain negative camber during cornering. This improves ultimate grip levels in dry and wet conditions, as well as improves the direct feel of the road, while isolating undesirable feedback. Behind the wheel the driver experiences reduced torque steer, improved grip and increased cornering power, along with crisper handling, steering precision and feedback. The Regal GS features a high-performance Brembo brake system with 14 x 1.2-inch (355 x 32 mm) cross-drilled rotors; four-piston, high-strength aluminum calipers, and high-performance pads. The Regal GS is also equipped with Interactive Drive Control System (IDCS) chassis technology (also offered on Regal CXL models with the 2.0L turbo engine). It delivers enhanced vehicle stability and greater driving safety, while also adapting the driving characteristics of the car to the driver’s preferences. The driver selects among three operating modes – normal, sport and GS – that change the suspension settings, throttle response and steering sensitivity through the variable-effort steering system.
