Jaguar XJ75 Platinum Concept (2010) "The new Jaguar XJ75 Platinum Concept celebrates Jaguar's 75th Anniversary, and highlights the uniqueness of the XJ, and more broadly, the increasingly personal nature of luxury cars in today's market," said Mike O'Driscoll, Managing Director of Jaguar Cars. "The XJ is thoroughly modern, and captures the innovative and daring character that our founder Sir William Lyons built into every Jaguar. And the design team clearly had some fun making their first one-of-a-kind XJ design concept in that spirit." Dominated by a striking white and black contrast theme that suggests precious platinum metal, the Jaguar XJ75 Platinum Concept is a high-performance 470-hp 2011 Jaguar XJL Supercharged equipped with new ground-hugging front, rear and side sills. Painted a lustrous Satin Matte Pearlescent White, exterior chrome elements have been revised to either a dark chrome or gloss black. Bespoke 22-inch wheels are black and use a brushed contrast finish. Performance on the Jaguar XJ75 Platinum Concept is derived from its 5.0-litre Supercharged direct-injection V8 with 470 horsepower and 424 lb.-ft of torque. Entertainment is provided by a 1,200-watt Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system with 20 speakers powered through 15 channels and state-of-the-art sound processing technology.

Opel GTC Paris Concept Distinctly a new Opel - with an emotional tribute to performance At 4.46 meters, the Opel GTC Paris Concept is the ideal size for a compact, sporty car, but it still offers room for five passengers. Most iconic cars have been drawn from the side. Many can be sketched with two or three sharp lines. So, too, with Opel's new concept car: In profile, the designers have maximized tension by limiting the amount of lines in the GTC Paris. Similar to tendons in a sprinter, these lines create tension and provide a sculpted shape. They serve as the foundation to which the highlights and surfacing react and press to the wheels in a very athletic fashion. Innovative technology enhances performance The best of Opel's compact car technology is brought to its sportiest level on the Opel GTC Paris Concept. The chassis has a special design with an extra-wide stance. It features a compound crank with an Opel-exclusive Watt's link in the rear, a new, updated execution of the adaptive mechatronic FlexRide suspension and a front electronic limited slip differential. The Opel GTC Paris is planted to the ground with dynamic 21-inch wheels. The powertrain in the Opel GTC Paris Concept is a four-cylinder, 2.0 liter Turbo with direct injection, packing maximum horsepower and torque. It is fitted with Start/Stop technology, proving that drivers can combine high performance with maximum fuel efficiency in urban driving conditions. The transmission is a six-speed manual gearbox.

Gursewak Dhillon pleads guilty over Indian boy Gurshan Singh Channa's death A MAN has pleaded guilty in a Melbourne court over the death of Indian boy Gurshan Singh Channa whose body was found in grass by the side of a road in March. Gursewak Dhillon, 23, pleaded guilty in the Melbourne Magistrates' Court to one count of manslaughter by criminal negligence over the three-year-old's death. Gurshan's body was found by a council worker in grass by the side of a road in March, some 20km from his family's home in Lalor. Police allege Dhillon, who shared the home with Gurshan's parents, placed the boy unconscious but alive in the boot of his car, drove him in the boot for at least three hours and dumped him at Oaklands Junction without checking to see if he was alive or dead. Standing before magistrate Peter Reardon, Dhillon said "I'm guilty, your honour", in response to a charge of manslaughter. The boy's parents are now living in their home town of Kotkapura, India. Dhillon, an Indian national and part-time taxi driver, was charged and remanded into custody over the boy's death. He will face the Victorian Supreme Court for a directions hearing on September 21. As one Aussie to another:
One of the Australian national daily newspapers is asking readers "what it means to be Australian?" Some of the emails are hilarious but this is one from a guy in Switzerland...
Being Australian is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, and then travelling home, grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab on the way, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV. And the most Australian thing of all?
Suspicion of anything foreign.
Oh and!!!!!
Only in Australia... can a pizza get to your house faster than an ambulance.
Only in Australia... do supermarkets make sick people walk all the way to the back of the shop to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front.
Only in Australia... do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries, and a DIET coke.
Only in Australia... do banks leave both doors open and chain the pens to the counters.
Only in Australia... we leave cars worth thousands of dollars on the drive and lock our junk and cheap lawn mower in the garage.
Only in Australia... do we use answering machines to screen calls and then have call waiting so we won't miss a call from someone we didn't want to talk to in the first place.
Only in Australia... are there disabled parking places in front of a skating rink

What Is HID? HID stands for "High Intensity Discharge". HID lights get their name from the intense white light produced by the electrical discharge. HID lights are a different type of lighting technology utilized in automobiles for greater effectiveness and greater efficiency. Unlike Halogen (or incandescent) bulbs, HID bulbs do not have filaments. "Instead of heating a filament as standard halogen bulbs do, HID bulbs create light by bridging an arc between two electrodes similar to the energy transfer of lightning. The arc stimulates a mixture of Xenon gases and metallic salts, producing a phenomenal bright white beam of light approximately 3x brighter than conventional halogen illumination, while lasting 10x longer!" The Advantages Of Xenon HID Lights -More light output (up to 3 times brighter) -Wider coverage (beam pattern illuminates up to 70% more of the roadway, especially the sides) -Whiter light (almost a blue light, resulting in clearer images) -More durable (withstands shock and vibration since there is no filament) -Longer life (last 3 times longer or 5-10 years, depending on use) -Greater efficiency (3x more light while using 24% less power) Halogens Vs Xenons Color Difference Type of bulbs

2010 Peugeot RCZ This is the brand new 2010 Peugeot RCZ, the French response to the Audi TT! Set to be unveiled at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, the new vehicle promises to be a real success for Peugeot because let’s be honest, we don’t have an alternative to the TT. The new car introduces a new design line for Peugeot, with a double-bubble roof inspired by Zagato (seen on the Bentley Continental GT by Zagato), a short clamshell bonnet and a stylish rear with integrated pop-up spoiler. An interesting thing is that the new car offers a personalization programme for the roof arches which are offered in black, chrome or satin. The design is completed by 18 or 19 inch alloy wheels. Under the hood we find: a 2.0-litre HDi diesel capable to deliver 163 bhp and showing a fuel consumption of 52.3mpg ( 139g/km of CO2); a 1.6-liter gasoline engine delivering 156 bhp; the flagship model comes with the 1.6-litre turbocharged engine
from the Mini Cooper S capable to deliver 200bhp and to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds (top speed is 225 km/h or 140+ mph). Engine: 1.6 L Turbo petrol / 2.0 HDi Diesel Power: 200bhp / 163 bhp Top Speed 225kmph 0-100 kmph: 7.6 seconds

Samsung I9000 Galaxy S vs. Apple iPhone 4: Collision course Introduction It’s not like you’re out of options. Here’s one. Another one would be to get a friend’s iPhone 4 and another friend’s Galaxy S, put them on a table, close your eyes and… tell your friends to bugger off. Or you can do it the old-fashioned way. Flip a what? Now seriously, do we need another iPhone vs. insert phone of choice thing? Well, do you need Retina display when it’s more than the human eye can see? Do you need a 4” Super AMOLED when 3.5” would’ve been just fine – and easier to handle? Apple iPhone 4 Samsung I9000 Galaxy S Yes, we’ll be comparing the best screens in business. But it’s not even the beginning of what this is all about. There’s not just muscle being flexed here – it’s about ideology too. It’s open source Android against control freaks Apple, democracy against the royalty. And technically, the Samsung Galaxy S is not alone in this fight. It’s backed by an army of overseas mercenaries, marching to take on the Apple phone on different markets: Samsung Vibrant, Samsung Captivate and the Epic 4G. The different call signs aside, we have two of the best phones you can get today and this is not a kill-or-get-killed game. The first thing we try to find out when reviewing phones is who they are for. The tech inside is always exciting but ultimately it all comes down to whether the right users are getting the right treatment. The specs are the players – the phone is the team. You can always tell a star player. But the winning team isn’t always the one with the better players. And sometimes you don’t even want to look at the score. That’s when we know it’s been a hell of a game. Samsung Galaxy S over Apple iPhone 4 Android 2.1 Éclair, 2.2 Froyo update just around the corner -4” SuperAMOLED display with a 15:9 widescreen aspect ratio -Regular SIM card support -DivX/XviD video support -FM radio with RDS -Notably cheaper Apple iPhone 4 over Samsung Galaxy S -iOS 4 -640 x 960 pixel Retina display -Scratch-resistant, high-quality glass panels -LED flash -Precise movement tracking via a gyro sensor It’s Android’s finest against the iPhone but that’s how we tend to look at it on our side of the pond. The truth is, there are meaner and keener droids out there. The Motorola DROID X and the HTC Evo 4G are obviously not part of our story but are the kind of phones to merit a place in history. Anyway, there’s enough firepower here even without the US heavyweights. Screen and OS are the most powerful weapons of both the Galaxy S and the iPhone 4. SuperAMOLED came first and impressed the world but now the Retina display is claiming the crown. With platforms it’s a mirrored image of the same events: iOS (known as iPhone OS at the time), redefined touchscreen usability but Android claims to have leapfrogged it with Froyo. To further complicate things, even absolutely identical specs don’t produce the same performance. The cameras on both devices may look similar but the rival camps took a completely different approach to processing – that holds true for both still imaging and video recording. At times, it will look like the Galaxy S is competing against a first-gen iPhone. There are still things Apple will never bother put in their phones. Elsewhere, the Samsung Galaxy S might find it hard to match the stature and eloquence of the iPhone. That’s how we like it though – punches flying both ways. Be right back.
