A story from when Guru Nanak returning from Mecca Media, stopped at Iraq and was asked 3 questions by a Pir (muslim saint). 3 Questions from Pir Dastagir to Guru Nanak:

Pir- Where is God?
Guru Nanak- As with milk, inside is cheese, sweets, butter, yogurt all, and in wood is fire, with effort this comes, and God is within us, as wool is present in a sweeter. Man minus Ego equals God. Ego is what separates us from others. In truth there is only one. Hence {man - ego}(one) = god(one). God is within.

Pir- What came before God?
Guru Nanak- Count
Pir- 1, 2, 3...
Guru Nanak- you count wrong
Pir- again 1, 2
Guru Nanak- No no wrong again
Pir- How is it wrong?
Guru Nanak- You are missing what comes before 1
Pir- 0? but nothing comes before 1
Guru Nanak- Answer, Just as nothing (0) comes before 1, so is, Ik On kar, the 1 Doer, the creator, God, nothing comes before him.

Pir- What does God do?
Guru Nanak- God takes those who are low, makes them high, and those high and makes them low. That is his game.
