This is not a norm. Punjabis believe in one love per life. In Punjab, only when the wife dies can a Punjabi men remarry. Affairs/dating is taboo. This stuff happens very very rarely in Punjab (India), because the culture is against this kind of stuff. A lot of it is considered incest. I think all this happened in the absence of parents.

Like, when I see a rapist American on TV, I don't think all Americans are like this. Similarly.
